    so all these are just about fidelity instead of bass? I listen to hip hop/metal and got the Brainwavz R1, Meelec M6 and M9. Will these deliver better sound with bass? Anyone?

      I have the XBA3s and they noise isolate quite well (around 80-90% of outside noise). Note noise isolation, which is passive and happens due to the size of the eartips, is different from (active) noise cancellation.

          Yep, noise isolating. I find they work really well, and don't emit the white noise that gets to you after a while that noise-cancelling headphones do.

          the difference is active noise cancelling (ANC) works for ambient noise that repeats
          whereas noise isolating will isolate any sound up to 26 decibels. i use them on the plane and it's pretty good. I haven't tried ANC headphones on the plane yet

          I think the only active noise cancelling units are the XBANC85. A great price reduction, but according to this site, may not be worth it.

    Great price for the XBA3. Bought these for $90+ when videopro had their promotion on. The nicest pair of earphones I've ever heard. By the way, I used to work at a specialist audio store. Sony earphones/headphones cost price Vs RRP is around 80-110% profit margin for us.

    Well done OP, I also bought some XBA3 for $99 recently from Videopro, best ear canal phones I've ever heard. I just picked up the noise cancelling XBANC85 from Sony Centre Perth, what an incredible bargain $85, for $550 RRP! Your a star. By the way, they had no stock, but they guaranteed delivery if I paid on the spot. Website crashed on me anyway.

      The IP has the remote (extra functionality) and is meant to be $20 more expensive. Now they're both $50. I think it's pretty clear which one to go for :P

    I bought XBA3's from videopro.. The sound isolation is excellent, heaps of different tip sizes so you'll be hard pressed to not find one that fits comfortably. The driver is a little on the large size but it's not really that noticeable, maybe only after about 4-5 hours of straight use do my ears start to get a little sore, but it did that with my other Senn H200 II and Beats by Dre.

    The sound I'm impressed with however I do wish it had a little more bass (like the beats by dre). However should you listen to a lot of rock and classical you won't have any regrets regarding the sound quality.

    I hate impulse buying but I'll be grabbing another pair now..

    unfortunately XBA3IP is out of stock. Probably the best quality/value for your phone. I have the BT75 and S65 in my cart but can't do the final purchase step.

    Just went to check out Nunawading Sony Centre, only 3 types left in the country, one was the over-ear sports model…I didn't take great note as I only wanted the bluetooth ones which there are none of in the country. :(

    EDIT - Worth a phone call to them if you're after something as they have to order stuff in from the warehouse anyway hence hardly worth a trip if they let you order over the phone. I was also the only customer in the store…I've always questioned why they bother with a shop front as there never seems to be anyone in there when I'm at Home HQ.

    Just rang Melbourne store, guy said it's 'gone viral' = ozbargained, and the only ones left are the xba3 and only a couple left, couldn't put any away, can't pay on the phone, have to come in.

        That's what the guy said on the phone. When I mentioned I'm on the website he asked me was I after the xba3s. He said they were selling them in the shop like hotcakes, so people must have found out one way or another.

    Have been trying for over 2 hours… the furthest I got is listing the items in the cart… I don't care how great a discount this is, I truly expected better from Sony… A real waste of time… Don't launch a sale if your systems cannot handle it… It needs to be Ozbargain tested!

      I got past the listings on the cart, put in addresses, selected credit card, placed the order which even worked after spinning for a while and then got to the final screen of confirming the order by actually putting in the credit card details… only for it to crash a number of times… so blardy frustrating…

      that's strange…my friend went to the bourke st store at about 3:30, and they had xba3 but no xba3IP…

      so we got xba3's (which is fine for me, cause i don't have an iphone).

    I keep getting redirected to a page that says the site is down for maintenance. Anyone else getting the same thing? Many of the posts above seem to suggest people are getting through to checkout.
