  • Managed to get my order finally through payit@post because credit card wouldnt go through. Took a good few hours though!

  • +2

    Down for Maintenance.

Once I can understand but twice?

    Come on Sony.

  • I think ALL the sale items have now gone back up to full retail price, online that is?
I'm not getting the links to show the discounted price anymore.

  • +2

Furious, i was refreshing for multiple hours to find out that my cart kept getting emptied. Turns up sold now.

  • That's it - Sale is over now I think. My cart emptied itself and the links don't show up for the special pricing.

  • +2

Model:XBABT75 Showing now as out of stock! :( There goes hours of my life I won't get back, thanks Sony.

  • George Michael was right….Fony.

  • +1

Anyone who successfully bought more than one kind enough to sell me one?

    • As above. Haha.

      • Same inbox me if you're willing to sell a spare pair

    • Scrap that. Order went through! WOOO. Will + when I have it in my hands.

  • Order a xba3 and a mp3 player with bonus free XB400 headphones this morning at about 3.30am. Was about to give up!

    Just checked…
    Sony Balanced Armature Headphones
    Model:XBANC85D still available for $85

    • I last tried at about 2:30am, looks like I should have stayed up just a little bit later! :P

      • Same here, stayed up through the TDF and half of Wimbledon semis to no avail.

    • DHL just delivered my order. Can't see any box damage on the XBA3….. box looks kinda tired though.

  • +1

What a waste of time on a seemingly great deal! The price seems to intermittently go up (no deal) and down (deal), and although I see a link to the item in my cart, all I get when I click on the cart is:
"Looking for something at Sony? The page that you are looking for is unavailable."

After a few refreshes the cart times out and empties automatically.

  • website returned an error page after i tried to check my cart. also the page is no longer showing the $50 price for XBA3

    • Looks like officially dead…

      • im going to try getting my local sony shop to order one in for me

  • +1

Thank you for choosing to shop at Sony Store. We have received your order and will email you again once it has shipped.

After 3 hours, finally my order went through via BPay. So it is still possible!

  • +3

Got through after an hour, used BPAY option, didnt want to take the risk with CC. Timed out on final screen, but got an email confirmation. Snatched an XBA-3.

  • +1

People who just got it now can we still buy?
still has the message 'Thanks for coming to the Sony Online Store. We’re currently experiencing a high traffic load on our site.Don’t worry, we have plenty of stock so make sure to come back later today to place your order.'

    • I would advise to keep trying as the deal is suppose to go up to end of July if I am not wrong.

      From the email

Offer ends on 31st July, 2013 or while stocks last so get in early to secure your pair. This exclusive offer is only available from www.sony.com.au or your local Sony Centre or Sony Kiosk.

  • Bought after about 15 mins, used CC option, confirmation screen timed out but like the guy above I got an e-mail confirmation and funds have been deducted. Got two XBA-3s.

    • -1

      Is one for sale? Hehe

      • It's going to a mate, another fellow ozbargainer.

  • I managed to get an XBA3 with BPAY yesterday. However, its still under "Payment Pending". Anyone who has gotten through and paid with BPAY made it to "Dispatch Pending" ?

    • +1

I think once you've got this far you have nothing to worry about. The payment just takes a while to process. I can't really imagine Sony trying to deny payments or cancel invoices. But who knows…

  • The deal is still active. I just got through now. Still ridiculously slow, and only after a few million attempts. If you don't care about registering for the free shipping, I still highly recommend it for convenience, as it automatically fills out all your details in the checkout for you. Which is super handy for such a temperamental site, rather than re-entering and confirming every time.

    • How did you get past this message?

Thanks for coming to the Sony Online Store. We’re currently experiencing a high traffic load on our site.Don’t worry, we have plenty of stock so make sure to come back later today to place your order.

      • Looks like that message is back for me too now. It's been coming and going all morning. I kept one tab open to keep trying to log into my account (you get logged out pretty frequently), and then trying to load the items/add to cart in other tabs. This way when you get to the cart screen you're already logged in, and you don't have to risk timing out in your cart while trying to log in again. Well, that's what worked best for me. :)

  • So are some of these (eg. http://www.sony.com.au/product/xba-3ip ) actually sold out or is stock coming "in and out" of the online store?

    • It says out of stock but they offer back orders so I did that to lock in the price. Not sure when the stock will come through though so fingers crossed it won't take too long.

  • +3

They've updated how it works now. You get a ticket in a queue through the original link (http://www.sony.com.au/microsite/xba_offer/?cid=email%3Astor…)

    Copied from link:

Join the queue for the XBA end of line & box damaged CLEARANCE offer.

Stock is limited, so register now to secure your place in the line. Registering does not guarantee an order as this is strictly first in, first served.

If successful, we will contact you throughout the course of the week to complete the sale, so keep an eye on your inbox.

    • What queue? The hell?

    • Terms and conditions:

*Offer available on selected models only. All savings based off SRP. Offers available strictly while stocks last. Shipping charges may be additional. Offer available to Australian residents only. Not available in conjunction with any other offer. Offer available online and in Sony stores only. Limited to 3 per person. • +1

In the line, hopefully I cop some

  • Does anyone see this ticket thing? I can't find a anything

    • +1

Yeah its there. Close your browser n try again.

    • I had to clear my browser cache/cookies to be able to see it.

  • +1

    Finally!

Left it sitting in the cart, forgot about it and was surprised when I could actually buy it a few minutes ago.
Received the email confirmation and my card charged.

  • Damnn… I had it in my cart yesterday, able to checkout and went through to final payment stage.. and the cart empty at last stage

  • Just managed to buy the XBA3, no issues. No ticket needed. Paid by CC. Email confirmation has come through as well.

    • Sorry, just realised it was only available through my already open page for the deal which now, after a refresh, shows the full price :(

  • im in the queue apparently, but cannot retrieve cart.

  • Received Confirmation E-mail for two XBA3's on back order, after 5 hours of trying. Fingers Crossed.

  • Joined the queue now.

  • Got thru and payment via CC. Got the XBA3 as well.

  • Does anyone know if Sony will honour purchases, If the order crashed at the final payment step but the money's been deducted from the bank account? I.e., you have payed for the order but you did not receive a confirmation.

    • -1

I believe they will. They seem to be getting rid of stock, but don't want people knowing the ridiculous mark ups on it i.e using excuses such as 'damaged boxes' lollol

  • -2

I just managed to place some orders for 4 XBA3 and 3 XBA2VP. The XBA3 is on backorder but XBA2VP is still in stock.

If you want to know how I did it, I simply had my browser open from last night and added the item to card and it worked, but if you go through the link in the OP it won't work and you will join the queue.

  • I did this too for a XBA3, says backorder, but card has been charged and I have confirmation order/email etc. I grabbed a pair of XBA2 instore today :)

    • It's crazy, I placed three different orders and each time paid $9 delivery fee. I am questioning it now :)

  • Hi,

After having the same really frustrating time since yesterday attempting to order (& losing the XBANC85D's from my bascket twice!!) i opened chrome on my phone, pressed back, it opened the 85% off page & allowed me to order the above 'phones!!
Caveat; the order stressed they were on backorder, this may just be more Sony timewasting or they may honour i've no idea . .
    still worth a punt . .

  • Finally managed to get xba-3 and xba-2vp…..
good deal and good quality of sounds…..
    thank OZbargain… u did it again…..

  • according to reviews the XBANC85D are crap!

    • And most of the amazon reviewers got theirs for free!

    • +3

Yeh i read those however that was at $500 (a crazy price!!) at $85 + p&p theor borderline good value?

      • Yeah I bet if they had a RRP of $80 they would have got much better reviews.

  • Surely this deal has expired due to the fact you can't buy online, only apply for a waiting list.

    • +4

There are plenty of people who successfully made orders. You shouldn't neg just because you missed out.

      • nothing is going to reason with those who neg. if they feel that that is one way to vent, then more power to them!

the rest of us who keep an open mind will see thru what it is.

  • +2

Just got my confirmation email for delivery:
Your Sony order has been dispatched and is on its way to you!

I wasn't greedy and ordered just one for personal use. Very happy, because I went to buy from VideoPro 2 weeks ago and they were gone, went to all retailers and they said they has sent them back to Sony. Was very sad until now :)

    • +5

      why still the neg?

      • Because he is not greedy :)

        • Because I cant change it! I waited out for hours and found that everyone had the same issue, so I negged…but now I can't change it.

        • You can revoke it at least.

        • Done, didn't know you could do that.. Thanks.

    • Videopro still has stock on ebay lol.

    • How long did it take to get your confirmation email? I got an order number on saturday and still haven't received a confirmation email yet….

  • +3

    • got this too..do we need to register to mysony? if so, do we need a product code to register?

      • I am not sure sorry.

        • you can register, just put in some random product code etc…

    • Has anyone else received the same email? I submitted my detail around 3pm on Sunday afternoon but did not receive this confirmation email so far.

      • I joined the Q using 2 e-mail's, but am only getting replies to one of them.

      • I have no confirmation email either. I replied to the email sent initially confirming that I've been placed in the queue, and will see what happens. Pretty devo if they don't send me a code.

  • My XBA2VP order has been dispatched. Just got the invoice from Sonystyle.

    • Likewise with my XBA3.
The tracking (DHL) doesn't seem to work yet though. Apparently it'll work within 2 hours.

Thank you for shopping at the Sony Store. Please find attached your purchase receipt . Your Sony order has been dispatched and is on its way to you!

Click here to track the status of your order and click on events tab.
(This link will be activated within 2 hours from the receipt of this mail).

  • Got shipment notification for my XBA3s as well. Even though they were out of stock when I placed the order, they have canceled one of my orders which had one XBA3, weird.

  • I bought mine minutes before they took away adding to cart for the queue system. Got despatch email today.

  • Any news on XBA-3ip iphone version ? I ordered one when it was indicated as Back Order. Sony has not charge my credit card yet, but I did receive order confirmation email with an order #

    • Sony has now charged my credit card for 2 x XBA-3ip. Status: Payment Approved -> Despatch Pending

  • Got mine delivered today. 3 XBA-3s with slightly damaged boxes. Can't complain for the price though

    • Same here, delivered 10 mins ago. Fast postage!

      • Same, box is perfect.

    • Cool! I'm waiting to see if anything happens for those in the queue…

      • +2

Still no email from Sony yet. Eagerly waiting for the email so I can buy my xba3

        • By the looks of the offer page, the XBA3 are sold out. Only the XBAS65B, XBA1VP & XBA2VP are left…

        • Haven't got my promotion code either!

        • Damn that would be bad for me. Considering I was interested in the xba3

  • -6

Anyone willing to sell an xba 3? Inbox me please!

    • +1

Neg + beg = probably not going to get favorable responses.

  • Has anyone received promotional code yet? They were supposed to start coming through today.

    • I got mine.

Thank you for registering to take part in our XBA headphone CLEARANCE.

Please find below your single-use eCoupon to use on www.sony.com.au.

      Expires July 11 2013, 11:59 PM

Your single-use eCoupon is valid for ONE each of the following models and is valid for 24 hours only so get in quick!

      • XBA-1VP : Smartphone compatible In-Ear Headphones with Remote $17.99
      • XBA-2VP : Smartphone compatible In-Ear Headphones with Remote $37.49
      • XBA-S65 : Active Sports Style Washable In-Ear Headphones $19.49

Looks like they sold out of the xba3s. I'd be upset if I had not bought a pair separately.
Also aren't the xba2s more expensive now? From 35 to 37.5.

      • GST? lulz. no idea.

      • I've received mine. :)

      • They aren't expensive. They were offered for $40 on sale so if it is $37.49 including gst then they are cheaper now :)

It's strange that I've received confirmation of dispatch for NC85D even though it had gone through as a backorder. Still waiting for the code as I am more interested in XBA-2VP.
