pretty suss how they hide the "your cost" bit for certain items.

      Agreed. Poor marketing effort imo.

Can lead to bad customer experience.

Well is it a coupon for $x off..

Prob has an effect on their US pricing being the span of stores might have different pricing so maybe this system works for them well overseas so guess it will work here too

  • I still don't think the $60 membership is worth the savings they give you. Especially if you have to buy in bulk.
But then again, if you Need a big priced item like the 60" flat screen and you save on a discount ( if it is indeed a good discount) then yes maybe.
But just for groceries, no, I found that we had so much crap in our cupboards that were going out of date it's ot funny. Hence we didn't renew our membership.

The whole idea of the company is ot buy in bulk.

You get some of their foods and items like that, the $55-$60 membership turns into good value pretty dam quick,

Also if you ever go to their US stores and get a 2L bottle of Jim Beam for $25 it very quickly adds up :)

      (World Wide membership)

    • I think i save at least double the $60 membership everytime i go there for my 2-month stock up. Don't forget you can cancel the membership anytime before it expires and get your money back, so it's worth it 100% IMHO

you really need to find out the prices before posting this as a deal, as the negative nancy's will be here in full force in a matter of time.

Agreed. $250 off a TV sounds great, but $250 off what?

if you check past costco deals on here, the savings are generally pretty good, very good on Sony tv's, i may go into store this weekend and find them all out

take a photo of the price and get it price matched at JB

        • +2

I bought my TV there about 4 months ago. 55" Sony, I got it at Costco with one of these deals for $1300 at JB it was $1700. Plus it has a lifetime warranty as long as you keep your membership current which is a pretty good deal in itself.

I also bought SONY 55HX750 for $1169 in December with life of membership warranty. totally worth it.

        • Lifetime Costco membership or Lifeime Sony warranty on the TV?

How much is the Sony 60" TV and the Toshiba Notebook?

        • +1

I think it's warranty for as long as you maintain your membership. Clever ploy really.

  • Limit of 4 60" TVs
Does that constitute a bulk purchase?

  • Poppycock on special. That stuff is so delicious, it should come with a warning label. I took a tub to work once and by the end of the day it was gone. So many kilojoules but so tasty.

Had to ban myself from ever buying it again.

Not sure how current the prices are, but Loaded Trolley is a Costco blog that has some good info (and I believe run by an OzBargain member) they do have a list of TV prices.

    http://loadedtrolley.com.au/costco-australia-price-lists/cos…

    • The only 60" Sony listed on loadedtrolley is the R55.
There is no R55 on the Sony website but there is an R550A.
Cheapest price I could find was about $2200 - will be interesting to see what price Costco offer.

        Thanks deal88…yep, that's my site.

The Sony TV that will be on sale is marked on Costco's shelves as R55, but from what I saw last night on the box at Costco it is the 60" R550A. The current price at Costco is $2199.99, but take that with a grain of salt as last time they dropped the shelf price of one of the TVs and then the discount on top of that.

    • Thanks for the list!

  • I went to Costco yesterday and got a bag of 36 dinner rolls. When I got home and checked, there were only 31! Got ripped~!

  • Can you only find out what the deals are in-store, even as a Costco member?

  • Guys the best deal here which isn't highlighted are the OralB replacement toothbrush heads: 10 for $28 including 2 which are the flossing ones. Got a pack today and saw quite a few people getting them - a lot of stock left though.
