  • how'd it taste?

    • i guess it would taste like demineralised water.

      • thought it might taste stale if it really has nothing in it there would be nothing no sodium or any other taste based things.

        • +1

          Them taste-based-things.

        • Thats the scientific term I'm 90% sure…
I mean what do you want Flavor particles?
Flavor molecules? hmm wikipedia says it's the substance that gives it's flavor is called a flavorant.

        • +6

          flavor flav?

    • Bit flat to be honest.

I was thirsty and it was cheaper than normal water.

normal water costs $0.002597 per litre

    • Not in a convenient plastic container.

    • you didnt factor in the idiot tax, freight and bottle costs of $4.997403 (or how ever much bottled water costs, ive not bought it since raves back in the 90's)

      • and fill it up in the dunnys all night? always spent my money on supplements…

They started running hot water through the taps around 2001+. Wankers.

  • +2

This water would be good for topping up the acid battary in the car…..

    • I don't think demineralised water is suitable for a lead acid battery, you want distilled or deionised water.

carefull it contains DHMO - Di Hydrogen Monoxide

    • Dangerous stuff that is, did you hear about the radio show that got in trouble for telling the public about the dangers of it?

      • -4

That was just an April fools joke it's just h20…

        • Woosh but yeah they did get in some trouble if I recall.

        • DHMO D:
          terrible terrible stuff

        • Yeah its on wiki

Is this suitable for human consumption? It says add to coolant, vaporiser, humidifier etc. on its label.

    • +1

Clearly the op needed to cool himself down.

    • +1

No im pretty sure there is a warning on the bottle saying do not drink

      • +3

        Is OP still alive???

        • +1

If OP is indeed dead, he will probably be the first person to die due to consuming demineralised water.

        • +2

looks like it's in the auto section too

OP in the running for Darwin award perhaps?

        • It is WATER.

          Even kittens can drink it.

        • Is OP still alive???

Well we haven't heard back from him in a while…

        • You wouldn't want to drink demin water, and only demin water, long term - unless you deliberately increased your salt intake. And not just NaCl table salt - there's other mineral salts you usually get from water.
Sailors on steam ships used to get sick because the fresh water on board was purified to make it suitable for use in the boiler (without causing scale and other problems of minerals precipitating out of the water) - they just tapped the pure water for drinking. When they figured it out, they started giving sailors salt tablets to make up for what they weren't getting from the water.
Chugging a couple of bottles of demineralised water from the supermarket isn't going to kill anybody… but you're not doing yourself any favours by getting rid of all those nasty minerals out of your water. Especially not in the long term.
And besides… you'd be much better off chugging water from the hand basin in the toilets. Not to mention 50c richer.

  • Don't think distilled water would contain those good bacteria which eradicates bad microorganisms. But I'd still drink it :)

1.5L of Woolworths spring water meant for human consumption is 76cents. I know what I'd prefer.
