Thanks OP, just signed up to ING orange last week. 20% off recharge here I come!

    • +7

      Not 20% exactly, is 19%.

      Example:
      $10 recharge - 15% = $8.50

      $8.50 - 5% = $8.08

      $8.08/$10.00 = 80.8%

      100% - 80.8% = 19.2%

      • trust windows 7 to say that

    • (1 - (20 / 35$)) * 100 = 42.85 % should be mine,

if all goes smoothly for my 28/7 bolt-on'charge.

I like the idea of this!
"Withdraw 200 from your ING for free transaction and use your paywave for further 5%"

Used to go the 30.00- recharges, particularly often as they were 0.5 price. Now adays just seems cheaper to go unmetered@aldi 5gbyte + PAYU $10 365 for International +/or Data.

  • Does this work for mobile broadband credit?

    • +1

      Yes

  • does coles do boost vouchers? And how long do prepaid vouchers last before they expire?

    • usually 1 or 2 years depends on where you recharge.
i think coles express one are 2 years.

    • Wait so does this promotion work for boost vouchers?

  • $5 off a six pack isn't bad. Thanks OP!

  • Argh! Just bought a year's worth of recharge today :( ($30)

    • is there expiry date on the voucher?

      • Most likely, I think its a month? shrugs

      • +1

Yes, my vague memory is that expiry is in about 6 months. Definiteley longer than a month.

  • How does this work exactly? The ATM asks you what voucher you want when you do the withdrawal, or do you have to go see the people at the counter etc?

    • +1

ATM asks you which one you want. And you don't necessarily have to make a withdrawal, I don't know about other cards but with my Coles Mastercard I only had to make a balance enquiry to get the offer.

      • Hmm very interesting, thanks for the info. :)

      • Didn't you get charged a small fee for a balance enquiry on that card?

        • Yes, you mostly will (if it is not one of their "own ATM" cards such as ING or CBA)…
so better withdraw money with the ING card…

        • Still worth the $2 fee for a 15% off recharge.

  • +1

Well looks like not many of us with ing have 5% dropped to 2%, has anyone canceled there ING and reapplied and have there 5% back?

    • Yes,it was too easy. You don't even have to cancel the old card. You can just open a new card by saying you are not an existing customer.

  • +5

has anyone canceled there ING and reapplied and have there 5% back?

    Where? Over there.

  • Coles express only? or any Coles?

    • @sharp

You must use an atm to obtain this discount voucher use this link V V V V to locate one

      http://www.colesexpress.com.au/store-locator.aspx

(BTW… COLES EXPRESS ie: petrol stations is where you need to go)

and checking your card balance costs $1( to get this voucher) if you don't have a card that gives a rebate.

  • what is the expiry date of this voucher?i meant the voucher to buy recharge voucher, i remembered the last one only last around 1 month.

    • @ uccoffee
      Mine states 18th August 2013

      (got it today)

  • Nice.

  • Hi guys I got Coles MasterCard credit card. If I use the atm to check balance how much fee is there? I don't have ing card, just want to get a few discounted recharge vouchers for Telstra

    Cheers

    • $1 seems to be common (balance check only)

  • I just wasted $1 at Coles Express Flemington ATM, VIC. I checked my balance on the screen using my HSBC ATM card but the option to choose the vouchers didn't come up :( After my transaction was completed, the ATM 'screensaver' was showing the voucher advertisements.

A lady right after me withdrew some cash, and she was charged $2.50 as expected, but the option screen to choose the voucher didn't come up for her either.
Does anyone know if there's a limit to the number of vouchers that are issued at each ATM?

    • I had the same issue in Clayton with my NAB card. Tried it 3 times, first with a withdraw, then tried a balance. Then ask the guy behind the counter and he says 'after you withdraw the money it should come up on screen and you press the side buttons'. Ask him to take a look (making sure not to let him see pin numbers etc of course), guy just bashes the button a few times when he claims you're suppose to, then pretty just shrugs his shoulders and says he guess it's not working (all while the same advertisement graphic is displaying). $6 in transaction fees wasted.

Wouldn't have bothered so much if my Telstra long life pre-paid didn't expire tomorrow and I intend to recharge it with $180 to get another year. Would be great if someone could help me figure it out by then.

      • +1

just get $1.00 sent from any telstra account (gives 14 days extention)

        • Oh nice idea. I only discovered the credit me2u thing yesterday so I was more concerned about siphoning off unused credit from the account and didn't think about using it to prolong credit.

Is there a limit to how many times you can do it? Theoretically I could just bounce credit back and forth every 14 days and maintain 2 Telstra sims for year for $12. ($0.25 transaction fee each time, 24 times for 2 sims). And even keep them on the cheaper to use low expiry date plans.

  • Sorry, could you please spell it out for the n00b here? I have a prepaid Virgin mobile broadband dongle, which expires on Sunday.

    1. Does this discount apply to mobile broadband?
    2. So do I do the following?
      a. Go to the Coles ATM in my local Coles Express servo
      b. Withdraw $200 from my ING acct to avoid ATM charges
      c. I should be presented with an option to print a discount voucher (is it by carrier?)
      d. Would I then go to Virgin's website and pay for another year of credit, and use the voucher code? Or do I use it in store when buying a recharge card?

    Thanks!

    • a. Go to the Coles ATM in my local Coles Express servo

      Yes

      b. Withdraw $200 from my ING acct to avoid ATM charges

      Yes

      c. I should be presented with an option to print a discount voucher (is it by carrier?)

Yes, All 4 carriers are in the voucher

      d. Would I then go to Virgin's website and pay for another year of credit, and use the voucher code? Or do I use it in store when buying a recharge card?

No, you present the voucher at coles express and buy it the recharge there, I am not sure about Virgin, but with telstra you need to say it is for mobile broadband.

      • Great - thanks aldoduco!

      • Hmmm…I got the voucher tonight, all went exactly as expected…except the guy at the counter couldn't find any Virgin mobile broadband recharge items on his register. Only Dodo, Optus, Vodafone and maybe one other.

So either he did it wrong, or I can't get Virgin broadband recharges from Coles Express. I'll try another store tomorrow.

        • Another store gave the same answer. Bummer.

        • @aaarrrnnn

send an email to this addy
          [email protected]

they will tell you for sure if available -they helped me with telstra broadband said to be
          "not available"
must be a weird setup on the screen :-[

  • Slightly off topic, but does anyone know if Harvey Norman are still doing 20% off mobile recharges?

  • Vouchers expiry date are Aug 18/2013. It looks like they are set to expire the same day of the deal.

  • +1

I confirmed it worked at Coles Express Warrigal Road, Oakleigh. I did a balance inquiry(costed me $1) and at the end, there were about 4 vouchers to choose from. The ATM will print the voucher and you can go to the counter to use it. Still saved $3.5 on a $30 recharge! Thanks!

  • Thanks! Saved $22.35 on a $149 broadband recharge for the father in law.
Worked at Coles Express Mountain Highway, Bayswater 3153.
