Good price. Fabulous machine (very big - makes the Galaxy Note look small) - only let down by the Aussie version 1/2 RAM and Storage (compared to the original Chinese 2GB and 16GB Storage). You will struggle to have 300MB Free RAM even after a reboot and not enough to run a few browser tabs. Latest update does free up a bit of memory - but still isnt that much more usable.

    • bchliu , did lightake shipped your Neo yet? I found a site willing to root the phone for few dollars more. They currently have non in stock, but might have some next week.

  • This isn't 2GB RAM? What a waste then.

  • nice deal. a little off topic. how does ones carry such around phone around? man bag?

      • you've researched this issue thoroughly haven't you… hehehe

        • Love to see some people attached a "Designed in California" tag with a fruit logo and then see them literally fly off the shelves…

      • Android needs more phone in this form factor 6",
        apart from the silly ram..(Huawei]

  • Is there any custom rom support for this? Or would you have to use what comes with it?

They battery life sounds amazing, this review mentions 2 days of regular usage: http://www.gadgetguy.com.au/product/huawei-ascend-mate-mt1-u…

Too bad it isn't the 2GB RAM version.

    • Guess no custom mod, if cyanogen mod does not support, most other mods are unlikely to work on this phone.

  • DOA with 8gb memory.

It goes to all of that trouble reducing screen resolution down to 241 ppi (when it WOULd have been 361 ppi) yet cannot make an allowance for 2gb ram. Another putative example why it is instructive to shun brand name.

     sqrt((1080^2) + (1920^2)) / 6.1 =
     361.132322964 aka: FHD

  • Oh dear this phone costs more in dollars than it has to offer pixels per-inch, that's leaving aside memory requirements.
