Oops, up voted you by accident.

But in honestly dude, take your views elsewhere. It's one free burger - not free maccas for life. Live a little, geez!

    • +4

joke's on you if you get a heart attack from one big mac

        • +2

umad? pity you can't buy a sense of humour.

Also, I think my point is sweeping over your head somewhere. Enjoy your 'meat'

oh, and that comment of yours was "respectful"?

you know, we see these anti-fast food comments from holier-than-thou, preachy food snobs EVERY time a fast food-related deal is posted. what next, an asinine assumption that everyone who upvoted this deal is hideously obese?

        • +2

          I found the joke funny?
          Like bad luck brian…
Maybe you should do a bad luck brian joke and maybe they might get it? :p

          Wins Free Big Mac
          [Image]
Dies of a heart attack :p

        • -3

probably….also…less coffee and stay clear of maccas = Happiness!

        • I'd tend to agree with that actually, even if I'm not addicted to either. Still not gonna diss it if it's a bargain/free

    • I hope you get a heart attack anyway.

    • +1

      Aww, poor baby

  • +1

    thanks OP

  • "Limit of 800,000 Big Mac vouchers in Aust. excl. SA." So I presume they aren't valid in SA?

    • +3

No they are, 800,000 limit throughout non-SA Australia, 100,000 limit in NZ and unlimited in SA.

      • Brb Adelaide.

        • saving one just for you! SA has your belly…. I mean back!!!

  • Why does it say:

Redeem and swipe your voucher when asked by crew after placing your order"

You can't swipe the image. There's no barcode or anything to scan it. So they would have to manually type the code in.

    • Think- how many teenage Shelia's would be bothered to enter a [Long] digit code, when they have 15 people waiting to be served(and even so they probably don't have the facility to enter codes)

      • -5

WTF? You are suggesting that young girls are incapable of entering 15 digit sequences?
You would probably be shocked to see all the brilliant female maths/science graduates these days.

        • +4

          that's not what he meant.

        • OK, probably I am wrong.
          Good! lol.

        • considering mobile phone vouchers are probably 16 digit…..I'm sure they can handle it :P

  • Wow Macca's are really in damage control due to the situation at Tecoma! I've seen more Macca's ads, free coke glasses and burgers than I ever have in the last 3 months than I've seen in the last 3 years!

    • Whats Tecoma? What happened there? Edit - scratch that, just read something in The Age

And the reason for Macca's drastic discounting, according to a US Earnings Shareholder meeting last week, was that 25% of Australian youth are unemployed.

      • Geez domcc1, how cynical!

Our 25% youth unemployment rate may not directly relate to our ballistic obesity rates but hey, it's not quite a crisis yet.

Why shouldn't hundreds of specialists in PR, advertising and social media campaigns engage loyal McFanboys in a chant promotion where falsifying coupons is a fun weekend acivity?

Especially when they can win the hearts and minds of the less enthusiastic, casual consumer.

I wonder if this philanthropy/charity extends to the EU, US (higher unemployment) and Japan where they've been in recession for over a decade?

        To quote Robin Williams:
        "Have a Happy McDay!"

        • Where can I find a link on the 25% youth unemployment rate.

          Isn't it higher than that.

        • +1

          I was quoting cheapy

according to a US Earnings Shareholder meeting last week, was that 25% of Australian youth are unemployed.

      • then how about McDonalds offers us jobs instead of free burgers ;)

  • +3

If you have multiple emails u can have unlimited big macs

  • thanks kendoggs youre the best

  • After using son's Facebook log in (he doesn't use it!), I clicked on the "Or just Click Here" to print, did so and it doesn't really print a voucher (although it says "Here's your Big Mac Voucher … name"), but gives a code and expiry date. Hope that is enough for son to use; doesn't have smartphone.

    • The voucher (with your Facebook name and voucher #) printed sufficient information to work. Used the voucher at the drive through yesterday - worked quite fine.

  • -2

Can we replace BEEF patties by Chicken OR Veggie?

    • -1

      no.

    • I don't remember maccas ever having veggies patties. please correct me if I'm wrong.

  • I just had to argue a lot to use a print out at the corner of Albert & Elizabeth St Brisbane, Manager kept saying I had to use a smart phone

  • +1

Just support the competition and vote and you'll get your own voucher to redeem. There is a few good ones but definitely most are a bit lame

  • +1

    Lol site is down..

  • Redeemed in Melbourne central, but asked to purchase something in order to fulfil the redemption.. bought a small fries..

  • It's times like this when I wished I had a printer to print out the voucher

    • +2

      officeworks.

8c per b&w a4. if you're printing out more than one voucher just stick 4 of them on a single page pdf. and get a free coffee too while you're there ;)

  • I got my voucher printed. It is now however showing as "Redeemed" under my account.

I hope they honour the printed voucher.

    • +1

Yep mine did the same. Will be fine, got mine with no probs

    • Ofcourse, otherwise people would keep printing the same voucher over and over again. You can always scan it or photocopy it so you can use it multiple times.

    • Same thing happened when I printed voucher, "Redeemed"; voucher was accepted with no problems.

  • Looks like its been taken down, maybe 800000 limit has been reached.
    http://bigmacchant.com/takedown.html

    • Maybe they're aware that people are doing to dodge, my legitimate voucher is no longer working either

    • +1

Times like those you are lucky you live in SA

      vouchers unlimited in SA.

      • Yes…because a Free Big Mac offsets being a South Australian.

      • +3

Yeah Yeah I think we all get the picture now

  • Thanks! Just eating it now and thinking how awesome OP is. Havent had one of these in ages, yum! :)

  • 2 Big Macs down… I think that's enough for today… Okay just one more :|

  • Thanks Guys, I had one free Big Mac at Sydney Harbourside around 2pm but now the webpage is taken down… … .

  • I want to redeem my voucher.
    Nek minnut. Sites down.
    FML.

  • +1

McDonald in tuart hill were being abit anal about the picture. But as the queue was piling up in the drive thru the "manager" relented and gave up

    • went past there on the way home…no problems at all :)

  • It says "redeemed" before I headed to macca. ?? ???

    • Same thing happened to us when I printed; it should be accepted fine … ours was.

  • Working again now, my voucher is back

  • Just got my 5th free Big Mac in 24 hours using same voucher at same store. (Some were for friends!)
I go to swipe legit voucher (from last night) on phone & they say don't bother :)

    • +4

We (checkout girls, manager & I) tried, but swiping voucher is not supported on Windows Phone. At last I found something the WP is good for.

      • Mine is a $25 Android (OB deal of course) which can swipe, but staff just say use it again!

    • +2

Tried another store with same voucher (just for fun) - no need to swipe. They didn't even look at phone, just gave me a free Big Mac.

Surprised an old man with my gift of a burger. Guess someone will now complain I am killing the elderly :-)

      • +1

Took it to the next level & tried with no voucher showing on phone.
Just said I had a voucher but could not access it, so a free Big Mac please.
(Could not then access vouchers on maccas free WiFi.)
Manager was called. He said there was no process for this situation, and how could he know I would not use the voucher again… um… OK.

So got a free Big Mac without a voucher after about 1 minute chat :-)

People like @brucefromaustralia , the taxpayers will be so happy at paying for your medicare bills.

    • +6

Pretty offensive remark MasterNoob! I did say Some were for friends!
Based on your reasoning, maybe unhappy taxpayers should chip in for your glasses or reading / comprehension lessons??

About second burger of the year for me! (6 burgers & 4 pizzas /yr is my limit)
Not a friend of Fast Food, but if its free… OK in moderation. But always popular with many on OB ;)

Since you have opened this up for debate, I hope you are eating those 7 serves of vegies & fruit a day as recommended - I am. (What was that old saying about casting the first stone… or that other one Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged?)

My point was not my relatively strict & mainly healthy dietary habits, but the more useful fact at least 1 maccas in Brissie repeatedly does not bother about swiping voucher to cancel it, they just hand over free Big Macs! Worth looking out for in other outlets.

        • I've been praying for that :-)

        • No one can argue with that. Why so many negs?

    • +1

While this is a pretty harsh call, there's definitely a large number of people on here and in the community who look to fast food on a daily basis. The popularity of Dominos is just disgusting. The % increase in consumption of pre-processed and fast foods is a HUGE reason why type2 diabetes is at epidemic levels.

      • +1

But to make a personal attack that I am unhealthy & a drain on taxpayers, based solely on a post where I picked up a small number of burgers for myself & friends is outrageous.

To make a general observation like you did is quite valid & is of benefit to this community. If it wasn't hidden away by the negs it may have generated discussion. But those most in need of the warning usually are least likely to take notice of it.

  • cheers op

  • they give away a lot of card at circular quay this afternoon

  • Worked at swanston / lonsdale store, guy swiped my screen 4 me.

  • So does a print out work or do Mcd not like this?

    • The printout worked fine for us yesterday afternoon (Cranbourne)in the drive through. The checkout guy handed it to his manager for approval. The printout has your Facebook name (used my son's as I am not into Fakebook) on it as well as a voucher number; so I guess they could ask for proof of identification if they were suspect. I did buy an apple pie too but I don't think that was essential.

  • Voucher prints fine on Chrome.. IE prints the offer page

  • Please note that using a program to generate vouchers that are not coming McDonald's IS FRAUD. Please do not post links to websites generating vouchers.

    • -6

Sure. The Federal Police will be busy working towards a solution to all these unlawful, free Big Macs. Please.

      • A website that discusses methods to commit fraud… how long do you think it will operate before the authorities shut it down?

  • McDonalds Flemington accepts print outs both in store and through drive through.

Although the drive through lady had no idea about the promo, she asked her manager and he just told her to put it through, no checks.

  • +3

Thanks OP, got my free big mac today without hassles. Funny thing was, both the checkout chick and the manager had no clue about this promotion even though there were posters of it in their store!

  • for those printing the vouchers they validate them by the "i'm lovin it" inside the box when printing in black and white that part of the coupon doesn't really come through that well or not at all, one way I've got around this is installing a virtual printer which can save the voucher as an image file then using an image editor that supports layers copy the "i'm lovin it" area to another layer and setting that layer to multiply then duplicating that until you think it is dark enough to work.

    • i printed it out on b&w laser and the i'm lovin it bit comes through quite clearly.

    • I printed mine out on regular ink jet, came out alright.

EDIT: black and white as well.

    • must just be my printer then

  • -3

Anyone had luck changing them for something else? Say a mc chicken. I've been refused twice in two stores.

    • +4

Is this a serious question? It's a Big Mac offer so I'm not surprised lol

      • What if you're Hindu? Don't they believe that cows are sacred?

Alternatively, you could be like me — sick of Big Macs and wanting a McChicken for variety and mayonnaise!

        • -1

Its flavoured cardboard, i'm sure that dosen't break any rules?

    • has any store allowed you to do that so far?
also, did you offer to pay the difference on the swap?

      • -2

no. but one store did try before rejecting.

fast food operators are like lotto, sometimes you get lucky and they let you have what you want.

        • i find it's hard enough getting claiming the freebies in the first place without trying to do swapsies so i'll just take my big mac and be done with it lol

        • Fair enough! Get sick of Big Macs after awhile. :P. no harm asking anyway.

        • +2

Yeah I always feel (and probably act) like a naughty child whenever I claim free food or obtain a massive discount voucher (possibly how genuine homeless people might feel people judging them). I don't buy extras because I really am cheap and would never visit these fast-food chains unless it was free or near-free (and I'd stopped ingesting so-called "empty carbohydrates" on a daily basis quite a while back).

Whenever I approach the counter like I did today, I remind myself who I am and present this character at the counter with full confidence and self-acceptance - a tight-arse.
