I got a Grand Angus burger just then.
But I think they accidentally gave me the wrong burger…. :P
I tried for that, offered to pay the difference between the Grand Angus. Even a bit extra on top of ($1.50). Refused. Then tried to get a McChicken instead. Again palmed off. So got the Big Mac in the end, without the sauce. Free so can't complain, but it was more than awkward as the manager had to be called because the person wasn't sure she could do it then the swap was rejected.
Stay classy.
Manager was happy to give me a fillet-o-fish, was the catch of the day, delicious too.

Went to 2 stores in Canberra (Manuka and Fyshwick) both refused to accept the print out and demanded it must be swiped in front of them. The douchebag from Fyshwick even said "oh everybody want free shit and if you use the print one, you can go get 4 millions of them" etc.

Dunno bout all the politics but I just enjoyed a free Big Mac for lunch from Kilsyth VIC. Manager knew nothing of the offer (didn't see any posters either) but she put it through as $0.00. No swipe required, maybe I'll get one for dinner too!

I got my Big Mac fine using my phone.
Strange thing though, when I opened the burger to remove the pickle it had a chunk of meat taken out as if someone had bitten the patty… would you still have eaten it? should I complain? Lol.

Would usually be no problem to replace.
So complain, its helpful so the store can improve.
Worst thing for a business is if a customer has a genuine issue, does not complain, but tells others to avoid the business.
The patty probably split on the grill, I wouldn't be overly concerned since they have cameras in the kitchen. Besides it is so hot off the grill it would burn your tounge.

People who want to take advantage of this freebie shouldn't wait around too long. I claimed two burgers using the same voucher today because the crew members don't appear to require the phone to be swiped. That means you can use the same voucher over and over again, with no daily limits. If they do this at other McDonalds too then that total of 800,000 free Big Macs on offer won't last too long.
Very much doubt they'd be keeping a tally of vouchers presented in-store. More likely to be counted when issued, rather than when redeemed.
I was thinking they'd keep a tally through the cash register - each time they punch in $0 Big Mac that information gets relayed through their intranet to some office. Although I'm only assuming they have this, since many large corporate chains do - I've never worked at McDonalds myself so don't know for sure.
But if they aren't keeping track that way, and are only counting vouchers issued - that would be wonderful(not so for my local McDonalds)
Posted above about multiple use of vouchers. No one wanted me to swipe, and some staff encouraged me to use again. Have redeemed 5 times on just 1 voucher & even got another Big Mac without showing voucher :-)

Went to use my voucher today… at sydney airport… showed them the page on my iphone and didnt even have to do the redeem… also happily changed to 2 grilled chicken patties instead of regular beef patties without any cost… just asked nicely…

Its possible i used some zen voodoo bargain mind trick ~ basically bluffing a reassuring belief that it was correct to accept the free big mac, and allow me to change to the double chicken of my choice, and without a need to redeem the voucher as i calmly put the phone away…

the first store i claim a freebie from, i can't help feeling a bit nervous. but after that, i stride in there, bold as brass, give them the voucher and politely ask for it.
