"One time purchase for the life of your PC; non-transferrable." - DRM? I hate DRM.

I'll stick to 2010, they barely make decent changes anyway.

2010 was the last Office I bought, mainly because of the HUP deal at the time was around $5 for the whole collection. I haven't even activated it yet (bought it years ago) as I'm still using 2007 ($40 through itsnotcheating.com.au) which could be installed on 3 computers at once before needing to deactivate the licence on one machine if a 4th one was needed.

Now days it's all about Open Office anyway. The compatibility is great and it's really starting to gain traction among businesses. Microsoft shot themselves in the foot with their pricing schemes and 'cloud' based models.

Actually.. That statement is no longer correct. MS caved to consumer backlash and removed the limitation. You can transfer it every 90 days, or sooner if hardware failure.

You are however restricted to only installing on one device at a time, whereas Office 2010 could be installed on 2 or 3 devices (depending on version).

    Haha no.

Also, what the hell are with the colour schemes for Office 2013?
    They should be renamed:
    1 - White
    2 - Blinding White
    3 - Searing White
4 - Destroy Your Face White
5 - Brighter Than The Surface Of The Sun White

      And those tab titles.

FILE Home INSERT DESIGN TRANSITIONS ANIMATIONS

In all caps. Seriously, talk about design inconsistency. In every other Windows desktop app, the ribbon tabs are in proper lower case, except for Office 13.

Did they pick up some high school graduates for their UX design team?

Graphics hardware acceleration requires a DirectX10 graphics card and 1024 x 576 resolution
What frame rates are people getting for this on their graphic cards?
I have a Nvidia GTX 485m, and not sure if it can handle the graphic load?

    • I think you can speed it up by turning off enemy AI

    Good God Jim…

People have less than 1gb of ram these days? Given it lists windows 7 and 8 under supported OS why would anyone even be thinking about installing this with less than 1gb of ram?

  • Got it for $40 a few months back.

  • $15 / $30 with MS HUP
