Nexus 7 32GB (2013) with 7" Full HD $339 + Delivery [PCCG]

260

It does say it is a pre-order, but has ETA: 29/08/13

I'm not 100% sure it's Australian Stock (maybe a store rep can confirm), but for $50 more than the Kogan deal and ~$39 more than the B&H deal for double the storage and possible local pick up, I think it is worth it provided you are looking for a new tablet.

There is also:

  • 16Gb for $299
  • 32Gb + LTE for $439
(just watch out for the different ETAs if you don't want to wait)

edit:
also available at…
PLE, MLN, Scorptec
…for the same price.
(Thanks to @AlexF & @PissLUR for pointing this out)

PCCG rocks, but is this a deal? Is it less expensive that what you can get from Google?

  • edit sorry i posted 16gb.

  • +6

For 16GB it's the cheapest to buy from Amazon (~$276 shipped at the moment). Too bad 32GB is temporarily out of stock at the moment.

    • Thanks Scotty,
bought one from Amazon cos I need to buy few items as well from there so the combine postage is quite cheap.
      Cheers,…

      • Update
Just receive it this afro..nice looking tablet…took about a week to arrive and $8 postage.

I'm hoping Officeworks receives stock of the Nexus 7 (2013) either on release day, or a week or two after.

Will be looking to price match the cheapest Aust retailer, which will enable to receive 5% staff discount + 5% ING cashback.

    • how do you use 5% ing cashback? isnt paywave for $100 or less?

      • +6

Either ask to split it, or buy a few $99 gift card before

        • +2

Yep, either of those two options.

I think buying it locally (through price matching, or what have you be) is the best option considering the well documented first batch issues with the new Nexus 7 (dead pixels, bleeding light, etc). Would be an extreme headache trying to send it back O/S to claim warranty (or even sending it locally interstate for that matter).

        • buying gift cards with ing cashback is an EXCELLENT idea. Thank you. Before my card offer expires I'll buy a few of those from various retailers to extend the deal

        • Is it possible to use gift cards to purchase goods, and to get a GST refund under the Tourist Refund Scheme?
You need a valid tax invoice from the one Australian Business Number retailer and the total value of goods purchased is $300 or more (including GST). And to wear or carry the goods. But it seems to me that the goods that you purchased and paid GST on were the gift cards - or not?? EDIT: OOPS! Just found the answer. Not eligible for TRS "gift cards/vouchers (although goods purchased with gift cards/vouchers are eligible for a refund subject to all TRS requirements being met)"

    • I don't think you can use price match (beat the price match by 5%) and further use 5% staff discount…

    • I've been hoping this too, plus if you going overseas in next 60 days get back gst. You end up paying less than US price that way.

  • if only this has hdmi output. i would jump on it straight way

    • Just get the chromecast when it's available and stream to it wirelessly.

      • Chromecast isn't quite as robust as HDMI Out, though, nor is it as simple.

      It does. Called slimport

      • Sorry, new to this tablet. How does slimport work? It uses wires or cables? If so, where can I get a cable for the tablet? Also my brother has a really nice Nexus 7 first generation leather case. Can I use it on the Nexus 7 2?

        • +1

          slimport link : http://www.mln.com.au/product/?itemID=4472

you can get it cheaper on ebay.

and afaik nexus 7 first gen cover wont fit this one.

        • thank you very much. didnt know nexus 7 2 and first generation are different in dimension. really want get one now after reading the reviews

    • The n7 2013 has miracast as well, you can mirror your display onto a TV via wifi.

If only it had expandable memory slot for micro sd and hdmi I would certainly jump on this deal…

If only it printed money I would jump on it like a trampoline.

Lol if only it took my Miss's dress shopping i'd jump on her, I mean it.

When is the australian launch date for N7?

  • +1

Currently in the US and many units have light bleed issues in the top of the screen appears to QC issue in the first batch, that said have seen another from the second batch with the same issue. Pressure on the top portion appears to be the cause.

    • Thought there were issues with the touch functionality of the screen, plus something else, can't remember if it was GPS or Wi-Fi too. I do want one of these tablets, but I think I'll wait a few more weeks. Is there any word of the Australian launch date?

    • Dead pixels and dust under the screen are other reported issues currently have one, with a bright pixel and heavy bleeding, is going back to best buy for exchange.

    • This is common with all asus tablets that my family has (old nexus 7, transformer prime, vivotab smart). It's really frustrating, they should really improve their QC

      • Yep, it took me 5 returns to get N7 (2012) version without a dead pixel.

5 returns! I heard that they accept a certain level of flawed panels because they would rather supply the demand and sell a lot more and have several returns.

    • Well in that case, I'm going to wait a few months and let them get it sorted out first.

  • Been using my Nexus 2 for about 3 weeks and nothing wrong ATM. Must have gotten the lucky batch then :)

    • +8

Nexus 2? That thing must be tiny at 2"

    • +1

Same here. Got one from Best Buy and had no problems, no light bleed.

  • +3

Normal price (Scorptec, MLN, PLE, etc) - not a bargain.

  • -1

8" and I would have bought one.

  • +1

note that PCCG charge a credit card surcharge as well as a paypal surcharge

  • Review:
    http://www.anandtech.com/show/7231/the-nexus-7-2013-review/

Although people seem to love the Nexus devices regardless I think this is a very good device, much better than the original

  • So many 7" deals so few good 10" deals. Actually can't remember the last time I saw someone with a 7" tablet on a bus or train.

    • +9

thats because they fit in their pockets

      • -1

Of course cos they get so little use out of it,

  • +2

Just picked mine up from MLN in Richmond, VIC

    $439 for the 32GB LTE.

    LOVING IT!!!!!!
    (You all will too!!!)

    • Even Big Kev is EXCITED!

  • How does this get 21 likes? it is the same price everywhere, and PC Case gear were not even first to get the stock in Australia?
Nowhere near a bargain at all.

    • +1

How is this a valid reason to neg?
It's not cheaper at ple. Shipping is actually more expensive at ple, their eta is 3/9/2013.

      • -1

its cheaper for anyone from wa.

  • Computer Alliance in Brisvegas are showing these prices too. I rang them tonight, they said they had no ETA on stock - I asked them about the 12th of September date that's been in the press but they hadn't even heard that. I'm just hoping that everyone here is selling Australian stock (which is the European model), the US model has different LTE support I believe.

  • It is supposedly launched in Aus retailers now at $299 for the 16GB model and $339 for the 32GB model, at JD Hifi, Dick Smith and Harvey Norman, this is just based on a few tech articles and I haven't checked in-store and their websites don't say anything about the release yet, but I'll try their stores today.

  • Can anyone confirm the Nexus 7 is physically in stores? The google site still says 'coming soon' for this range http://www.google.com.au/nexus/7/
even though http://www.news.com.au/technology/tablets/google8217s-new-ne… has stated it has been released!?

Update: I just spoke to JB HiFi Airport West (VIC) who stated they DO NOT have physical stock yet, but are likely to have received their shipment Tues/Wednesday of next week! They said they would only carry the 32GB models (WiFi $338 and WiFi+LTE $438).

    • Well, not sure about in store, but from the looks of it will be out very soon(since the removed older model on the page). Not much point getting grey stocks as of now when the price is probably almost the same.

Edit: Didn't see that this might be oz stock
