I guess it's ok for those who have already bought it.

I'd rather go MSY or Dealextreme for a longer cable at a similar price. At least there's a high chance they'll have them.

It's not out of stock, the deal has finished as it was only until midnight. The same deal is on tomorrow from 9am. [Its a daily deal from 9am to midnight, 6 and 7 April]

I think there will still be free shipping as it's after midnight and it's still working. Try tomorrow morning :)

Also check your facts, Dealextreme is not comparable unless you consider paying at least double for the same length a "similar price". You're also looking at a much longer postage time.

Re MSY, yep it would be comparable but not all of us have the luxury of driving there, parking, finding the item, lining up to pay etc. Or if you're like me, you prefer to spend your time doing more important or enjoyable things.

  I stand corrected, DX is a bit more that what CrazyStu is offering. But all the cables on offer are longer than 1m.
  
  Also, both MSY and DX have them available any time. CrazyStu is only 1-2 day special promotion.

    I went to 2 MSY and emailed all Victorian stores, and they didn't have them last Friday.
    Can't tell me when stock will arrive.
    So either wait, fingers crossed, that stock will come in, and you're lucky enough to pick one up, or pay another $7-8 and get them delivered to your door!

      I am sure, you can always add it into your cart, but you can not go through the checkout. Actually the guy named "choppy" has indicated the 10 stock limit in another thread. It was a good price, but not a great deal due to the very limited stock.
      By the way, it is out of stock now. Just buy from MSY if there is s store nearby.

Just called them and was told they only have about 20 or so a day at $5. They can't sell anymore at that price.
Cables are 50% off though and with free shipping, still seems like a bargain.
Just bought the 1.8m cable for $12.70 (1.85% cc surcharge).
Best price for 1.8m is at least $20.

Went to 2 MSY and emailed all Victorian ones, all sold out and don't know when more stock will arrive. Who knows when they'll get more…

I think if you're only going to offer a small number you ought to say so (having said that I got one). Is the economy in Australia so bad that we need to resort to Russian style marketing tricks (a reference to the 5 laptop sale a while ago in Moscow that caused a stampede).

  and having said I got one - I mean I was lucky enough to pay for one - but not receive it. I did get the other (pretty average quality) cables in my order but not the $5 one in this deal. I have asked Crazy Stu about it, but received no reply (after about a week).
  
  It's how you deal with things that go wrong that are the measure of a retailer, not the endless cut price goods on offer. Luckily it was only $5 (maybe that's what they're counting on - $5 x however many orders).

    A late follow up on this - they did send the missing cable, but not before making a rather harassing phone call and grumbling about my comments on here. Not impressed.

This was posted 15 years 23 days ago, and might be an out-dated deal.
