  • presume no touch screen.

Quick poll to Ozbargainers on election day

    • for a cheap laptop - is touch screen or no touch screen a deal breaker for you?
    • +4

For a laptop, no touchscreen is not a deal breaker. For any form of convertible, yes, no touchscreen would be a deal breaker.

    • if it's a cheapo it's fine. I mean Windows 8 is definitely useable on a touchpad, and if it means more batt life even better.

for people who have windows 8 touchscreen laptops how often would you reach over to scroll/tap/etc as opposed to using the touchpad?

Depends on the carbon tax credits.

    • No

    • I'd rather it without a touchscreen.

    • you cant use a mouse, keyboard and touchscreen all at the same time:(

atleast until they start letting you grow extra body parts etc - http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/2011/03/big-idea/organ-reg…

      so no

Worth mentioning the $1 extra to get some noise canceling headphones deal

  • I ordered about 4 weeks ago, took my money, never replied still chasing. Lenovo online suck.

  • The clickpad on the E531 is awful bordering on unusable - I could never get it to register right clicks the first time and it has an unusually long travel for a click to be registered.

You can get a Lenovo B590 from MSY which has near identical specs (but 7 Pro with an 8 Pro upgrade) plus a usable touchpad with actual buttons for $599 which I would recommend over this.

  • Must get the 15.6" FHD Display (1920 x 1080) , otherwise the screen will fxck your eyes (forgive my rudeness). bought the E530 last year with most advanced hardwares at that time except the shitty HD screen, sold it after half-year use. the E5xx thinkpad is way too hugeeeeeeee, and the build quality is Samsung alike….

T series is the spirit of Thinkpad.
