    Hi everyone,

    I was looking at a modem/router which has a USB port to connect a USB drive and share the content over the network, without leaving a server computer on.

    One important question which I can't get the answer off google is does the USB drive spin down if no access is made to it?

    Sorry to post it here, but I figured some might know the answer, looking for products on this posting.

    [Edit - more googling suggest that this is not easy or possible unless it is built in by USB enclosure. Probably will give these a miss]

    Give Dlink a call if anyone is having probs with slow dispatch etc. They are pretty good with getting back to you and updating. Their updates on the net are quite sucky though.
