  • Nice, any agency offering the 100buck bet with a 30 deposit only, not 50, has my business..

  • Yeah, like most Aussies, I like to have a wager every now and then.

  • isn't there usually a catch with these. Something about not being able to take back the money that you win the bonus under X circumstances?

    • walugi: Yeh you only keep the winnings hence the free bet. So pick an even money ($2.00) bet to win and you end up keeping $100.

      • and you usually have to turn over the bonus bet X amoutn of times

    • +1

if you win you have to turn over at least once your winnings again to withdraw. Max odds you can bet at is 101:1

      • so basically i have to bet on something $1+ odds, once. Right?

        • +1

well you would have to bet on something with those odds anywayz….
LOL, i cant imagine anyone betting on Geelong at 0.86 (they would loose money if they won)
But yes, and you keep teh profit minus the 100 free bet

  • cool, thanks. Anyone know some sure things? ;-)

    • i won my free bet by betting on a soccer game, the odds are usually extremely one sided, like 1.86 v 8.23, i.e. $86 return to your account.

    • "sure things" no such thing. Geelong by 25+ over coll at 2.12 looks ok.

      • Not with their ruckman out, Richmond nearly came over the top of them when Ottens came off the ground….

      • and not to mention the score last time they played in 2008
        Collingwood 134 vs Geelong 48
Im not a collingwood supporter but they do have the best record against Geelong out of every team.
In the last 4 outings Geelong have one 2 by most 20 points and Collingwood have won 2 as well but by at least 80 points so i wouldn't really say this is a safe bet :p

  • i have joined up to a shitload of sportsbetting sites. the safest way to do it is by depositing X amount of money, then bet ur freebet. In order to claim ur winnings u usually have to turn the winnings over once. Just bet that on odds of $1.01

A lot of these sports books require the "free bet" to have odds of minimum $2 instead of the 10x turnover that the online casinos have. I signed up under a different site and got West Brom Albion at $2.32 to finish dead last in the English Premier League - looking good so far!
And I remember a few years ago one of these "Sure Things" - bet your free bet on something paying $1.01 and laugh all the way to the bank. I know, lets bet on Australia to beat Bangladesh in the one dayer - how could we loose????…..

How was I supposed to know Andrew Symonds was feeling thirsty?

    • And when it comes down to it, do you really wanna pay 30 into an account, set it all up, verify it , all for a possible $10 win?

      • its true

i fluked it once had G.Ablett @ $5ish for most goals one day against dons and lucus hit the post twice in the last min

its about waiting for the perfect time (perhaps inside info) before you use the free bet then turning over the cash on someone like fed express 06-08

      • $10 win? The sure thing bet is just the one that secures it. If you really want toy allowed to bet upto odds of 101:1 according to the terms there. You can make alot more than $10 back if your keen to have a go (or alternatively lose the lot)

Exactly my thoughts swimmingtoad. If you played it safe, you might come out with $20 max, is it really worth setting it all up for that? You are more likely to lose your $30 in the first place.

    Here is an example:

30min verification time + $30 to start off

You get = $130 to bet with.
You put $130 on Geelong to beat Collingwood at $1.35 (current rate)
Geelong win (not 100% guaranteed either!)
    You are credited into your account $30 x $1.35 = $40.50 + $100 (sportsbet cash) x .35 = $35.00
Total funds of yours if Geelong win $75.50
    Minus your original $30 investment

= $45.50 total return. HOWEVER, according to Sportsbet T&C, you must "turn over" those funds at least once to get them put back into your account, so you then need to place another low return/greater probability bet to get the money back into your bank account.

So all up, you have a 'fair' chance of making approx $50 but can also loose your initial $30 just as easily if one of your bets are wrong. Sheesh, sorry that wasn't meant to be so long!

    • But look at it this way - if you were going to bet on Geelong anyway $30 at $1.35 means you win only $10.50. Like all gambling, you have to assume you have lost the money already - and anything that comes back is a bonus.

      • that and your betting safely so of course the winnings wont be huge. If you want more you have to be more adventurous or patient. What if you bet on something thats $8.00 or something to win?

It's gambling, it's not meant to be a sure thing or noone would make money

  • You know the economy is down when there is so much positive chat about a gambling site:
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/9808

  • Like any other Australian Betting site, DO NOT Deposit any money until you send them Identification Documents by postal mail & "Get Verified" FIRST, to:

    Sportingbet Australia
    PO Box 700
    Parap
    NT 0804
    Australia

If you send them money and do not succeed in getting Verified for any reason, YOU HAVE LOST ALL YOUR MONEY!

    • The only reason you wont get verified is if you cannot provide satisfactory 100point Id….

      • Or if Sportingbet choose to delay it as much as legally possible to keep your money.

It took TWO WEEKS for them to confirm my ID.

        Which is why I say:

Confirm your ID before you deposit any of your hard-earned money with them.
