How do you know that it will work on 5s?

    • -1

Probably cause its got the same lightening connection or whatever its called…

    • Good Question - I don't.

However - Lightning cable is the standard used and I would be disappointed if it does not work. These cables should work with all lightning devices to charge and sync.

      • +1

LOL. You should really do your homework - the latest iOS update "disabled" a lot of non-certified cables.
Yes - Lightning is a standard. And all cables which meet the standard can have MFi logo.

        • They work on 5S fellas, cables are good quality. Jake was also really fast to respond to my emails, definitely recommend.

Very good - and yes some people won't mind waiting 2 weeks to receive the product.
However some people will enjoy receiving the product within 2-3 days and everything is backed by a 30-day LOCAL money back guarantee.

        won't mind waiting 2 weeks

If you're lucky, it can be here in under a week from China… But on most occasions closer to a month!

  • +1

the cable itself will work, just possibly only slow charge.
You need the 3v on the data pins from an official charger.

For more info, look up the mintyboost project.

Cables seem OK though; but it is cheaper if shipping time is no concern….

$6 each and $11 for 2 seems like a deal if you were gonna group buy. But I dont know your wholesale cost, so meh.

    I'll let myself out.

    • Thanks MasterScythe,

I appreciate your concern and I have tested this on an iPhone 5 and the charge time did not seem to differ from the official Apple cables - plus you get to strut a groovy accessory.

Okay - You asked for it - 2 for $11 - discount will automatically be applied at checkout - for order more than 2 the same $3 discount will apply.

      Thanks,

      Jake

    • 10 for US$17.80 shipped at aliexpress

      • Then wait to see if anything actually turns up… aliexpress is littered with scammers from my experience.

Perhaps if we didn't all jump down the throats of Australian suppliers/retailers, and get into a hissy fit over $3 .vs. a week's extra shipping, we'd encourage more Australian businesses here? (and thanks Jake)

I must say, although kind of old fashioned, I like the idea of the nylon cord. Very much over the rubber sheathes splitting near the connector!

  • Please change the spelling of meter, or take down the map of oz and put the mighty usa up there.

    Just ordered a couple

    • How many metered metres are there in a meter?

      Done, Thanks for your help

  • .

    • Thanks Charles,

There is a slideshow on the product page showing the different colors. The Bitsa Black one has a white and black pattern throughout the cable, whereas Black as Black is solid black.

      I hope this helps!

      Thanks,

non apple cables can ruin your phone. not worth the risk.

    • +1

Please explain your theory in detail BlackWalnut…I am eager to hear details

I've used many non-genuine cables with all my phones right back to a iPhone 3 and never had a problem with them doing anything bad to the phone..the only issue I usually have is these cheap cables simply falling apart at the phone end, but I can buy 5-15 (depending on price) non-genuine cables for the price of one genuinse so it doesn't matter if they call apart now and then.

    • And I second Scratch2ks comments. Same issue I have with the cheap rubber ones. Occasionally I've had one that didn't want to sync or charge, but that comes from buying a $1 cable! My iPhone 4 is still going strong!

    • From personal experience it's the generic/non-genuine chargers that have killed my phone (I used a genuine USB cord in a non-genuine charger in a 3GS) - the battery lierally expanded like a balloon and broke the top and bottom sections apart.

      • I see - I Think in this case it has more to do with the wall charger than the Cable itself.
This could be why apple are offering people to trade in their non-genuine wall chargers for the genuine equivalent.

At this stage jakesbits has no intentions of selling dodgy chargers.

        Thanks,

  • I cant pay~ i get to paypal, keeps saying cant complete~

have these been tested with IOS 7

    • Sean they have not, however from what I can see they will work perfectly except for a notification when you plug it in stating that it is non-genuine.

No affects to the actual charging on iOS7 should be found. If it turns out they do not work - I will refund your purchase.

      Thanks,

    • I'm not saying that it can't somehow detect the difference as I don't know, but how would a piece of software, even an OS know the difference? I imagine the two cables have the exact same amount of wires and connectors in the same setup! That is, unless the Apple ones have something different actually built into them!

      • Yep - as far as I know there is some sort of chip in the connector which has the Apple genuine authentication - or whatever it is.

It's already been cracked too apparently - nice job Apple!

        • I never knew that! Just did some light reading, and there you go!!!

  • Bought two, 2m length should be useful, thanks REP/Jake.

    • My Pleasure - have obviously missed today's post but they will be with you ASAP - Cheers mate.

  • Got 2, thanks Jake. Hope these are better than the 2 I got off eBay for $1. They work, but not when plugged in the first time. Unplug from phone, replug, and voila!

    • +1

I've tested quite a few raghuchary, so far so good.

As Always, if they fail to work we will issue you a refund.

      Thanks,

  • UPDATE - Price is now $7.50 each but 2 for $11 STILL APPLIES!

  • rep have you got a microusb version there? looks good.

  • Does the black one have black plugs?

  • Anyone confirm if these work in IOS7 without any genuine warnings?

    • Well, he is advertising that it works with the 5S (which only comes with iOS 7).

I have ordered 2 cables and I have a 5S, so I'll update everyone on whether it works.

      • Thanks! I'm keen to hear.

      • It would be great!!!
Thank you. I will wait for your feedback.

      • I'm surprised no one has posted back on these cables yet

        • Have you received yours?

        • Not yet, I will see when I get home… They were posted Wednesday morning

        • Thanks.

        • Still waiting for my cables, so damn slow.

        • Oh dear…
I will come back to check later.
