    What benefit is there when e-tax is free? Is it an issue of potentially getting more tax back, or is the process just easier than e-tax?

    Did you guys read it? If the description is correct (and there is no reason to think it wouldn't be), then you can call for advice from an accountant, and every return is checked by an accountant.

    I upvoted since no one else has. I wouldn't use this at all, but it would be useful for someone who hasn't used etax before and is worried about using it. I guess with this site, you enter the same info as etax, with the benefit of being able to ask them questions (as stated in their testimonial) to help you out. Should only need to use them once though, then you should have enough confidence to use etax the next year.

        Not saying I trust this website (people who want to use it can look into that themselves). I know people who use accountants who have very simple tax returns as they think etax is complicated or they will do the wrong thing and get in trouble with the ATO. As much as you try to explain to them how easy it is, they still go to the H&R Block and so on. At least with a site like this (I'm sure there are others out there) it's basically doing etax with a helping hand (if they don't have a friend to sit down next to them to do their tax).

      I couldn't even see an abn on their website and find it unusual to not see a professional accounting body details mentioned when saying qualified accountant.

      I'd want to know more details before handing over all my personal information. At least with the ATO your data should be safe.

    The ATO advises that you should only use Registered Tax Agents. This site claims to have "tax agents", but there is no statement regarding whether they are registered and insufficient details are provided on their web site to enable their registration to be verified through the Tax Practitioners Board search tool:

    Etax is simple to use, even moreso if you have a "typical" simple return. You can auto-fill a lot of data and there are plenty of helpful hints as you go through each stage. The ATO will also provide FREE, COMPREHENSIVE advice to everyone.

    This is one of many 'scams' where they don't provide any additional service to the one the ATO already provides with Etax (http://www.ato.gov.au/Individuals/Lodging-your-tax-return/E-…)

    And the claim of getting an accountant to look at is probably a lie or a misrepresentation at best of the 'service' they provide to you. If anyone feels they need an accountant they should go find a reputable one.

    1. What guarantee that the site is accurate, and is giving you a full refund (and not skimming your refund).
    2. I'd rather have my tax submitted using the official eTax system to ensure it is compliant
    3. Use a local tax accountant (a real life one) if you aren't sure of your tax return. The cost is deductable from next year's return as a cost of managing tax affairs.
    4. "It's checked by an accountant" - a grad working in an Indian shared service centre perhaps…
    5. This is not a deal, just spamvertising.

        ACN and ABN are different. The ABN can be used to look up useful things like whether or not they are registered with the Tax Practitioners Board.
