$5 Statement Credit for Connecting Your AmEx Card to TripAdvisor and Posting a Review

1020

Title almost says all, $5 in total for connecting and posting one review. You need to be a TripAdvisor member first but signing up is simpe and quick….IMO, TripAdvisor is a decent site which i use to do a lot of research when planning trips. Sorry guys, was in a rush and trying to beat potential competitors for posting the deal. After reviewing the T&C, I agree it's $5 in total. Feel free to neg me for this…..

    • 1 of the 9 "perks" only available to Melbourne. Better than no perks though. Thanks mate.

  • I "connected"? through your link> it never said i'd get $5 until my first post> so i've done my first post after signing up and all i saw was 1 $5 statement credit.. how do you get the info for the first connecting $5 prior to the review?

    • I think that's all you get? According to the wording: "Connect your eligible Card, publish your next review, get a $5 statement credit"

    • try go back to your profile now, for me, the additional $5 offer is on the same page.

  • You should get $5 for attaching your AmEx card to the account and another $5 after your first review (assuming it is one of the first 25,000 reviews). Also, it takes 48 hours for a review to be validated and posted so has your review been processed?

  • i presume only AMEX cards not bank issued AMEX cards? i can't find any detail on what is "eligible American Express Card"

    • I had no issues with my Bank issued AmEx.

    • Didn't work for me with my free BMW amex card

      • Worked with my free BMW Amex card, had to wait until my review was approved.

    • Worked with my bank issued AMEX

Why would I want to connect my Amex to TripAdvisor? Any bookings through them are going through a third party anyway, unless they're changing that?

I don't do any bookings through TA but I think one reason why they want to link it up to a real CC may be to ensure that the person reviewing it is a real person. I guess it provides a perhaps false hope that reviews by AmEx people are more 'genuine' and 'trusted'.

To be honest I just want some free cash and my wife is an avid TA reviewer already so I might as well join her.
