Tried price matching at DSE. They gave all stupid excuses.

    • DSE Parramatta simply said they won't price match.

    Price matching isn't a deal.

it isn't if one has to ask, but is when the retailer already has :)

btw nobody else has multifit for $10 afaik?

Went there yesterday and found that OW Blacktown has reduced it to $10 (in their system only) so you could get it for $10 but not $9.5. This is a dup posting http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/118189, people who read that post probably scored a lot already (at least i did :) ).

Price matching isn't a deal and isn't available everywhere as I tried OW Wetherill Park and they wouldn't do it.

    • today? which sim? did they check their system?

  • Would they work in a wifi modem?

    • yes they do.

Thanks "snappy1234"…. just want to use them when traveling around OZ. 2-3 weeks at a time.

  • There seems to be some confusion here as I don't think people are reading carefully enough.

The deal is for a $30 sim for $10 at Officeworks. It's on their site and no pricematch is needed.

The OP is saying that you can try pricematching the Good Guys price (also selling for $10), to make the total $9.50. Given the price is the same, this may not be possible. Mentioning price matching is fine.

Given it's 2 different stores, it doesn't qualify as a duplicate.

    • thanks neil :)

      but

Telstra Pre-Paid $30 Nano SIM Starter Kit

is $30 at officeworks so it can be price-beaten to $9.50 today from the good guys' $10

      • Is it OW policy to beat a competitors price by 5% even if they are the same price for the same item?

        • no

$30 Pre-Paid Nano SIM Starter Kit @ $30 Officeworks, $10 The Good Guys
          $30 Pre-Paid Nano SIM for the iPad @ $10
$30 Pre-Paid Micro SIM for the iPad @ $10, $10 The Good Guys
          $30 Pre-Paid Multi Fit SIM Starter Kit @ $10
          $30 Pre-Paid SIM Starter Kit @ $30

The $30 Pre-Paid Nano SIM Starter Kit is more expensive at Officeworks, thus, Pricematch is available.

Also note that Officeworks are really clamping down on their price match policy. They are pretty much only accepting price matches against big name retailers. They will no longer pricematch many online stores even with delivery cost included, nor will they pricematch MSY or other cheap retailers anymore because they comb over the refund policies of their competitors to find differences such as change of mind returns and restocking fees and deny it based on the fine print of their price match policy.

  • Can these be used for the android market?

    • Depends on which one you get. The pink one I know allows you to activate the $30 as a long life option, enabling the $30 for use on the Play Store.

I noticed now it's a multifit sim rather than a micro sim, but I'm pretty sure that it would still be the same as it is a starter pack for mobiles/tablets and not just for tablets (the ones that can't be used as Play Store credit).

      • Actually, the size of the sim card doesn't matter. Regardless of what prepaid offer you select, the $30 preloaded credit is treated like real money and therefore allows you to spend it on the Play Store. Best way is to activate as a Long Life so you have 6 months to use it up

  • Was at OW in Milton QLD - no multifits but about 4 iPad sims left

  • OzBargainer tip: Worth an ask even if they don't have any, my store had none left but they have one on order for me at the $10 price.

    • You are lucky. My nearest OW wouldn't do that. Had to drive to the other OW to get them.

  • Scooped up 4 from Morayfield OW. They still had roughly 3 left.

Good post, unable to get the net out here as quick as I expected (no ports) so this will come in handy.

Hoping the $30 credit ones mean 3GB as well.

  • For the $30 Pre-Paid Micro SIM for the iPad
can you exchange it for a normal sim or can you recharge it into an existing account?

    • I recharged it onto an existing account via LiveChat with a Telstra rep.
All they need is the info that matches to your current sim- the service number and the DL that's matched to it, and all the info on the new sim card, service and serial numbers.
      Takes about 5-10 mins?

  • Surprised nobody ention this.
Just register any size sim online on the plan u want.
If u need a different size sim then go to any telstra store and ask for a 'blank sim' in the size u want .
    Not a $2 sim
then go to online chat and they will swap u over.

No need to cut up / stick sims in etc and pretty quick process

  • Can the $30 credit be used for calls when overseas?

    • Yes you can. By default international roaming is on on telstra prepaid. I used it recently during my Euro trip. I will suggest you to refer telstra international roaming page for rates.

  • Its all back go $30 now

    • You mean the deal has expired?

      • Yes. If you click on the OW website link its all back to $30 each now.

  • Damn it my OW had a number of these, but by the time I went in they were already back to 30.. RAAAAARRRRGHHHHHH.

When is the next $10 sale, I need MOAR!

    • How long is a piece of string?
