Bunnings Ryobi 36v Cordless Line Trimmer RLT36SB, Discontinued $80, Original Price $189

70

Ryobi have discontinued this model, and Bunnings Bayswater (VIC) had it marked at $99 (clearance), asked for a discount and was happy to pay $80.

Listed on the bunnings website with the battery and charger for$329, http://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-one-36v-330m-cut-cordless-l…
I originally got this system last year with this Ryobi promo http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/67290

I'm pretty sure I got the last one at Bayswater, but you can try other stores.

For this to work you must already have the 36v battery and charger, as can be used in many other Ryobi products including chainsaw, blower, lawn mower etc.

Hope this helps someone else.

Better to mark it as $99 in the title Mal. Negotiated prices aren't a bargain, but you should definitely list that you got it for $80 in the description and load a picture of the receipt if you can.

$99 is cheap anyway. Good stuff.

  • just wondering, how do you negotiate price on clearance item especially on bunning? +wow from me

    Negotiating at Bunnings?

    • Often I have negotiated on clearance, end of line, returned, display (if end of line oniy) stock and received big discounts. Got a few GMC items when they stopped carrying them very cheap.

The Bunnings employee was keen to get the item cleared, so I simply asked if it was the best price he could do, decided on $80, he wrote the pricing sheet out, I went to the register and paid. All done quickly and easily.

How do I add pic of receipt please?

    • On the submit page (there's a link under where you enter the url).

  • Did they have the new 36V kit box there? It has the new 4Ah battery plus line trimmer, hedge trimmer, and blower. I'm not sure on the price but the ryobi kits are usually pretty good value. I'd certainly check it out first before throwing down $99/80 on just a bare line trimmer.

    • Yes I saw the 36v kit, plenty there marked at $499 from memory

    can u upload the receipt?

  • None left at Stafford (Brisbane)

  • "Bayswater"… Which state?

    • Ah. Darn. Adding a battery and charger probably isn't cheap anyway.

Only good if you already have the charger and battery, also put (VIC) in the blurb at start.

  • Are these battery powered units any good? As in not heavy or unbalanced or quick to go flat?

  • This is a good option for garden lovers, rechargeable and reliable (36V) Line Trimmer, BUT the battery is the main cost. Only battery will cost around $80-90 if you have the charger already. Expect to pay total 80+80+40= 200
If you buy all as single package it will be pretty much same, I think $230 but unsure…

Rechargeable tools are the future as the batteries are getting cheaper and better. But unlike they will give you the performance that you had with petrol ones.

The batteries goes balanced and flat suddenly when it is finished. If you are serious with your work it is good to have a spare one handy…
***Don't forget to make it FLAT for first 1-2 charge cycle, before recharge it again. This is very important for the life of battery.
