  • Telstra $30 Sim pack = $15

    same as woolworths - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/120056 :)

  • Telstra $30 pack is $14

  • free pickup in store, $10 postage to W.A :(

    • its free postage everywhere in aus

  • I can't find $10 prepaid kit on Telstra website. How do I check what I can do with the $10 included credit? Most of the prepaid options have $20 or $30 minimum recharge value requirement.

I'm just thinking, why pay $14 for a $30 starter kit when I can pay $3 for three $10 starter kit.

    • The $10 card comes included with prepaid phones, and is good for one or two calls.
Its too worthless to be sold separately.

The $30 card can buy a "cap" thingy which is good for a month.

      • Thanks. Where can I find more info on this (can't locate on Telstra site)? Would this be suitable for someone who is visiting Australia for a month and only need to receive Australian calls and don't need to make any calls? How much data is included?

        • Just get a $2 SIM with no credit for that. But why wouldn't they want to make calls?

  • $30 pack is sold out … i just tried

    • try now

"Once you have paid for it, we will send out an email with your sim serial number. Kindly activate the sim and send us a screenshot confirming that the sim has been activated. Upon recieving a confirmation email, we will dispatch the sim same day. These Sims must be activated before we can ship them out to you. The data lasts 30 days after activation

Please ensure you provide a valid email address."

    • Something not quite right with these offers. Where else do you need an activated sim when buying starter packs etc. I often buy starter packs from Coles etc and they all have around 2 years expiry. With this offer do you get the full starter pack or just a sim with credit on it?

      • they're selling them cheaply to get "connects" i.e. they've signed people up to the telstra network and telstra pays them a bonus. They want to ensure they get the "credit" for the connection this month/now. Its a semi common condition with prepaid sims at below face value at smaller retailers (unless you're buying from coles etc..)

    • NO ACTIVATION REQUIRED ON OUR END! WE ARE SHIPPING IT WITHOUT ACTIVATING IT

  • come off the grass! $10 postage ??? really?? to WA is a bl**dy great big insult

    \Pathetic

    • +1

yes really. We gotta pay more because of the "mining boom", or should I say bust.

  • does all sim card need to be activate before you ship?

Can you credit2me the $10 credit for the $1 sim card?

    thanks!

  • Lucky they are located in Melbourne. Might pick up a few for Android apps

THESE GUYS ARE DODGY, don't trust! I have been bitten by them and I will say this every time i see it on OZB. Buy the normal cards from Auspost, JB Hifi, Goodguys etc when they come up, which is often.

    • why whats wrong? can you email us or inbox us on what happened? well try to resolve it

this was your last post on one of our deal! i dont know what your pissed off at.

        • I'm guessing he's not happy about this, although I think the term "dodgy" is used incorrectly.

they won't ship unless activated so you can't have a stock of SIM cards!

    Telstra $10 Sim pack = $1

Anyone used Telstra credit from these to buy apps from Play? Just called the shop and they weren't sure.

It does concern me a little that a store specialising in Android phones isn't easily able to answer a question like this.

    • +1

You can't use it to buy apps - the $10 credit is applied as a bonus credit rather than the recharge credit which you can use to buy apps or bonus packs

      • What can you do with the $10 bonus credit? How many sms, calls, data can you make with this?

      • Thanks for clarifying

  • I think the $10 credit is/may be for talk and txt only …..if these $10 items are the starter kits from inside [removed from?] new telstra phone cartons.

    Yes/no?

The huawei specials from telstra via coles etc contain a $10 talk or txt credit starter kit, according to the support staff when i activated one a few months ago.

    I'm going to neg.

Just for the fact that you have to activate it before you receive your sim. Part of the value is having an expiry date and being able to activate it when you choose to, so it's better to get it from other retailers.

  • Thanks OP.

    Good timing.
    Telstra $10 1GB Data Sim Card = $5

    ……yes!

  • How does the data sim work?

What is the expiry date on the data?

If I buy 3, would they all expire at the same time, or the expiry date start from when they are activated?

Edit: Data sim showing $10 delivery.

    • try again!, its free delivery

they expire dec 2014. you can activate it whenever

      • Thanks! Bought a few.

      • data sim is still showing $10 delivery for me too.

I wanted to buy 4 and it showed $10 delivery. Can you please check?

        • Also it's showing $1 tax bringing it to a total of $31. Why is this? GST should be included in the price?

        • +1

I know it shows $10 if you estimated delivery.

But you can continue check out without estimating, and it will show complementary delivery in the next page or two.

Did not see the $1 tax anywhere…

        • thanks - it works if you order that way.

        • The tax didn't get processed for me. 10 of the $10 sim cards with free delivery for $10(after go through checkout, do not do the estimated shipping) and no tax charged on top. Maybe they meant tax inc instead of exc.

      • How do you activate these data sims? Mine showed up today, just the sims with no number or anything to activate? You said - they expire dec 2014. you can activate it whenever.

        • Sim without a package? No serial number too?

        • Yes, sims only. No package, no nothing. No numbers for activation. Waiting for the rep to respond …

        • yeah got mine today too… sims only in a dodgy deal bag.

no instructions, nothing :( Pretty poor service if you ask me…

        • I got this reply to an email sent - The sims have serial number on it. Look closely please. You can activate it on Telstra.com.au/activate

        • +1

Got mine activated last night. Be WARNED - credit is showing up as only lasting 15 days!!! Speaking with Telstra via online chat at the moment to double check what is happening.

        • Where can you find the details such as call and sms rates? I read that it comes as a bonus credit rather than actual credit to your account (which means you can't check the remaining credit balance)?

        • yes its written on the deal,

1gb data valid for 15 days after activation
$10 sims =$1 valid for 15 days after activation

        • the sims have a serial number on it. sorry for the instructions not being included!
you can activate it via serial number on it

  • Just Bought 2x$1 sims to use in GPS tracker, free shipping. looks like a good deal to me!

  • Trying to order 4 x 1GB data sims, get:"Products marked with *** are not available in the desired quantity or not in stock!" even 1 giving me this response. Still showing Availability: In Stock.

Also showing $10 postage and the $1 GST, $31 total…

    Any tricks?

    • You get that message when there's none in stock in your specified quantity.

There's an availability field that says how many products are in stock. It seems that if there's none there it will still show "in stock", but none in the "availability" field. Either recheck how many available and put that amount in or wait (hopefully) for more stock

Anyways, bought out the available $10 sims yesterday and they showed the same message, no "availability", but still "in stock". Today another 31 $10 sims shows as in available. I guess in stock means they have it and just need to put it on their computer system.

P.S. GST will not be charged on top tried it and it's all good

P.P.S. For free shipping!!! Go to the check out and DO NOT USE estimated shipping, just continue. It will appear as if you have a FREE SHIPPING OFFER towards the end, just before you pay.

  • So what can u actually do with the $10 kit? What are the rates?

  • Any deal on the 365 day data sim?
