  • Hi guys, anyone's thoughts on getting one of these in preparation for the PS4? I believe it comes with a 500GB 5400 HDD which seems both too slow and too small…?

  • I know, it's going to double my, uh, investment. But if PS4 uses SATA3, which I assume it does, it could make a world of difference. Or it just might not work at all. Or the PS4 might break it somehow. It's a risky purchase…thought maybe someone might know more than me…?

    • I would suggest you wait for now. The PS4 does not support TRIM (yet) which means an SSD won't last as long as you hope it will in the PS4. When Sony updates the system to support TRIM, then adding an SSD will be greatly beneficial overall. The longer you wait, the lower the SSD prices will get, so wait at least until Sony update the system to support TRIM.
