    • Thanks! Was looking for this.

Unfortunately this campaign is by invitation only.

    • +1

It's not. I didn't receive any invitation and just registered.

      • As did I

    • I believe you need to have already rego'd your card for Amex offers….
I didn't get emailed the offer, but it accepted my card when I rego'd (or so the subsequent email says).

    I got the exception:

We are unable to register your card.
Please call the number on the back of your card for further assistance.

    EDIT:
Using the link given by havok44, it gave me:

    Sorry
Unfortunately this campaign is by invitation only.

But there is No reason to neg the OP for posting an otherwise good deal (he/she wouldn't know if it works for others).

  • I registered and wasn't invited. But I would say that if you have a gift card (which most people can buy for 5% discount), it is probably better to use this than to get extra points.

  • I believe this is dupe but I can't find the previous one.

I tried to register now and it said I'm already registered.

    • How can it be a dupe when it hasn't been previously posted on ozbargain.

      • +1

That's what I'm saying. I believe i saw this on ozbargain in September but when I search it now it won't find.

btw it sucks we can't search by title only in ozbargain. And while whinging about the search function the default should be by deal title and sorted by date from latest. Current search results are all over the shop.

        • -1

Good that the voting is straightforward.

        • agreed

add 'sort:created' as a search term.

It was mentioned in Spend $250 Online with Your Registered American Express Card and Enjoy $50 Credit Back a while ago:

      • Oh that's where I saw this then. Thanks.

Unfortunately this campaign is by invitation only.

  • I was not invited but 1 of my AMEX cards worked and 1 didn't.

    • Well obviously that card was invited to take part in the deal you just didn't know it.

      • Generally if you are invited you receive an email promoting the offer. I never received such an invite.

        • Me too. And in most time I can register my cards.

  • +2

wasn't invited but was able to register.

    • Or maybe your invitation email got lost in the web space black hole.

  • This deal is a bit of a lemon then for those who weren't invited.

  • +7

I was able to register my card.

Looks like its for Amex issued cards only (which mine is) and not BANK issued cards (T&C say cards not issued by Amex are ineligible).

    • Thanks for clearing that up

    • Exactly

  • No Invite but worked on my card

    • No invite, worked for me too

  • "Sorry
Unfortunately this campaign is by invitation only. Please visit http://www.americanexpress.com.au/more for other fabulous offers."

  • Wasn't invited and no email from them and had no problem signing up.

  • I don't understand why it says invitation only. this is just one of the standard amex deals listed on their public website.

    https://www.americanexpress.com/australia/bonus-partners/cat…

(click "Load more offers" on the bottom of the page)

    • They probably don't want the whole of Australia accessing the deal all at once. As it's limited to 5000 customers only says so right on that page.

  • Waste of time, Invite only.

  • Pretty sux… oh well shit happens.

  • No invite, Amex issued card (not bank issued card), successfully registered, combined with $10 off $50 and free shipping promo. WIN!

  • B. Eligible Cards

Only American Express Cards issued by American Express Australia Limited are Eligible Cards:
The following are not Eligible Cards: Business Cards that are affiliated with a wholesaler partner, Corporate Cards and cards not issued by American Express.

Supplementary Cards qualify as an Eligible Card only if registered for the Offer separately.

    • The OP should point this out clearly in the description - many Amex holders get their Amex from their bank. All of these holders can't use this deal…

  • Yeah they've probably invited some thing like 10,000 but only the first 5,000 registrations will actually get the deal. Like first come first served basis. Invitation wouldn't be a guarantee to get it. Once the 5000 registrations are taken that's it.

  • No invitation but registered successfully. Thanks!

My gosh, Woolworths have launched what can only be described as a massive discount and bonus offensive against Coles.

This week i'm getting $170 worth of groceries for $150 ($20 discount for click and collect) plus this is one of 3 shops I need to complete to get a free $30 gift card. Next week I'll get free shipping, $10 off the order, one of the 3 orders contributing to $30 gift card, and now the extra Amex points. Before that, there were many more bonuses.

EDIT* Oh yeh, and 15c a litre off this week as well.

  • Sorry

  • Thanks OP worked with my AMEX.

  • I didn't get an invitation, but somehow got to their registration page and could sign up sucessfully.

Could only do it via the mobile site, so maybe it's not supposed to work?

This is the link you want (maybe post up top):

    https://enroll.amexnetwork.com/AU/en/woolworths2013/

  • I think the gist of it is that you have to have an Amex-issued card, and have previously registered for Amex Network offers. Whether you get the e-mail or not is moot, since if you were subscribed you would've gotten the e-mail, but you're still on the eligibility list even just being registered.

So that means if you have a bank-issued Amex, or have not registered for Amex Network in the past, you probably won't qualify. Happy to hear from anyone who has been able to register that doesn't match those requirements.

  • BMW Amex works.

  • Thanks…registered. Dumb question, but I assume the points will be for the first online purchase "after" you have registered as I bought something online from Woolworths a few days ago before this offer? It's not the first online purchase made after 1 September 2013 right?

  • I just received a qantas amex yesterday and used it and it worked

    • and i've never registered for amex offers

    Invite only. Next!

Didn't work for CBA AMEX :(
