Is this better than samsung tho?

I think it is better in durability. Performance wise not much different, in real world computing anyway

Intel SSD's are great for durability. My Intel 330 120GB SSD i bought 15 months ago is working as good as day 1 never failed me once. Plus Intel SSD is also pretty fast.

Can't say the same for the OCZ SSD's i used to have.

I see this stated often on here and other forums — that Intel SSDs are somehow more durable/reliable than Samsung SSDs — does anyone actually have any hard evidence to back this claim up? IMHO both are great choices, and any differences in reliability between the two brands are negligible when it comes to SSDs.

Component return rates (for SSDs) for the six months to May 2013 (according to hardware.fr):
        - Samsung 0.05%
        - Plextor 0.16%
        - Intel 0.37%
        - Crucial 1.12%
        - Corsair 1.61%
        - OCZ 6.64%

I use about 30-40 Intel 330, 520 and 335 drive from day one, all good except one 330 may faulty but didn't confirm it, because at the end I found out the mainboard has problem. Some have been heavily used, 10G a day is only general usage.

Used Samsung about 15 units, 840pro from day one and recent release 840evo, all good as well but need more time to tell. Hopes this can help.

          OCZ 6.64% faulty rate? what I know it's 50% within a year!

  • The 180GB Drive only is very good price of $US 140, but need to use a freight forwarder. The 180GB is probably MLC though.
