    It's raining video cards! Hallelujah!

  • +2

This is a much better deal.

The 1GB card from Scorptec is part of the "Never Settle Forever" bundle and only includes one game.

This 2GB from PCCG is part of the "Never Settle Reloaded" bundle and includes 3 games. BioShock Infinite, Far Cry: Blood Dragon and Tomb Raider. The extra RAM and much better games are easily worth that extra ~$15-20.

    • Yeah, I thought 1GB would be plenty for anything a 7790 could manage, but Crysis 1 benchmark tool actually said I was going over 1GB on max settings and 8x AA, and the FPS actually dropped during lots of action.

Definitely worth a few extra dollars, just to be sure (but then… how much are 7850s going for these days?)

  • If you don't want the games, is it possible to sell them or are they just codes?

    • +1

They are just redemption codes for downloads. There is no physical game product.

    • +2

You can sell the codes, but not for much.

I bought a Bioshock Infinite code from a fellow ozbargainer for $20 (months ago - I don't think you'd get that much now, it's been closer to $15 in some online sales). Slightly risky, but it was legit.

Anyone got any offers for d3sire's games, if he gets it?

(I guess I'd pay $5 for tomb raider, but at that price you may as well keep it).

  • Is this right? Is my 560 (non-Ti) faster than this?

    http://www.hwcompare.com/14306/geforce-gtx-560-vs-radeon-hd-…

    • I don't know how accurate HW Compare is, but yeah - Anandtech puts the 7770 below the 560 by a reasonable margin, so I'd assume the 7790 is too (by a lesser margin, though). The x60's are more gaming oriented than the sub-x850's, so it's not entirely surprising.

      • Nice, guess I got a bargain at $50 for a refurb from MSY a few month back then.

        • +1

Ah, apologies, didn't see Anandtech had benched the 7790. Yeah, kamoi is right, the 560 Ti is pretty much on par with the 7790, so the 560 would be a tad lower.

    • +1

Nah the 7790 is a bit faster. The 7790 and the 560 Ti are neck and neck with the non-Ti about 10% behind.

At $50 you got a great deal though and I would grab that in an instant.
