That's crazy-cheap. I have one of these, and they're wonderful. Will get another as a spare.

    • -2

Do ppl really need spares? Won't the battery crap itself just sitting on the shelf by the time the first one carks it?

      • +27

        Do ppl really need spares?

wow…. you must be new around here……

      • I bought an expensive AEG cordless drill for a lot of projects I did over one summer. Didn't touch it during winter, next time I went to use it both battery packs were dead, couldn't be charged.

      • +2

Useful to have a second one for when you are doing repetitive task where you need 2 different bit sizes, or a drill bit and a screwdriver, so you don't have to keep changing bits

  • Add Bunnings to the title and store if not nationwide EDIT: http://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-3-6v-lithium-ion-cordless-s… still $29.

Good little Screwdriver, lasted me around 6 hours or 300 computer screens (x4 screws, un/tighten) for a recent project I was at.

    • +2

      lasted

implying it only lasted 6 hrs? or it worked solidly for 6 hrs straight, and is still working?

      • Possibly 6 hours on a single battery charge?

  • +5

Nice post - buy one, stick it in the drawer and forget about it.
Buy another in 6 months time:)

    • -2

Or if it breaks go there on a day that they have a trainee on and swap it :)

      • buy one, stick it in the drawer and forget about it.
Buy another in 6 months time:)

        its the OzBargain way :D

      • Or if it breaks go there on a day that they have a trainee on and swap it :)

Why would you need to wait until you thought there was just a trainee on? The replacement warranty means just that - you walk in with your receipt and they just swap it over, no hassles whatsoever.

  • I agree, great little tool. I dont need another one but for ten bucks why not?

  • so where was this? still shows $29.97 on the website as mentioned above.

  • +1

still shows $29,97 on Bunning's website.

Is it a national wide deal?

OP, can you let us know which store?

    Cheers

    • +5

Can confirm Morley, WA has them for $9.98

  • Great deal. Am planning to buy some office furniture soon and balked at the thought of using a manual screwdriver. Price on the website is still $29.97 as mentioned above but will go to my local store tomorrow and see what's going on. Thanks OP!

  • repco 70 piece screwdriver set or this ??

    • +3

If you can find it at this price get it and get this from SCA http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online-store/products/Super… should fit most needs

      • Anyone know if that supercheap kit contains hexagonals that fit IKEA furniture?

        • If you have a fair bit to do, do yourself a favour and go and buy a good quality set of bits. The cheap ones tend to be soft, and start slipping after very little use.

        • It is Slotted, Pozi, Torx, Phillips, Square and 2" Bit Adapter

      • not sure if the double ended bits will fit as the chuck part is not that deep

        • It is 1/4" Inch

      • thanks. That looks good for the price.

      • Seems like a good set to use with this product

  • christmas present sorted!

  • How do u charge this thing?

    • +33

      With electricity.

    • +5

      For 10 bucks….you can't possibly screw up….just screw it

  • -7

Don't hold ya breath that you will ever find one for this price

    • +4

I didn't find one, there would have been at least 20 there…

        • i dont get it :|

  • This will end up on ebay quite soon.

  • -1

    Ozito….. screw this!

  • Hey all, can confirm that this deal is on … just saw a Bunnings ad in the Telegraph this morning with this price and it says "Limited Stock" … so I'm guessing this is going to sell out quick

    • Not necessarily, "Limited Stock" is like "one per customer": the marketing team slaps this stuff onto everything, because studies show it makes the item sell faster.

  • +1

Confirmed price of $9.98 at Bayswater VIC 3153 at approx. 0710hrs this morning. About 10 left after I grabbed a couple. Thanks OP.

  • +2

no point buying if I have purchased the previous deal on the makita drill?

    • +2

Completely different. I can't live without my electric screw driver… you can get into tight spaces, and control the torque a lot better than a drill.

      • +1

        Good question,though.

  • +1

I believe this is national wide $9.98, and there are a lot at carlingfordf nsw.

  • Just purchased from Nowra Bunnings, marked as $9.98.

  • Any good deal on a cordless drill ?

  • How does this compare to the Bosch?

    • +1

I personally prefer the Ryobi screw driver. The Ryobi has an adjustable torque setting, the Bosch doesn't.

Don't get me wrong, they're both good, but I was really sad when I destroyed by Ryobi (used it as a drill as I broke my drill and needed to finish something - shredded the gears and will only work in reverse). The bosch comes with a 90 degree elbow, which is handy sometimes, but I find it doesn't sit in the charger as well as the Ryobi.

    • you are comparing a toyota with a ferrari

      • +4

Yet somehow somebody still replied with a useful comment.

        Protip: It wasn't you.

      • +1

So you're saying the Bosche will possibly catch fire due to poor QA/bad adhesive, require specially filtered electricity to charge and that the Ozito will likely last 30 years and still be worth more than half of what you paid for it?

    • Both are Toyota none is a Ferarri. But Bosch is close to price of a Ferrari. If you want a Ferrari performance buy 10.8V/12V tools.

I googled Ozito cousins the same product under different names like Xceed, Kawasaki, Einhell. Finally found the max torque rating, it is 3Nm.

The latest Bosch IXO max torque is 4.5Nm. Which means it can drive screws into harder material and also cause issues because it doesn't have a clutch. Unless you buy the whole kit which is price of a Ferrari. It's really stupid because you can get a heaps better Worx 12V 2-Speed drill driver at that price.

For the Ozito, at such low price and warranty from Bunnings, there's really nothing to compare with. FYI the Ozito model under the same names is a discontinued product in overseas.

  • Deal on in the Noosa store!
    Got 2 cheers OP!

  • There are lots of stocks (At least 12 left) at Nunawading Store. Purchased one on $9.48 with Powerpass at 10:10am.

  • +1

i had one of these and it lasted about 6 months before it would not accept a charge, replaced it with the Black & Decker Gyro unit which is awesome

    • i second this! believe it or not, i've used the B&D Gyro several times including replacing a car boot lid and it's still going on the original charge! torque control is handy especially when screwing into different materials but i find the gyro control is more useful to me, besides at slow speeds the unit seems to have plenty of torque, but then again the Gryo was 50% more!

  • mascot bunnings sell it for $9.98, only one display unit left.

  • Can confirm these are on sale in SA. Marion has display + 1 other (unsealed) left.

  • +1

    • +2

Oh yeah - I jumped on that too. Motion activate screwdriver.
Still have it sitting in the drawer along with cree torches, countless memory cards, thumb drives etc.

    • +1

No, this one is better. It has torque adjustment, rotates to a straight position and comes with 4 long bits.

I have both and will get more use from this one.

  • 5 or 6 left at Modbury, SA. In the standard spot on the shelf, and only a normal ticket saying the price.

  • A few left at Bunnings Taylors Lakes, VIC for anyone interested

  • About 10 boxes at Thornleigh. The ticket says $9.99

  • The lady at the store exit, checked my receipts for a good few seconds (probably thinking I was taking the wrong product) …. then she goes "wow, this is so cheap!" :)

  • Box Hill Bunnings still left more than 20 boxes

  • Got one from Hillcrest S.A :)

    • were there many left?

    • I was at Bunnings Parafield SA about 01:20PM, after I bought some there were about 7 or 8 left

  • Grabbed the last one from Mount Gravatt, QLD. :)

  • Grabbed two from Bankstown Airport. Pricing tag said $14.98 but scanned up as $9.98. Had the newspaper article opened and ready too. Someone came in after me and grabbed one. About 3 left (on the shelf).

  • Greenacre Bunnings had them tagged for 14.98. It scanned in for 9.98 at the register

    • How many were left? Was planning on going tommorow

      • At least six when i left

        • Non left when i went yesterday. Non at Ashfield either

  • Here is someome trying to make 12 bucks of this deal :)
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Ozito-3-6V-Lithium-Ion-Cordless-S…

  • O'Connor store in Perth had a good few left for $9.98. Actually ticketed at that price. I bought one and the ozbargainer in me had to do some hard rationalising not to buy a second. Would definitely make great Christmas gifts. Damn it, I'm thinking about going back now and buying more… :)

    • I am thinking of getting a couple after work at 5 from O'Connor. Hopefully the stocks last until then.

      • You should be right, mate. There were quite a few when I was there at 11am. That's assuming that the O'Connor chapter of ozbargain didn't spontaneously decide to do a bus trip to Bunnings this arvo.

    • Exactly how I felt. But I couldn't resist a second. Would have grabbed a third, but my sanity returned.

  • +1

Relax ozbargainers, I went to my local bunnings, they got stacks on the shelf and the price label is already standard as $9.98, the guy at the tool section said this is the new price, so no need to get too exciting …

    • +2

guy at the tool section said this is the new price

guy will probably stay there for life by the sounds of it

      • Classic guy.

      • Yep looks like he will be, when i was there, he got no one talking to, looking so boring, once i started asking, he couldn't stop !!!
