Now this is more like how much a HTPC build should cost.

If you want to game with it, you could add a low-profile video card (normal-size graphics cards won't fit).

The motherboard supports newest CPUs, so you could upgrade later when you have the cash.

  • How much is it without the HD? And is it expendable via PCI-E for graphics and others?

"Note: Case is designed for low-profile graphic cards"

Guess that gives you some wiggle room.

Save $55 if you don't require the 500GB hard drive.

Yes the PC is expendable but you will need to use low-profile expansion cards. The motherboard has a PCI-Ex16 and PCI-Ex1

  • No dispatch until next Monday?

    • Yes our next dispatch date is Monday 11th November.

If you have a hard drive lying around at home then $274 is a real bargain…

    • Great system for a tight budget.

  • Rep, just emailed you for a custom quote.

Nice balanced machine - only criticism is a good PSU will oly add $15 or so, I so with you would use one, something made by Seasonic or Delta or CWT or Enermax.
Would also suggest offering basic i5 quad option advertising a machine like this, as well as a GPU option (once again I would go for the low profile (I think its Palit or Zotac) GT640 with 1GB 256bit (not the 128bit) RAM at around $85 retail) and an option for a larger HDD and additional SSD. This provides a great range of basic options on the base platform without overwhelming people with options or feilding 1000 questions, and allows you to standardise of frequently used options across ranges to save $ (The GTX640 is a great basic gaming card for a larger desktop too, so I would offer it and the GTX660 or highest performing ATI around the $220 mark on Desktop builds).
(To MrPC Geek: I used to be one of the primary people designing the Whirlpool recommended desktops (this is easily confirmed) as well as being a former sales manager then head tech for a large PC chain store, before i moved to the music industry and became crippled, and am a trained electronic technician, feel free to contact me if yo want advice on compiling appealing options for machines:) Or not lol. )(sorry to the people who hate me who may feel that is big noting, it isn't, just saying why bother talking to me over some other random)
