  TECS in Melbourne are doing the MSI Wind U100+ for $587 as per http://www.tecscomputers.com.au/notebook.html . Either way, quite a good deal.

    Unfortunately we do not offer this service on this model, as there are warranty stickers over the screws covering the RAM bay. Please note that should these stickers be removed to increase the RAM to 2GB, this will void the warranty of the unit. As there are no MSI Winds that come with 2GB as standard, the warranty would be void if this was upgraded to 2GB.

      Albeit you don't offer service on the model, the information regarding the warranty is incorrect. Calling MSI on 02 9748 0070 will confirm that upgrading the ram will not void your warranty, irrespective of the sticker, but any consequential damage from upgrading the ram would not be covered (they'd have to prove that your upgrading of the ram caused the damage).

      I also requested they confirm this in an email to me in case of any future disputes, which they did.

  also interested in extra RAM upgrade.

  is the wind REALLY 1.5kgs?? seems a little heavy, i always thought it was around 1.2kg even with the 6-cell?
  finally, does this come with synaptic or sentillic touchpad?

    It is on the heavy side for a 10". Im using my 12.1" portege r500 and even it is lighter than the MSI.

    I had a play around with a mates one with windows and hackintosh about to be installed on it (pretty easy for this little netbook). Certainly is a cute little netbook, but if its sitting on your lap all day you will notice it :-)

    Sorry I cant help with the touchpad.

    I am envious of those who own one though
