Most likely a targeted offer and AMEX issued cards only but the title isn't long enough for me to include that.

I didn't get an email about it but noticed it as on offer on the new amex online banking. Log into AMEX online and go to your account summary (MY ACCOUNT then Your Account option). There is now a few tabs:

Latest Transactions, Offers & Places, Card Benefits. The below two offers appear for me (BMW AMEX):

          thanks for the heads up, offers are saved. everyone ignore the error messages and as daveaus suggested, login after 5 min to find all the offers saved. Now to combine David Jones 20 off 200, $10 off, $5 off and amex offer all in one transaction

      Why not? The Amex deal is handled by the bank, and the DJ deal is handled by DJs.

      Order online, apply the 3 codes, and pay with your Amex. Bam. $65 off $200+.

      I imagine Amex have no idea of knowing what you bought. They'll just see a $150 charge from DJs, and will credit $30. Buying a gift card should be no different to buying any other item.

        •Offer excludes: Sleep Number®, Miele, Falcon, NEFF, AEG, ASKO, St George, Fargor, De Detrich, Elica and Apple products.

        Amex must have some way of knowing what was purchased.

      There have been similar deals posted by Target/Rebel/Country road. They all allow purchasing of gift cards for the rebate although you shouldn't treat it as a confirmation.

    I got the $30 off $150 spend at DJs too … on my new DJs storecard (the one you earn points on) which you can't even use outside of DJs. :S If this works on my storecard then SCORE considering i) I get staff discount at DJs and ii) I just spent $200+ during their Christmas event last night which is within their qualifying period.

      Looks like giftcards will apply. The only exclusions in the T&C's are:

    You have to have a AMEX AMEX Credit card, ie. a AMEX card DIRECT from AMEX. Signup for online AMEX services to get it working. Although if you were a AMEX credit card user and use their online statement or system you'd probably already know about the offers section.

      I think this only works for AMEX cards which are the primary user (supplentary users don't get offered it), and not a Corp AMEX Card as I guess these are setup as "Supplementary Cards"

      i am not criticising, just wanted to check my maths if correct. I think in your link it says $7.50 because the $10 credit is not taken into account
