    • No nothing.

      • Haven't heard anything from Robina either. They promised to call me on Wednesday and never did.

  • Dammit - just got my call from TGG - No ZombiU for me :( They're sending me a $20 TGG gift voucher though.

EDIT: Mine was allocated to Robina.

  • Ok I'll wait now, thanks.

    • +1

    • Oops this screwed up.. meant to say that I need to just wait for the call.

  • For those who have received gift cards - it looks like everyone is getting different amounts, is it depending on how much you have spent all up? Thanks

    • Presume so.

      • In that case I wonder how much Broden would be getting

        • I ordered $150 worth of games for xmas presents. I wonder if I'll get any gift vouchers :0

  • just got an email they refunded me 10bucks back even when they called the other day it was getting posted and apologized for advising they had stock. Bloody hell at least they could of given store credit for our troubles.

    • How much would you expect them to give you for a $10 order though? $5?

      • +2

I'm hoping for $40 if my game (singular) doesn't turn up. ;)

  • +2

Just got a call to say my 2 orders (1 game each order) were being cancelled, and they would refund the 2 x $10 plus shipping costs and send me a $20 gift card.

Only thing, I have already received one of the games. Bonus.

    • Interestingly, my call came from the number 03 8612 3900, which according to Google is a Telstra customer complaints line.

I wonder if Good Guys has outsourced the phone calls?

      • +1

I assume so, I got a call that went like:
"Hi this is xxx from Telstra .. um I mean the good guys .. "

        refund 3 of 3 ordered games :/
        $20 gift voucher

    • First world problems

The stories about this deal are getting better and better. What a mess. I've still received no news regarding either of my orders.

  • Received part of my first order but not my second order.
Resistance 3 (non essential or platinum edition)
    and PS vita Uncharted.
Still missing Luigi U and Uncharted 3.
all have been allocated via email allegedly.

  • I ordered 7 Wii (not U) games for the kids, its processed at nunawading. I don't think my phone number on PayPal guest checkout is up to date.

Should I call them or just wait it out?

    • Call them. I ordered the $2 iphone cases over the weekend and wondered why they were not ready to be collected. When I called them today they were ready to be collected. The said they had been having some technical problems.

  • any news from WA?

    • +1

We will be the last people they remember……

      • Wait Awhile :)

Which is what I'm doing. Have 12 games across 2 orders allocated to Belmont WA. Hoping I get something but if it turns out to be no go, refund and $40 gift card I'll be ok with it.

  • I got a call to say that I won't be receiving one of my games (Luigi) and will be getting refund + $20 gift card but 2 days ago I got an email saying all my games have been dispatched. Haven't received the order yet but it seems there's some sort of miscommunication between the stores and business services centre.

    • +2

      or they were lying…………

      • +1

        They're gonna getcha!

      • +5

My complete order was at home when I got back today. Emailed TGG to tell them not to send the gift card and other games. Hopefully they allocate them to somebody else.

  • Just got a call in Darwin. Only one game of the 3 in stock. Still getting a $20 gift card and a refund so I'm not too fussed.

  • +5

    My TGG loot :) http://oi40.tinypic.com/6zsva8.jpg

All the games except for AC:NL were received upon preorder. I received AC:NL upon stopping off at my local TGG at GC to buy a hairdryer. I thought AC:NL was part of the clearance sales and asked and they price matched…but I haven't seen anyone say they bought it so…it might have been an honest mistake.

    • +1

Looks like you are getting negged by some jealous OzBargainers.

      Here, take a +

    • +1

Ha yeah it definitely wasn't in the list of $10 games, so nice work!

    • There was AC:NL in the sale? Had I known…

  • Something tells me a few brodens filled a trolley full of games on payday <_< making heaps miss out

  • +9

I don't really mind if I get the games or not anymore, I just want to know what is happening with my money!

    • +2

Likewise, Haven't heard anything from TGG since I received my confirmation email. No email's, no calls, no refund notices. I thought someone said that they would be contacting everyone by the end of the week.

      • Yeah, I mean I'd like them, but theres no way I'm expecting them.

        • +2

I just called them. There excuse was they had hoped to call everyone by the end of today, but now i was assured we would all be called "in the next 24 hours". Sounds like a fob off to me

  • +3

They should be called the unorganized guys cause this is a mess

  • I got a vita game sent to me by the moorabbin store in a box roughly 13cm x 8 cm stuffed with shredded paper sent by star track express, and I live in burwood Vic …

    • That's promising.

      A few questions for you:

      1. Did you order really early on the day of the sale?
      2. Did the online status of your order change from being a back order before you received it?
      3. Did you receive an email telling you the order was being sent?

My order still says "BackOrdered" on the items and I'm yet to have any communication directly from the store but I'm hopeful its all on its way!

PS. What Vita game did you pick up?

      • 1: i ordered pretty late, maybe 1:30pm as my cart kept on being reset
2: my 2nd game (mario and sonic at the olympics) went from being ready to dispatch to nothing, Virtua Tennis 4 was dispatched the next day
3: email was sent for everything from moorabbin, nothing from belmont

  • +1

I was told 2 days ago I would get a call within 24 hours. Emailed this morning with no reply…

  • No call today. I received an email on 19th to say the order has been allocated to Nunawading store. Had a look at my account online this afternoon and it says:
    Store Niddrie - completed
    and above that
    Store Nunawading - active

When I click on the order number next to Nunawading it lists all of the games and says back-ordered.

My order came to $99 - all games were $10 except one which was Pokémon X ($47). This game is still being advertised on their site so I'm confused as to why it is back-ordered.

The games are all for my son for Christmas - and I also ordered a gaming mouse from MobileCiti which has been back-ordered. I have no idea if anything is going to arrive before Christmas - and I can't really go shopping for replacements for the gaming mouse and Pokémon game until I know what is going on.

  • +3

Didn't the goodguys say they will sort this out by the end of the week? Big lol

  • Ordered some DS and Xbox games at 7am ish.
Got a call yesterday after office hour 6-7pm from TGG, they are gonna send 5 of 10 games I ordered, refund the rest + $40 gift card. Unfortunately the games I really want are not the ones I'm getting.

Edit: fyi they are all different games. Just started getting into DS games again after quitting WoW. Was hoping I could stock up on the good games.

    • Which Sydney store mate?

      • They didn't say on the phone. They called a few times. The first one said we would get refunded for all games. The second one said we are getting some games, refund the rest and send us a gift card.

  • Just spoke to TGG confirmed we would "all" be getting some form of email to clarify the situation soon.

    • +2

no I won't because what they say and what they do are completely different

      • +3

Are you sure you actually ordered any games boss?

    • +4

Would be nice just to get some sort of clarification.

      Nothing since Tuesday's
"Your order has been allocated to a store for processing"

Not going to hold my breath as what the GoofGuys call soon and what I would call soon probably don't align.

Give me the games or give me a refund, shouldn't be that hard.
At least if they sent me an email I could leave this thread behind.
Since I don't have the games and no word from TGG I keep coming back to check if there is any more info.

Thanks to the ozbargainers who have heard from TGG and passed on the info or bothered to call or email TGG themselves at least we can get some information (as well as a bit of speculation and few pointless posts here and there to pass the time).

      • Very well said, I feel exactly the same. If TGG simply emailed everyone, it would save a lot of unnecessary emails and phone calls to their shops/call centre, as well as a lot of time in checking this thread.

  • checked my local store, they have uncharted, halo4, they could of allocated that order to my local store, but the price is now $39 for uncharted…

    • That's interesting. Hopefully those games get allocated to someone who needs them (I'm waiting on Halo 4 cough cough).

  • Anyone received any info on Auburn store order or refund.

    • well they said they had a stack of printout orders 2 inches thick

      • that was yesterday and it was still going

  • -3

If you were logged into your account on The Good Guys website and placed an order or have purchased anything in-store in the last 9 years could you please send me a PM as I need your help to confirm something. I'm happy to provide my phone number and discuss the issue over the phone, Skype or even in person if you are local.

Mods, please contact me if you think this is dubious and I will be happy to explain.

    • +5

You're right. Very dubious. You might wanna head over to Craigslist if you're looking for a hookup :P

      • -1

Thanks for the reply ajax7, but that's really not what I'm looking for.

The issue I'm looking for confirmation on is actually quite serious and I imagine there would be some form of compensation involved from TGG for anyone who can help me back up my theory.

If you need further information please contact me via PM. No need to neg me when all I'm trying to do is look after the consumer.

        • +1

If it's really that serious you should report it to the ACCC first and let them do the investigation.

    • +1

"If you were logged in… or have purchased anything in-store in the last 9 years." That's a very wide catchment of people. You could arguably prove anything with that sample size.

Secondly, you could simply explain your theory publicly on here. If TGG have done something wrong, then there's no need for a lack of transparency on your end… shout it out aloud.

      • +4

Probably found a way to access your account details on line and doesn't want to make it public.

…or proof that TGG have been spying on us through our web cams?
…Maybe TGG are all aliens AND they killed JFK!

        • -1

This is a public warning to anyone that purchased a web camera from The Good Guys in the past 9 years. Evidence has been found that these web cameras were deliberately tampered with to allow The Good Guys access to in-house footage. The ACCC believe the motivating factor behind this outrageous breach of the law was to gather vital information about their customers: including household size, demographic of each family member, online spending habits, income status and recreational pursuits. This information allows The Good Guys to personalise their sales techniques to your needs.

        • -1

Wait you said anything originally, now it's just web cameras ? Oh did they install web cameras in fridges and appliances to spy on us ?

  • +1

I emailed them yesterday and this was their reply. Hope it helps.
"We will have more of an answer on Monday regarding the web orders for gaming as our support team aren’t in the office today and there is no one we can speak with today regarding the game web"

    • +4

LOL they told me by the end of the week (which means yesterday) now it's monday. I can guess where this is going.

      • +1

and they told me on the phone (at about 5pm yesterday) within the next 24 hours. So it seems we are all getting different information

  • If they dont get back to me by mid next week I'm gonna turn up at the allocated stores demanding answers

  • +1

Just a heads up if anyone is still tracking this bargain. I had a call from the Good Guys this morning. They mentioned they had more sales on games on that one day then in a whole year. He then went on to say they were refunding orders due to the fact they didn't have the stock. I told him I had a australia post consignment note for my delivery and he believes I was lucky that my order was sent. If your order is still processing I suggest calling your local Good Guys in regards to the status of your order.

  • +10

Just got a call from TGG saying i won't receive my order. But they can't tell me when i will get my cash back. I've had enough of these companies selling items that they don't even have stock of and with no intention of honoring the order. But they sure are fast taking my money.

    • Yeap, just waiting for the negs to pop up now.

TGG are not handling this issue well at all and it seems like none of the staff know what is going on.

      • Yeah the guy i spoke to seemed not to have a clue. Surely TGG must of known how huge this sale was going to be, but apparently not.

        • I was woken up by one of these calls this morning and when I tried to get some more information out of them I was told to ring TGG :D

Turns out the people calling us are just some random call center that TGG hired. They have a script in front of them and their job is basically just to confirm our details and update us on the situation.

We should expect a "possible" refund and $20 gift voucher late next week as they are "a bit" short on stock and won't be able to supply everyone.

    • Did you (or brendanAUS) get offered a gift card?

      • +2

They offered a $20 gift card, but that's useless to me. The last time i bought from TGG was 5 years ago for a kettle. I see the gift card as a good way of getting me in there store to buy christmas presents. It's all win win for TGG.

        • -7

So you NEVER support the store, only buy a few below cost price games then bitch and complain like a child when the store does the best they can by offering you a full refund AND compensation.

I don't agree with how online retailers should operate under these circumstances; i.e. the system should not withdraw cc payment until the stock has been checked by the warehouse / local store.

          Get a life dude.

        • +4

A bit much to say he bitched and complained like a child. All he wants is his money back which is perfectly reasonable.

        • +8

It's actually an offense under the Competition and Consumer Act for them to take payment if they believe they won't be able to supply. Search "Wrongly accepting payment".

They knew early in the morning that they didn't have the stock and still continued to sell online and take peoples money.

They have held our monies for 4 days now knowing full well that they won't be able to supply. Things are not looking so good for them and the longer they take to refund the worse it will be.

        • +2

Could get costly for them if a few people did make a complaint to the ACCC

        • -1

And you are bitching and complaining about me, bitching and complaining about TGG, lol.

        • Just wondering if TGG are not going to sell games anymore after they have sold all stock?

      • +1

I was not going to receive a gift card just a refund but I told him I had a Australia post email about my order being transit so he said to wait and see if it comes. There is no harm in asking for a bit of compensation for being dicked around.

        • +9

That's disappointing that the gift card compensation isn't uniform across the board. If they are going to compensate, they need to make sure it's even for everyone.

        • +1

How many gift cards for Broden?

  • +2

Called up the allocated store, which in my case was Belmont WA. Satff told me they don't know what's happening and the head office is taking over. Told me to call this number 1300-466-348 on Monday. Staff admitted they had no stocks of the 14 different games I ordered. Not one. It's a mess. And TGG is really really slow in sorting it out but really quick in taking my money.

    • +2

Belmont was my store as well, for 12 separate games. sigh
