        • So when beakeroo wrote that I hadn't placed an order with the shitguys that wasn't an issue for you Moocher?

If it was a lie why wasn't it deleted - see Neil above

And why did you post this here and not when you were writing to me?

And where did beakeroo get the email details from associated with ozbargain to make his statement that no order came from that address?

And why is beakeroo allowed to continue stalking me after the statement above from Neil?

          Sloppy ozbargain, very sloppy

        • +1

You got a free stalker with your order what a bargain !

        • Lol, Beakeroo is very obviously not associated with TGG.

        • +1

I am actually an astronaught, international man of mystery and a master chef (not to be confused with the guy from Halo)

          Bow before beaker puny mortals.

        • I think Halo is a pretty cool guy.

        • One could consider him a GoodGuy right?

        • And why did you post this here

Other users may have been confused by your accusation in this thread, hence a post here for clarification.

We have asked you multiple times to discuss by opening a TWAM post.

  • I doubt that Wii U Super Luigi is exhausted stock. I am certain Nintendo has plenty of stock. I am hopeful still.

    • +1

I'm hopeful for you too lukeloop …
Keeping my fingers crossed that you get the games you want.

  • Got a call today regarding one of my orders…apparently they are dispatching Luigu U and I just had to give them an updated address because I originally specified a PO Box which they can't mail to.

My second order of two Pokemon titles for the DS is still in limbo, but if I end up receiving the Luigi game I guess I can count myself lucky. It would be nice to get the second order too, that ones an Xmas gift for a family member. I'll see how things go.

The Luigi order was placed about 8.40am, the Pokemon one at 10.30 for those interested.

    • I ordered Luigi U at 630am and i got a call to say i wont be getting it but they will do their best to fulfill as much of my order as possible, fingers crossed

  • Regarding po boxes I too had a email requesting I call them for change of address I didn't ask at the time but why couldn't they. It's obvious bull since the other good guys shop was able to ship to my p.o. without issue. Received part of my order on Friday arty the p.o. with no issues.

    • I received an order sent to my PO Box from TGG Dubbo.

  • For the rep:
What was the number we should call to discuss the status of our order ?

    • Hi Venom_TAG,

      the number is 1300 466 348

      Carla DV

      • +4

But this number will just lead to

"we will contact you either today or tomorrow"

  • +1

I kinda think TGG is at least honest and admitted they oversold better than claiming only 1 title was on clearance others are pricing errors and dismiss you all with a refund and publicly implied attacked by professionals. Having said that TGG couldn't handle their mistakes quickly and online order setups are not any better than other stores.

  • +1

So from all of the previous comments it's safe to say for those who have not received anything, they won't be right? I mean if they had any stock in hand it would have been sent out already, so those such as myself will be receiving a refund instead. Oh well, conclusively the good guys really screwed this one up and handled it pretty badly. Expected a lot more from this business and some of the stores could sharpen up on their customer service. Anywhoo nothing much more can be done I guess :(

    • +1

      Hi watty,

I don't have the details of your purchase - but it's likely the people who have already received their orders did so because the store had the title as stock on hand. There are still titles being consolidated to suit different orders.

As mentioned I don't have the details of your personal purchase - but the Customer Care Team will be able to advise when they call you.

      Carla DV

    • +1

I posted about two comments up, but I got a call today at 11:30AM to change my PO Box address I had specified to another and apparently Luigi U will be going out. I wasn't expecting such a call this far after the deal was taken offline, so who knows. I'd give it until mid next week perhaps to see if they contact everyone.

  • +2

    @Carla

I ordered 24 games (all different) at around 7.40am the first morning. The odd thing is that some people who ordered after me have already received their games. In my case I didn't even get a store allocation. It was a guest log in if that makes any difference.
Just find it unfair that due to either size or guest log in I didn't receive anything at all. Any clue about this issue or any ideas? Thank you.

    • +6

24 different games? Or were you channelling Broden?

      • +2

Just because I play on all the consoles and all different kind of games I get down voted. Wow, people are really frustrated. 24 Games, not one double and I am going to play them all…..omg.

        • If i didn't own most of the ps3 games I could have chosen 24 titles as well. So I don't doubt you!

    • Hi Snatcher,

Did you receive an order confirmation email?

      Carla DV

      • Hi Carla,

yes I received a confirmation email with order number, order date, my details and then the list with the 24 games. That was the first and last email.

        • Hi Snatcher,

Most likely you are in the calling queue then and the Customer Care Team will advise you which titles they are able to fulfill when they give you a call.

          Carla DV

    • -2

Some stores are more efficient and have more stocks but some stores aren't? I ordered as a guest too and hears nothing yet and I am a regular customer if they lookup my mobile phone number but I don't think that makes any difference. From the games I bought today I think the online store or the franchisor has no controls or very limited controls over the allocated stores more like the brain cannot control or doesn't know that their hands and feet are doing.

  • Hi Carla,

I ordered a few games too that morning when the deals are up and allocated to a store to follow up. However, my problem is Im leaving the country for a long vacation next week. How will I know whether my orders will be delivered/ refund/ getting any gift cards as mentioned by some of our members here.

    Thanks

    • Hi Kahengstudio,

In this case probably your best bet would be to try to call the Customer Care Team on Monday - 1300 466 348.

  • +2

I ordered 2 games in this sale at 9:14am, New Super Luigi U (Wii U) and Black Ops 2 (PS3). I received an allocation to the Nunawading store later that evening saying I was allocated to the Nunawading (VIC) store, where both my orders are "BackOrdered". I haven't heard or received anything since.

This sounds like a similar story than most of the ozbargainers, and I am honestly in no rush for a refund in favour of a final resolution. I just hope that TGG can step up and resolve this issue before it starts getting way out of hand.

Just to lighten the mood, I felt this clip was appropriate - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJqg_-wXnuU

  • +4

It was really great to see a TGG rep on Oz B. Most companies would not bother, so thumbs up for that. But I have to agree with GoldPhonenix0 and i presume most people would as well, prefer the games that was ordered other than a refund.

    • +7

I'm pretty sure TGG knows that this can easily turn into an ACCC fiasco.

  • +4

My local store has prolly 30 games, all inside a filing cabinet…

Saw halo4, vita lbp, uncharted, etc….

They are not completely sold out…

    • If you don't mind, which store is that… just encase TGG say they can't fulfill my Halo 4 order?

    • Told you the head office has no controls of what the franchisee wants to do or the head office simply does not know their stock level by randomly allocating all orders to one store has not enough to fulfill them.

    • Hi Farrba,

      How long ago was that?

Just as a point to mention though - if they were in a 'filing cabinet' they were most likely storing them to be dispatched to allocated orders.

      Carla DV

      • +2

Rep, I think he meant display cabinet or on the shelves for sale.

      • dont think so, they were willing to sell them, but uncharted vita scanned at $39…..vita rayman is $19….there are other games like vita lbp, modnation, halo 4, heaps of 3ds wiiu games, which i didnt bother to ask….

  • Oh drat. Just saw this thread.

I bought a couple of 3DS games as a Christmas present for my nephew at around 7am or so on the day of sale, and specified delivery rather than pickup.

I received a order confirmation, but as of yet have not received any other communication. I gather we're not getting the games? :(.

    • Hi IsometricBacon,

You will be contacted by the Customer Care Team to let you know what is happening with your games. People here are still reporting getting games - so I've got my fingers crossed for you.

      Carla DV

  • +2

I'm going to report this to the ACCC.

I ordered 'Super Luigi U' and 'Zombi U' at 6:03am in the morning.

    Both have been cancelled.

    1. Clearly bait advertising as they had insufficient quantities if they ran out at 6:03am in the morning
    2. Or the staff in store pocketed MY GAMES for themselves
    3. They didn't process the games in order of buying them

In any case, I would like to see TGG die like Retravision and Beta Electrical has in my local area.

    • +10

You want the GG store to die and people lose their jobs because of TWO VIDEOGAMES. Too harsh.

      • +5

The attitude of Australian retailers needs to change. We are the customers and deserve QUALITY SERVICE.

        • +4

From what I can see, the attitude of customers need to change as well.

      • I think what panda didn't mean it because of his own order.

Countless of people in this thread are also having their orders cancelled or put on hold indefinitely.

If TGG can do this to so many people…

        • +1
I won't be buying anything from TGG in the indefinite future.

The retailers around me are shocking. The words 'below cost price', 'go buy it from there if its that price', are what I hear far too often!

  • I wish I could neg this deal… I got the call of dissapointment yesterday.
I dont want a voucher or money back, I want my 3 games or at least the one I reallllly wanted.

  • +2

Hey rep, why are you guys old skool calling everyone? Wouldn't a simple email detailing the situation suffice? You don't even have my up to date phone number anyway, so I won't be contactable by phone.

    • So much this. No one uses phones as phones any more they're just sold as that. Besides who has a current phone number attached to their paypal account yuk if they need me they can email me or send me snail mail. Pretty much nothing is so urgent they MUST call me.

    • +1

      Hi stumo,

It's a great point, but there were so many variations on orders that it was decided that a personal call was the best way forward.

We're not completely all old skool though … I mean we are here too … on forums.

If you want to email [email protected] your order number and updated phone number I will get that updated for you.

      Carla DV

    • +4

No. I believe they are using phone calls so there is no written record of this entire fiasco.

      • This whole forum is a giant written record.

  • +2

I ordered 9 titles before 7:30am the day of the sale, and did the right thing and opened a TGG account so I could check the status of my order if need be. I received my TGG order confirmation at 7:32am, so all looked good. That day I headed into my local store and seen some of the titles on the shelf but left them there, thinking my order will definitely arrive, because surely TGG would have an inventory system that would deduct items from stock as they were sold, and allocate them to customer orders based on the time stamp on your order (first in best dressed) Wednesday night I could still not login to my account, as it wasn't yet active, so I rang their customer service team and got off the phone feeling confident my order was safe because the TGG rep stated that although they were clearance, TGG would most definitely be honouring orders, as they would be ordered directly from suppliers as mine had gone onto backordered status I found out at that stage. All sounded fair, as any of the titles I ordered can still be sourced, it's not like they're unavailable from their Aussie suppliers! Thursday started reading this thread and hearing of refunds etc, so jumped on the phone that night (after finally being able to login to my newly formed TGG account) and spoke to a different rep. He stated that I would get a call by the end of the week (which he mentioned would be Saturday btw) to receive an update on my order, he also said not to panic as TGG will be honouring my order, by reordering from their supplier. I questioned why my order was allocated to a store hundreds of kilometres away, as I had physically seen some of the stock in my local store, and he couldn't answer that one? I have not yet received a call or an email, and TGG still have my cash.

P.S I should've picked up the games that were on the shelf at my local…they're long gone now!
Let's hope everyone gets some clear information as to what's happening.
I wonder If Carla has any updates today?

    • Hi Goldberg,

I can't give updates on personal orders sorry, the clearest information will come from the Customer Care Team who will tell you personally if your order can be fulfilled.

It's true that we are trying to source additional stock from suppliers to fulfill as many orders as possible. But just a reminder to everyone watching this thread - that this was a Clearance Sale for a limited time only.

Hang in there - hopefully you will get a call from our team soon.

      Carla DV

      • -3

this thread is now dominated with numerous store personnel using voting. good to see ozbargain being clear about what business its in ……….

        • +2

And despite your obvious and continued expression of hatred towards GoodGuys and this deal you are still yet to neg?

      • +13

"But just a reminder to everyone watching this thread - that this was a Clearance Sale for a limited time only"

Yes and we all ordered and paid within that limited time. Not sure what your point is there.

      • +1

It's understood that its a clearance sale, it's just that we weren't turned away once stock ran out and our money was taken and held

  • +1

    Still waiting.

  • Hi Do good guys call on Sundays ? Or do we have to wait till Monday

    • Hi BrenConstantine,

No phone calls on Sunday - I believe the team are working on getting everyone an email update and the Customer Care Team will be back on the phones tomorrow.

      Carla DV

  • Hi Carla,

Will the GG be calling my home phone or mobile?

    • Hi trumpedup,

The Customer Care Team will be calling the number you have listed on your order - if you have both they will most likely try the mobile number first.

      Carla DV

  • I'm so confused about my order. I don't have the effort to go into detail. I'll wait till next week to see if anything arrives. If not then I <<<<<< will have to chase it up.

  • +8

I'm contacting the ACCC this whole sale was so unorganized, all you get is the run around from the good guys no solid info, you take peoples money before allocating the stock which is illegal to do and then try buy people off with a gift card it's totally unacceptable the good guys should honor everyone's orders even if it's at there own cost.

    • +4

Not should, they have to honor the sale once the money was taken.

      • Especially since this clearly wasn't a pricing mistake.

Communication with TGG has been tedious so far.

Me ~ Can I get the status of my online order?
TGG ~ I'm sorry, you'll receive a call from another team on Monday who will give you more details
Me ~ Can I get the direct contact number to this team?
TGG ~ I'm sorry, you can't call them only they can call you
Me~ Is there an email contact?
TGG ~ Yes. webmaster@ etc etc etc

This is fishy, how can there only be a one way communication?
This would obviously be the case only if the call center had one job. Their job is to inform customers that their orders will be refunded. This means they people calling you are just news delivery. They don't have any authority or ability to actually help you resolve the issue.

  • Hi Carla,

I've sent you an email reply. I do hope that you can get back to me.

    • Hi lamerthanlam - can you please resend. I haven't received anything since the first email.

      Carla DV

      • I've just sent you another 2 copies.

        • Hi lamerthanlam,

I still haven't received any email so have contacted you via the messages here.

          Carla DV

  • +12

    After reading this: http://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/sales-delivery/non-delivery…

    1) Refuse your refund
    2) Demand them to supply your games, since money has been accepted they have to supply the goods. This might sound kind of mean on my end but even if they have to make a loss providing the goods, so be it. We are the buyers and and they are the sellers, simple as that.

"Under the Australian Consumer Law, businesses must not accept payment for products or services if:
-they know, or should have known, they would not be able to supply the products or services within the timeframe indicated or if no timeframe was provided, within a reasonable time."

    • +3

Yep that's what i did but haven't heard anything back from them. They are 100% in the wrong and they know it.

    • +2

      This is fantastic.

      Thanks for the reference link.

Now… is there any thing about damages?

    • The customer rep who called me yesterday morning told me that I have to accept the refund. I mentioned how they "wrongly accepted payment", but apparently things like the Competition and Consumer Act mean very little to them.

I refused the refund and I'm now waiting for a call back from the actual Good Guys instead of some call centre that was hired to deal with this mess.

    • @watty You forgot to include the business side:

This part of the law is not intended to cover businesses who genuinely try to meet supply agreements, for example, if:

"the failure to supply was due to something beyond their control, including the act or omission by another person"
"they exercised due diligence and took reasonable precautions."

Case in point: Dick Smith, Lenovo, Kogan

FYI: I don't work for TGG and I have 2 orders (BOPS2 and AA) which I have not received any phone call nor email. Acting like it's the end of the world missing out on games will not help me so I take it in stride and wait. Will I be pissed? Yup, like I was pissed with the above retailers mentioned. But life goes on - or until the next bargain.

      • +8

        @downero

This wasn't beyond their control. They just did very little to control it or even to prepare for it.

They knew early in the morning that they didn't have the stock and they let the online sale run throughout the day. They should have immediately pulled down the sale when it was clear that they would not be able to supply.

They took the customers money without being entitled to it.

        • Spot on Kamoi

        • +4

Absolutely. Their payment system not being able to track stock accurately and in a timely manner is something that is within their control. Worse case they should have just taken the items offline mid morning rather than to let the sale continue.

I'd be keen to know what 'reasonable precautions' they took since I don't think they have met that condition at all.

As I've posted earlier, life goes on, but certainly they are in the wrong here.

  • Hi Carla,
I was told there is 0% probability of more stock coming in and should straight out accept a refund. Although two hours after the first phone call I was also told one of my games had just become available. I really would like to wait as long as necessary for stock to become available rather than receive a refund for anything that is just currently unavailable. If I sent the email address given this information would it be able to be logged next to my order number or email address? Or if there is some other point of contact that is available on a Sunday?

Given the link above to the section in the Australian Consumer Law I won't be happy if I am forced to take a full or even partial refund.

    • Hi Luke53,

Not sure who gave you that information - but my understanding is that if your games are titles that we have coming in from suppliers then there is 100% chance of them being fulfilled. If your games are deleted items, no longer available, then of course we will arrange a full refund.

The Customer Care Team will be back contacting customers tomorrow.

I can't access your personal order but can let you know that the team are working on an update for everyone via email. So stay tuned.

      Carla DV

      • Hi Carla,

Thanks for the update. The original info came from a direct call from The Good Guys and was in relation to ALL games available in the sale.
I'll wait to see what happens.

        • Hi Luke53,

An email has been sent with an update of the game titles we know we can get for orders.
If you have others on your order not mentioned in that list the Customer Care Team will call you to discuss.

          Carla DV

        • Thanks Carla

        • +1

What games are being fulfilled ?

  • +4

I Think TGG know by now that OzBarginers are a force to be reckoned with when you do the wrong thing.
The only way I can see for them to learn from this is to demand what we paid for, which is our right, so next time they have a games sale it's done properly.

  • Rep can you explain to me why Pokémon X has been back-ordered when it is still being advertised on your site? I can add it to my cart etc. and it says usually ships 3-5 business days.

I need to know if it is being supplied to me as this is the game my son asked for for Christmas. If you won't supply then I need to buy it elsewhere.

    • So if that game is in stock, and hes paid for it he has to get it according to ACCC

      • Pretty much, since as the day went buy games were removed from the website slowly, it's safe to assume that it was removed due to it being sold out. Given that, it means that prior to removal it was still in stock.

    • Hi chichi - trying to find out now for you.

      Carla DV

  • I wonder how many brodens drove around to every TGG store they could find before 10am taking as many games they could afford for resale on eBay

  • +1

Couldn't TGG get more stocks from suppliers to fulfil the orders at a loss and seek for compensation from the programming company designed and setup the online store for TGG and eventually the programming company claims indemnity insurance and the insurance company passes on the costs by increasing our annual insurance premiums?
