  • can u buy the gift card online?

    • It says Not Available on Shop Online

  • Why wouldn't you just buy the gift cards before you shop? That has to be the easiest 20 per cent discount ever.

      16.6%, actually…

So there shouldn't be a problem if you wanted to but 8k worth of gift cards for a new kitchen?

    • My parents just spent about that on one from there. Seems to be good quality so far.

  • Don't forget they sell appliances too, fridges, stoves, etc..

  • Damn - we are about to get a new kitchen through Ikea…. In Sydney. Might give them a call later and see if they will match this offer.

  • Can someone in WA buy these and use them in say Sydney?

    • +1

Probably not, WA franchise is owned by a different group than the eastern states. WA & SA are the same owners, whilst the rest are another bunch. You'll notice this when you log onto ikea.com.au, they split them up asking which state you are in.

  • A 20% kitchen sale plus this 16% discount would be a steal for an Ikea kitchen. Shame it's not in Melbourne :(

    • -1

Not a coincidence that the two offers do not overlap.

But can we really buy dozens of these for kitchen cabinets?

    • try to ask Melbourne IKEA to match the deal?

  • Just get mate to buy you the gift cards and sydney, Temp and Rhodes ikea here I come. Or maybe over the phone order and have it delivered?

    • Won't work. WA/SA gift cards are only valid in those states. Still, if it's flat-packed, it might be worth getting your mate to purchase what you need over there and shipping it privately.

If you're getting a new kitchen in WA, you can stack it with this:

Spend over $2000 on a new IKEA kitchen in one transaction and receive a $100 IKEA Gift Card for every $1000 you spend.

You can pay whichever way suits you! We accept cash, EFTPOS, Visa, MasterCard, personal cheques (with proper ID) and of course, IKEA Gift Cards.

You will qualify for this offer if you purchase your new IKEA kitchen for a value of $2000 or more in one single transaction. Then for every $1000 spent on an IKEA kitchen in one single qualifying transaction, you will be eligible to claim a $100 IKEA Gift Card. For example, if you spend $3,200 on your new IKEA kitchen, you will be eligible to claim a $300 IKEA Gift Card.

    • Thanks, had forgotten that.
Its a standard, long-running offer, and an alternative choice to the "free" 24 month finance.

  • Just had a call from my wife who's gotten a few of the gift cards, apparently the offer ends today according to one of the staff members she spoke to, so if you want to get your hands on one, I'd suggest that you head down there before they close tonight…

  • "If purchasing multiple, the $100 gift cards can be consolidated into one card and the free $20 gift cards consolidated into another card"

Has anyone actually tested this? According to the press add

Only one $20 Gift Card for every $100 Gift Card purchased. Bonus Gift Card issued separately

    • yep, just bought one $1000 giftcard , the $200 bonus was on separate card

  • Now that's annoying, thought ikea was a retail chain? HV, Myer DJ cards can be used anywhere, correct me of in wrong.

NUMERÄR benchtop $120 in the east, $79+tax in the US, and $180 in WA.
Cabinet $325 in the east, $420 in WA http://www.ikea.com/aa/en/catalog/products/S89883130/
    Another one $235 vs $325. http://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/S29884236/#/S2988…
    And so on.

We are really ripped off in WA by Ikea, even more than the East.
This deal no looking so great now.
