But as an FYI.. "Supplementary Cards qualify as an Eligible Card only if registered for the Offer separately."

      • I registered a Supplementary Card for my wife and got the confirmation email for eligibility…

        • Given the T&C, the supplementary card registered separately would certainly be eligible.

Therefore if purchase are made using the registered supplement card than the statement credit will apply, however I would think that this would be marked as a "used" offer under the "card member", and no further statement credit be apply to any other Amex card held under this "card member" account.

  • fully subscribed - sad..too late

  • Expired!

  • Maxed out already! Ozbargained!

  • Expired :(

  • Damn, would've been good to get this one. They were pretty heavy on capping this one - usually even though there are limits you feel like it's a fudged figure 'coz you still get in after a while, but this one - zing! - gone.

  • OP, where did you get the link from?

    • Emailed to me.

  • Did anyone get an e-mail after their eligible purchase? Didn't get one like the Shop Small promo.

    • I didn't get one like shop small either.
Used two amex cards, one for membership and one for shopping.

    • +1

you have to spend instore not online to get rebate (see terms)

      C. Eligible Transactions

      Only valid transactions made:
      1. On your Registered Card;
      2. After the date you register your Card; and
      3. Directly in store at Costco in Australia are Eligible Transactions.

The following are not Eligible Transactions:

      1. Purchasing a Merchant's goods through a third party
      2. Transactions that are subsequently cancelled or refunded
      3. Online transactions.

Did you spend online or instore.

Also says 'After the date you register your Card' so maybe not eligible if only registered today.

      • Bugger. No big deal I guess, didn't exactly bought frivolous things that I don't need.

        • I know in previous deals prior to the shop small, they never emailed the person in regards to redemption.

Maybe somebody who claims it tomorrow can tell us if there is a email or not…..

        • Not quite, IIRC the whole e-mail thing started round about October/November when they run the DJ $150 spend/$30 credit campaign.

        • But that one was not via Amex Network, it was via Amex themselves through your "Offers" Menu.

I don't remember any Amex Network ones which had email thing except for the Shop Small promotion.

        • Hi All,
You do not get a Redemption Email for this Offer…..
I signed up yesterday, and today I went and bought something over $60, no email at all.

During the Shop Small promotion, emails came straight away.

I think the emails for Amex Network only applied to Shop Small. Since that was the first promotion which actually sent Redemption emails, other promotions prior to that never sent a email, you will just magically see the credit get applied.

        • We all got our confirmation mail at home(3 cards)

        • You got the redemption email after you spent $60 from Costco?

If yes, did you use the link from OP?

        • just to avoid confusion: we got the registration confirmation emails, we haven't gone to Costco yet, my bad, I thought something was wrong when Iplau wrote" no email at all". I got the $50 from the Apple deal and didn't get any redemption confirmation either

        • haha sorry for the confusion.
What I meant from redemption email is when they send you the "You have successfully redeemed the $60 on card xxxx002913".

I believe these emails were special for Shop Small from Amex Network, no other promotion on there does these emails.

        • No, I went to crossroads today and spent 4 x 60.xx, no email received. However a few days ago when I bought over $250 in David Jones, the confirmation email arrived almost immediately after transaction. No sure how Amex system is working.

        • Seems like there's no real consistency which campaign/promo will have those e-mails issued.

        • David Jones offer was available directly via Amex via their offers page when you log in.

This one was offered via Amex Network.

From experience, no amex network ones send those emails, the only exception was Shop Small.

          Hopefully that clears things up.

      • Got Two lots of $60 on my account today. I registered Saturday morning and after few hours went to Costco, used my card and supplementary card. No email but I just checked online and got $60 x 2. Nice!

        • Ditto so I'm feeling slightly relieved.

        • So 2 lots of $60 in your single Amex account/statement?

  • At Ringwood VIC today, there were hugeeee lines of people just to sign up.
Is this normal or could it be due to this deal?

    • Its normal.

The eastern suburbs people who found it too far to go to Docklands, is starting to go to Ringwood's one which is closer. It has been like that since they opened, a huge line of people for the subscription. They sometimes even open 4 counters for subscriptions in the car park.

  • Thanks, registered.

  • Never been to Costco before. If we buy groceries worth $120, can they split payment using two cards?

    • as long as they are in cardholders' name.

    • Only if you hold a Business Membership you can do 2 transactions.
On a Gold Star membership you can only do 1 transaction.

However….. nothing stopping you from purchasing, then going back in and going to check out again….

They sometimes allow spouses' credit cards, e.g. your wife's or husband's credit card. Depending on how lenient the check out guy is. Since there is no enforcement of credit card name must equal to membership name on their system, its just policy that the checkout person checks the names.

This trick only really works with a Business Membership due to 2 transactions at a time.
What I do to get around the card holder name is…. first card I use they check it against my card, put that through, then the 2nd transaction they assume you are using the same card, then whip out the other card and use PIN so they don't need to see the card at all.

      • Thanks. Found a nice checkout guy and managed to split payment with 2 cards.

  • far out..when I went today the store kept declining amex cards….have to try again tomorrow~ la ~ In Canberra

    • I had exactly same problem. I was told they were having problems with Amex card. Funny enough, it failed on 2 eftpos machines but transaction went through on third machine.

  • Anyone who registered thru OP's link, can you check online is the offer saved on your account?

I registered and received email from AMEX but I can't see the offer saved on my account, only can see the Westfield and David jones offer saved

Do you guys think anything to do with the link? Is a bit different from others…

    https://enroll.amexnetwork.com/AU/en/costco-2013/?om_lid=ame…

    • Amex Network ones never appear in Amex Offers Page.

    • +1

I'm the same as you. Both primary and sub cards:
Westfield and David jones - Yes.
      Cosco - No.

  • Plan to drive a 3 hr round trip there tomorrow, any bargains around/below $60 in Costco?I know it's free $60s, but still want to squeeze the best value out of the freebie.

Can't eat too many foods, and I think they don't do split payments, and I have 3 cards to be used.

    • I also want to know their price.

      • +1

Some stuff keeps changing prices e.g. UpNGo keeps swinging between 15.99 to 28.59 for 24 pack. Some stuff is also dearer than ssupermarkets like Oreo's

    • +2

Best bet is to use the credit to stock up on your regular stuff, tp, detergent etc. then take the money you save and put aside for the next Ozbargain. I struggled to spend the $60. Coke is ok price.

  • Is membership store specific, I happen to be in Sydney during that time and thought would take the membership from there to use later in Brisbane once the north lakes store opens…thanks

    • if your comment is a question the answer is "No" :)

    • Nope, so far my Auburn registered card have been used in Docklands, Crossroads, Canberra and obviously Auburn too. Think my aunt's US card have worked here too.

    • On the application form, it stated that the membership is worldwide.

      • World wide membership is confirmed. I have used my Australian Costco member card in one of the Californian stores.

  • How long does it take for new transaction to track?

    • +1

^^^ I think a few of us registered on Saturday, went there to the shop the same day and the credit appeared this morning. Perhaps next day? Some of the other promos are slower given the number of rego's on offer.

      • Got mine this morning. Spent on Saturday.

        • Spent on Saturday also… Got 2x $60 for me. Yum Yum free monies.

        • Thanks. Got a bit worried as i havnt got yet. I went on Sunday though.

  • Anyone join online and get the $60 credit?

  • $60 credit has been applied, only took 3 days

  • To the people who got the credit already, I want to ask a stupid question, how much did you spend? Exactly $60 or a little bit over?

I spend $61.XX in store today.

And when I just checked the T&C website again, it said " spend $60.00 in a single Eligible Transaction on your Registered Card in store only at Costco in Australia", there is NO "or more". Do we need to spend exactly $60?

    • You have to total your spend to exactly $60……………..ok not really just $60 or over.

      • I'm really hope what you said is incorrect…..Otherwise I have to go to Costco again……

        • +1

Mine was around $80 for each.

        • Thanks :) now it seems no need to be exactly $60. Over $60 will also be qualified.

    • +1

      $170

      • Do you mean you spent $170 in a single transaction on your registered Amex card and got $60 credit back already?

        • +1

Yes. Spent $170 on goods on Saturday, $60 credit appeared today.

        • Yeah!!! Thank you Bitsurfr.
So "or more" is OK :) Spend over $60 is OK :) hahaha~~~

  • Anyone use it for membership fee and get credited back?

    • +3

      Yep. Got it.

      • +1

Was it online, or in store?

        • In store.

        • May I know what is the description on your Amex statement. Is it Costco Wholesale? Just wonder if Amex can tell if someone join online or in store. Thanks

        • Thank you dear for the prompt reply.lol

  • Anyone tried filling up at the Costco servo and see if they get the $60 credit?

  • +2

Went with mum (who has membership), bought about $150 worth of stuff.
Split payment between my card ($60 exactly) and my wife's.
My checkout didn't care that the names on the cards were different to the membership holder, was happy to split the bill.
    Received both credits. Thanks OP!

    • Was the second card on a separate account or just a supp card?

      • Supp card

        • Do you see it as a two separate -$60 transaction on the statement?

        • Two separate charges, two separate credits.

  • North Lakes store office is now open and seems to be taking new registrations, dont know about the opening hours but all the info I have is on this link. This will help anyone in Brissie who has already registered for the Amex deal.
