    What's wrong with the Gigabyte AMD Radeon R9 270 2GB - 209$?

    Edit:

    Should have said:

According to toms hardware chart it's a step down. Am I likely to notice a big difference given 60$ price difference? (without starting an amd/geforce flamewar)

Take a look at that and some other benchmarks.

Looks to me that you WILL notice a difference, at least in the FPS games I was looking at. If you can afford the extra $60 and enjoy your games a lot, then I would say definitely do it.

      • I've been playing L4D2 for the last couple of years but I figure it's NEARLY time to move on ;)

        Thanks for your help!

    • not the best comparison site but it gives you a quick overview

      http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-R9-270-vs-GeForce-GTX-760

If push comes to shove the R9 270 is not bad buy…but the GTX 760 would be the better buy…

      • Thanks. My AMD 4800HD is getting a bit old. I haven't had a geforce for the last couple of cards but I was always happy with him.

Gpuboss isn't all that useful for comparing GPUs. Just use the links I provided, they are based on actual game benchmarks, from more reputable sites.

    • I already included a link to Anandtech bench. As I said, you can use it to compare cards pretty thoroughly. Select the cards you want from the dropdown.

Also check Tom's hardware chart (also linked), as it'll show you what other cards are as fast as the R9 270. Most likely one of those is cheaper, since the R9 series is new.

+1 For 3TB Hard drive for $109. Now only if I didn't have to remove it from it's housing and could get the internal drive for the same price!

    • Agreed! I've been hanging out for a real good deal on internal hard drives. Seems only the externals have the extra nice special prices.

  • SE: How big is the power plug on the TV side of the Belkin Screencast?
(I have a wall mounted TV, with the power outlet located directly behind the TV. If it is a 'block' it definitely wont fit. A standard jug plug may just fit, but something flat and at 90 degrees would be perfect!)

    • Not sure - only able to find out on monday - but i believe it is more likely a "block" type.

  • Hey rep - I'll be getting a PS4 next week, and I'm sure there are other who like me, would love to upgrade the HDD to an SSHD. Reckon we could see a deal on a 2.5" 500GB/1TB SSHD soon?

Will find out if we can accomodate this into upcoming deals.

  • Will it handle Bf3 and bf4 at 2560 x 1440 (one monitor)? Just temporary.

  • Seems to be out of stock now.
