The only thing with Huawei is the recent thing in the news regarding spying on Australian's but hey if you're okay with that then bleh buy it.

A lot of hoo haa… btw, there are more cia agents hiding under your bed…

      For $10 more is the G526 better value?… G526 has 4G & more ram.

      • I bought G526 for $99 with the previous deal.

          Don't tell me that coz I missed out… :-(

      • Well guys, I ve got 2 of these (for myself and my wife) for a year now, and I have to admit they are quite decent.
Pros: battery lasts a lot; big screen with gorilla glass, stereo sound and others.
Cons: you cannot move apps on sd card, the screen is like a magnet for fingerprints, the volume at minimum is still louder than you would probably like to be….ummmm…that s about it I think. Ah, the zoom feature does not work on all sites, compared to my samsung 7.7 tablet which works on all sites (my wife claims that).

        • "the zoom feature does not work on all sites, "

Just download Google Chrome and use the force zoom feature.

        • move to sd… have you tried changing the setting?

$99 for G526 was one of my better purchased :)

    • We most likely all have a file stored on us at Pine Gap thanks to US government and ASIO, Google app data should be the least of our worries.

    • american 007s are laughing badly now.

    • Thing is everyone is at it, we have no privacy.

      Cheers, done

  • Reminds me of the Nokitel code from Hackers :-)

  • Huawei Ascend G600 has an old dual core CPU MSM8225 (same one as Huawei Y300). It does have a 8MP camera.

Huawei Ascend G526 (MSM8930 - which has 4G/LTE) might be better though that one has 5MP camera. G526 was on special before for $99.

The big question is how much real usable phone storage is available for G600. G526, despite having 4GB "internal storage". Huawei allocated as 2GB ROM (cannot be used) + 1GB system partition (cannot really be used/changed unless you root your phone + 1GB user usable storage !@!@# - that is the biggest issue with G526.

Put a 32GB SD card in it and set your storage to the SD Card. Then most of your apps can be stored on the SD Card (only a small portion will need the internal memory).

  • I bought this phone about 2 months ago, it's starting to slow down but I only have to restart it every 2-3 weeks and I could restore to factory but I'd rather suffer through it then re-download apps. I think the main problem is the "emotion-user interface" which is basically a custom android that is put on these with no alternative roms to get back to stock.

Emotion UI takes the power this phone has and makes it look really good and slick, the only problem is that it leaves NOTHING for other applications. I'll be happy once I can put this phone on stock android and get away from bloatware.
