  • Add promotion code " TAKE10OFF " for everyone to see. :)

  • Excludes Apple Products

  • +4

Does not seem to be adding for click & collect orders.

    Is it for Delivery only?

    • Free delivery ends tomorrow!

      • +2

Unfortunately, the item does not have delivery available. :(

        • +2

If you have an item each from click and collect and delivery, it seems to take the discount off both!

  • +8

I'm assuming it can be used with the Ps4, which makes it $493 with free shipping.

    • +1

The code appears to work for me if I pre-order the PS4.
      Very tempting indeed.

      • oh man and me too now lol

    • +2

Ordered one. It's about time I purchased a newly released console instead of one that's several years old.

    • +1

yeah, i got a ps4… was better than the amazon deals with the USD being stronger etc.. so it's nice to have local AU stock for the OS price almost.

PS4 great buy… i think given the wait for it as well it's a fair discount.

  • -1

i think it only works on items that aren't on sale.

    • +2

Nope…works on discounted prices too (checked by placing an item into the cart and applied coupon)

      • -2

cool thanks for confirming, it must just be apple products then.

  • It just worked for me on the Panasonic 3D Bluray player that is already 20% off so it should be OK for other stuff already on special ;)

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/128189

      • Free shipping too. Wanted to buy this tv for a while since I like the design but missed out on the last deal. Was about to buy it for 747. So glad this deal came along.

    • I just checked that too :)

    • +14

      Just bought one.
Wasn't even looking to buy a tv at all!

      • +5

wow that's the ozbargain spirit! I like it.

      • +4

        The power of OzBargain

      • +4

Sadly I couldn't justify another TV…got some printer ink instead. Only mildly satisfying. :p

      • +1

Hahaha!! Funniest thing I've read all day!

      • bought one too, now to FINALLY throw out the CRT.

        • +1

Bought one, such an impulse buy already have a couple of 50 inchers in the lounge and theatre. Guess I'll do a cheeky swap and give the kids one of those in the activity room while keeping this beauty for myself. Free delivery is also awesome, best TV deal of the year IMHO.

    • +4

haha, I still remember two days ago, DS selling the same TV on their front page with a "Crazy Price" tag: $999 …but everyone know TGG is selling $747 at the same time. Their boss probably feeling humiliated then put up with $747 with delivery, $2 cheaper than TGG.

I bought from TGG store at $747 plus $100 store credit, so I still happy with TGG.

    • maybe buy $680 gift card for $612 and purchase this tv for $672

so at the end you pay $612 for the TV?

  • Didn't seem to work in addition to the 10% off Apple products.

    • Unfortunately yes!

    • +3

      "*excludes Apple products"

    • +7

Buy gift cards with this coupon, then use that to purchase your Apple gear?

  • +16

Folks also works on gift cards.

    • wow! getting an apple now!

    • +8

beat me to it. buy the digital gift card then once u receive the code buy what you actually needed for another 10% off..

      • +4

What if I need another giftcard? :D

      • Are the gift cards sent digitally?

        • So you can effectively loop the 10%? I don't think this would work….

Prob won't get the digital gift card until the 10% promo is over!

        • That's what I'm thinking. They'll probably clamp down on the loophole as well.

EDIT: Ended up pre-ordering the PS4.

        • how come after i applied the coupon code, instead of taking 10% off, a delivery fee was added in????

      • +5

Too bad dick smith gift card is only redeemable in stores. For online, only woolworth wish gift card can be redeemed online.

        • +1

Are you sure? I just used my DSE gift card bought another gift card, and got the confirmation email

      • +1

Does anyone know how long it will take to get the digital gift card?

        • It states within 4 hours!

  • +1

    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/tvs/samsung-64-163cm-full-hd-3d-…

Am very happy with the TV so far!

    • Can only click and collect that

      • +1

Ah nuts, I got mine delivered- they must have changed it for some reason.

    • tv is now no longer available to add to cart for delivery :(

bought a sony 50inch, excellent post!

  • +1

Thanks OP. Bought a sony 50 inch.

  • waow

  • can you use the gift cards via online purchase? descriptions says can only be used in store?

    • Wouldnt that be awesome….20% total saving :)

I wanted an ipad air but apple products not included. The code works on gift cards but no use for the air as 10% is the standard discount you can get from good guys. Can get 15% family and friends through apple mate but i want to put the ipad on interest free.

      Sucks!

    • They are called Digital Gift Cards and in description says - 4 hour delivery time.

  • I'm really happy. I'm getting another 10% off by buying with the 10% extra value DS gift cards bought with the 5% off wish cards.

    • As previously said by dannyboi, giftception ;)

      • +1

Nope, you can use the DS gift cards. I just used my discounted gift cards to order. You will see the boxes to enter your gift card code and pin number when you checkout.

        • Hmm, Just tried my gift cards, didn't work unfortunately.

  • Thanks OP.

  • Must resist PS4….

    • +2

Unable to resist - damn you op! haha thanks.

  • This is getting crazy!!!!!!

  • Another TV victim, thanks OP

  • Can this code coincide with the staff discount?

    • seems like it, during payment checkout there is enter staff card bit in there

      • I tried the takeoff10 and staff discount at same time but didn't seem to take anything off the price , not sure because i only had a $20 item in cart. There was word that staff discount for woolies staff would no longer be valid at dick smith but not sure of the date that was happening.

        • +1

That's no good… It feels like DickSmith is moving away from Woolworths limited…

        • Towards David Jones?

        • +1

Woolworths already sold dick smith last year (or the year before, I forget).

        • I guess good things come to a end. Well in this case it does.

      • I was only able to use the take10off code. The staff number did nothing…

    • Hey mate

What's staff discount on iPads for you guys?

      Cheers

      Wayno :)

    • -4

Judging by the negs, I would say not.

    • +1

Not sure if that means ladyfriend or… actual baby girl.

  • +4

Regarding the gift card to buy another gift card:

I just purchased a gift card to test it, unfortunately it says status: verify payment. I suspect the gift card won't be delivered until tomorrow - definitely not immediate delivery for those wondering.

    • Yeah the gift cards at online checkout said home Delievery so i am sure you won't get it delivered to your inbox!

That sucks but thanks for testing

Would be awesome to get 20% like the Xbox live deal with double discount.

      • +2

"Digital Gift Cards will be delivered directly to the nominated email within 4 hours."

If it's not delivered in 4 hours I'll ask for a refund as it's not worth it for me. Likewise if they are indeed not valid for online orders - it's incredibly misleading if that's the case. The title of the product is "Dick Smith Digital Gift Card" which to any regular person would indicate it could be used for online use.

        Time will tell…

        • +1

Yeah I will be asking for a refund too - 4 hours is what I was promised at purchase so I am expecting to get them.

        • +2

          They will deny the refund:
          "Good Afternoon,

Thank you for taking the time to email Dick Smith Online.

In relation to your inquiry, we would like to inform you that we can not cancel your order because status of your order have been despatched today at 30/12/2013.

If you have any further enquiries please do not hesitate to contact us via email ([email protected]) or phone on 1300 366 644."

However, feel free to use my email to escalate your refund request:

          "Good Afternoon,

In relation to your reply, I would like to inform you that I would like a refund for both orders.

As per the ACCC website, I am within my rights to have you provide a refund. Please refer to: http://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/consumer-rights-guarantees/…

"When you have a major problem with a product, you have the right to ask for your choice of a replacement or refund.

A product or good has a major problem when:
*it has a problem that would have stopped someone from buying it if they’d known about it
          *it is unsafe
*it is significantly different from the sample or description
*it doesn’t do what the business said it would, or what you asked for and can’t easily be fixed."
Your website clearly states: "Digital Gift Cards will be delivered directly to the nominated email within 4 hours." This did not take place, thereby fulfilling three of the identifiers of a major problem (highlighted for your convenience).

Please ensure the refunds are processed in a timely fashion.

          Regards,"

        • +2

Ah, you used the ACCC Defense

        • I think consumer rights law has everything to do with this case.

        • Prepare to get passed around.

They responded with 'call the call center'. I was on hold for 37 minutes and was told that I would not receive a refund as it was a case of 'change of mind'. I asked to be escalated to a supervisor.

Another 30 minutes passed before the same girl said she could process a refund. I asked to be transferred to a supervisor who hung up on me. Total call time was +77 minutes (that was my last screenshot).

Their Facebook team censored posts that contained their original emails sent.

Who knows if a refund has actually been processed.

    • How did you pay?

      • +1

Credit Card and also PayPal to test both methods. As above, if they don't arrive before the end of tonight I am going to cancel the order.

    • Thanks for taking one for the team!

      • +7

Pleasure. A few months ago I found the same system implemented at a major online shoe retailer. After many gift cards purchased with gift cards I accumulated a tidy +$300 profit and made my purchases. A few hours afterwards I received a funny email thanking me for bringing the flaws in their system to their attention and that they would happily send me my goods. Best customer service ever.

Unfortunately for OzB's they promptly patched the workaround so I couldn't share the love.

        • +5

Just to clarify for those getting upset. I had no intention on it actually working, moreover, if they wanted to cancel well that's their prerogative. There would have been no sour taste or ill feelings towards them.

For them it was an insanely cheap learning exercise about the importance of stringently checking and testing their e-commerce system. They patched their system almost immediately and their customer service dealt with the situation exceptionally and now I am a happy regular customer - win win for everyone.

        • Congrats! Out of curiosity, which store was it?

        • StyleTread

  • GoPro Hero 3+ Silver $385.20 with a bonus $50 gift card. Not bad. The black is out of stock.

  • +1

Taken from the DSE website re DIGITAL GIFT CARDS: Digital Gift Cards will be delivered directly to the nominated email within 4 hours. They must be printed to redeem in store. Gift cards are valid for 12 months from the date of issue and are redeemable at any Dick Smith store across Australia.

so looks like up to 4hrs. hopefully less than 2 so you can get the extra 10% discount off
