January Sale;
100% Pure Persian Saffron 2gr. $10.95 - Free Shipping & Free Saffron Tea bag sample
100% natural saffron is sourced from the farmers cooperative in Khorasan, Iran.
Comes in a handy, clear bag.
All Saffron Store saffron is of the most superior quality, grade 1 and certified.

We import only the top quality “Sargol” Grade Persian Saffron, sometimes called “all-red” or Grade-1 Saffron. “All-red” refers to colour of the individual saffron threads in Sargol grade Saffron. Only the topmost part of the crocus stigma is deep red in colour.
In Sargol saffron the red sections are cut and separated from the base of the stigma prior to drying.

Saffron that contains threads with yellow parts, further down the stigma, (called “Mancha” grade saffron) will not give the same depth of flavour and colour. It is the top red section that provides the most intense colour flavour to any dish.

At the Saffron Store the saffron you buy online will give you excellent value for money. We negotiate with qualified and well-known saffron cooperatives in Iran to obtain the quality saffron at the best possible price. As our saffron is all top quality, you will only need to use a small amount for fantastic results.

    • There's no information about the grade of the saffron of that listing.

      • "You are bidding for the finest Saffron from the best producers of Saffron in the world."

        Versus

"We import only the top quality “Sargol” Grade Persian Saffron, sometimes called “all-red” or Grade-1 Saffron."

Seems like much of a muchness about their claims to me…

This ebay seller has only had 24 feedback (3 for saffron that I can see), and may not be registered for an ABN or GST.

The saffron store in this deal is registered:

      Entity name: GHOBADI, MOHAMMAD
ABN status: Active from 25 Mar 2013
      Entity type: Individual/Sole Trader
Goods & Services Tax (GST): Registered from 25 Mar 2013
      Main business location: VIC 3082

As per above, cheaper elsewhere and saving $3 is not really much of a bargain.

    • +3

You can't go a dollar amount - It's a claimed saving of almost 22% - that's bargain worthy in my book. You neg on $.95 and say $3 isn't a bargain?

      • I Neg'd on the following two criteria:
        1) The same shop offered a bigger discount only 2 days ago: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/129077
        (That offer is still valid)
        2) The ebay item linked above appears to be virtually identical (but IMHO is packed better) and is cheaper.
… hence IMHO this offer is not worthy of bargain status.

        • +1

          1) That offer is for a different product size - buy more bigger discount, makes sense to me. I reckon they should have combined their posts as it's the same sale

          2) Yep - that's $.95 cheaper. Comes in a box instead of a bag

I know nothing about the economics of saffron, hence my lack of vote on this deal. Can't say I think your arguments are worth negging this deal.
