This will soon be free at all/most Australian universities this year:

    • The student depicted in the photo was so excited to be using a Microsoft product that she couldn't wait to get home to try it… instead opting for carefully organizing her stationery on the floor, placing her tablet on the ground, and lying on the carpet of a foyer somewhere… wtf?

      • Hopefully she is studying physiotherapy so when she is finished thinking is cool she can get her back fixed and address the wrist RSI that she is going to develop using a tablet like that ;-)

This is almost certainly MSDNAA (Dreamspark) and is not a deal but a program that Microsoft uses to get students familiar with their software. It is the same program that the NSW education department subscribed to, but at a different institution.

Anyone can see the software available on this link. It basically includes most microsoft off the shelf products except for Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint).

This is available to staff and students at many academic institutions (Universities, TAFE) although it may be limited by faculty (typically IT/Engineering).

Should be on the forum, and it has been posted before. Maybe only new posts for new software products added to the library, or an institution that has recently subscribed, like NSW department of education?

  • I believe most (Australian) Universities have had this for quite a while. The University of Western Sydney (UWS) definitely had "it" 3+ years ago and allows it's IT and Engineering Students to attain a large catalogue of Microsoft Programs/OS's, AutoDesk, SolidWorks, VMWare Applications, and many other products.

    thanks!

  • What about ex ECU students? ")

    • They're all too busy working at McDonalds…
(Sorry, couldn't help myself - wife got her degree at ECU)

      • It's hard when you're the franchise owner and makes millions every year, true that.

    • it requires ECU username and password, so give your old ID a shot and if it works, tell us please..

Sorry guys, didn't mean to offend anyone but I got this from a friend and none of my friends knew about it. So I thought I might give others a heads up. What do you guys suggest, take down this post?? Comment and I will do it..
EDIT :Also, i checked the above links, none of them take us to the download page as the link here does. SO, might as well keep this thread alive :)

  • Appreciate Microsoft's generosity. What a delight!

    • Generosity, or corrupt business practices and just plain good business?

      • I agree, if this happened in Europe, expect Anti-Trust lawsuits…

  • Is Microsoft feeling threatened by the increasing uptake of free alternative OSs like Ubuntu?

  • I am interested but would like to know if anyone has purchased and downloaded successfully, any issues?
I am interested in Microsoft for Mac and Windows 8.
    Thanx.

    • It's too easy.. Just log in and download the
.iso file and make a bookable DVD. Code will be sent to your email. Then use it as a genuine win 8 DVD. Does that answer your question?
