MDuo2014

Hello OzBargainers,

Mike here from MEElectronics. We are running a deal this weekend on our M-Duo Dual Dynamic Driver in-ear earphones matching our lowest-ever pricing from last year at $39.99 ($40 off with coupon)

Coupon code is "MDuo2014". There is a limit of 2 units per order and the coupon will expire next Tuesday, 01/28/14, at midnight PST.

International postage is $8.95, same as before, and does not change with number of units. Delivery times vary but are typically between 10 and 20 business days for the cheapest shipping method.

The M-Duo utilizes two dynamic drivers - a 9mm woofer and 5mm tweeter - in each earpiece, along with a crossover circuit, to provide clean, extended bass response as well as clear sound across the rest of the spectrum. Other features include dual-layer metal housings, reinforced cabling, and an inline microphone and remote for smartphones and other devices (see our mic/remote info page here for more info).

As many of you guys already know, our customer service experience is second to none and we try to deliver the very best value for your money when it comes to headphones and earphones. Our products have consistently received excellent feedback from customers and reviewers alike and the M-Duo earphones currently have a 4.5 star average rating at amazon.com.

As before, I will gladly answer any questions as best I can. I can also be contacted by email at customerservice(at)meelec.com or directly at mike(at)s2einc.com .

All comments and questions welcome!

  • You usually throw in a $2.95 shipping discount as a sweetener - any chance on this deal? :)

    • Sorry, would have had to make the base price $44.99 then :(

  • Ok, you got me. Works out about A$58.

  • Hi, I prefer a balanced, accurate and neutral sound… would I prefer the A151 ?

Or alternatively, given the two drivers and crossover, how do these compare to the A151?

    • Yes, I think you would prefer the A151. They are pretty much the opposite in sound signature - the M-Duo has enhanced bass and slightly boosted treble while the A151 has flat bass and slightly relaxed treble, focusing more on the midrange.

      • I just bought this deal, but I would prefer the A151P (I prefer clarity over bass) or even better the A161P (mentioned on the Amazon site but not on the MEElectronics site that I could find).

Can I change them and still get the $40 off? Or just make it a 50% off any model?

        • We ran out of the A161P but if you send me your order number by email or PM I can switch your order over the A151P.

        • Don't worry, I'll just stick with the M-Duo. Thanks.

        • Dear Mee rep, have you phased out the A161P? I have a pair of them, love the sound of those headphones, the only bit I dont like about them is the cord, i would prefer the mess free flat type cord.

        • We currently do not plan to re-stock the A161P but we don't have a direct replacement for it yet. Hopefully towards the end of the year we will.

  • Any deals on any of your other iems? A151/A161/M6 etc.

My M11+'s that I use for running just died and I need a new pair of something to replace them!

    • If you liked the way your M11s sounded the M-Duo is going to be a better match for audio quality/sound signature than the A151/A161 or M6. It's pretty much the culmination of our "M"-series sound signature.

      • Cheers. How would they be for walking/running? That would be their sole purpose, i've got other IEMs for listening at home (Westone 4s). Preferred sound signature is on the warm side of neutral, listening to EDM (House/Trance/DnB/Dubstep etc). Reviews seem to say the MDuo has a U shape curve, sounds like it'd be alright…

        • Personally I prefer over-the-ear style earphones (a-la Westone 4) for walking/running so from that perspective the M6 might be better. Microphonics (cable noise) are lower and the fit is more secure.

The A151 sounds a little warm because of its relaxed treble but it doesn't have the enhanced bass of the M-Duo and other M-series models, which you probably would want for EDM.

  • I'm guessing this deal is due to them being phased out, or to move stock that's not selling.

    • +1

Definitely not phasing them out any time soon. Just giving out international customers a chance to get them at a lower-than-amazon price.

  • any similar deal for the Sport-Fi S6P?

    • You can get them for the same $40 price from amazon (and I can price match that as well if our shipping is less expensive than amazon's).

      • is that $40 including delivery? using the same coupon code?

        • +5

I'd have to create a new coupon code. If you want to wait I can probably provide a lower price by scheduling a Sport-Fi newsletter promo for next week.

        • +1

A Sports-Fi promo would be just what I need - I'm desperate from some new gym earphones and the S6P look perfect for me

        • Yea I'm interested too!

        • A new Sport-Fi deal has been posted here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/132175

    • At least they're exclusive…

  • Looks like MP4Nation have put R1's on special due to this -

http://mad.ly/343e64?pact=19970741367&fe=1 (email promo received 13:27 today).

    • based on reviews the R1's seem to be in a cheaper segment/refinement?

      is that your take?

    • What fun.. we haven't even sent out our email blast yet.

Maybe someone owns both and can provide a sound comparison :)

  • Do you have any plans to make special offer to sale double pack, tripack or maybe five pack of headphones? Something similar to mp4nation in christmas (3pack brainwavz beta).

    • We did a random 2-for-1 promo last month on some of our lower-end models: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/126364 . Unfortunately we don't have the inventory for a repeat at this time. Usually we run these types of "mystery" earphone deals twice a year.

      • ok, thanks for reply
so, I'm waiting for sport-fi promo to next week ;) If the price will be attractive I will buy few sets.

      • I'd love a sports-fi deal too! If you could match your previous deal of $29.99 for the s6p that would be amazing :)
