Wiki: Weis is a privately owned Australian company producing frozen ice confectionery and frozen fruit desserts for domestic and international markets. The company is owned and operated by a second generation of the Weis family. The manufacturing plant is located in Toowoomba, Queensland with the sales and marketing office in Toowong, Queensland. Weis has been exporting to countries all over the world for over 10 years.

Weis is most well known for its bar-shaped fruit ice creams known as Weis Bars. They are sold at most Australian milkbars for around A$5 and in boxes of 8 mini bars or 4 regular-sized bars at most supermarkets.

The original Weis Fruito Bar was developed by Cyril Weis in the 1930s and was sold from his own corner store in Toowoomba. Production ceased due to wartime rationing of cream, fruit and sugar, but in 1957 the production of the Weis Fruito Bar was relaunched in Toowoomba. The Weis Fruito Bar contains Pineapple, Banana and Passionfruit.

          I'm sure we are all grateful for your contributions to this site, but I have to agree that the start date is more important in this context than a mini lecture on the origins of Weiss bars.

          but… the start date is and has always been there, included in all the details. It's in the same place ALL the start and end dates of sales are in every post.

          I think I, along with many, read the headline, start reading underneath it and its a pointless history of the Weiss company just stop reading then assume the deal is current. I would have thought that you would have posted the deal on Wednesday as opposed 3 days before. Sometimes I just read the headline which should have any caveats included in it, and I doubt that I'm alone in this. Perhaps I'm using Ozbargain wrong and need to go through every paragraph of minutia in future, in which case, sorry I missed that bit, my fault, and apologies. Regardless thanks for the post, it is appreciated as I am a Weiss fan :-)

      It's fruit ice on one side, with vanilla ice cream or yoghurt on the other!
      And they're just the best, so try one.
