I think it's misleading, it doesn't come with 16G memory this this model.

  • ships with
    Memory, standard
    2GB (1x2GB) UDIMM
according to hp website and can take up to 16GB in the 2 slots (2x8GB)

is $395.00 on shoppingexpress http://www.shoppingexpress.com.au/buy/hp-proliant-microserve… at the moment so its still a decent buy

  • Did they ever fix the fan noise issue with the g8 microservers running in ACHI mode?

    • JO6 ROM update and if u hack the ilo4… check the homeservershow website mine is idle at 12-15%..

I hate it though when resellers quote RRP's! we all know how much it resells for!

  • The description is misleading in regards to ram

It's actually $329 + shipping @ Shopping Express as per this deal posted here yesterday.

    • Agreed.

Rep if you can come down in price, or add something to the deal to differentiate your offer from the cheaper price Shopping Express are offering, you'd have a bargain.

    $329 + Shipping @ Shopping Express
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/134081

and Shipping is less than $20.

    • Ditto

    • As linked above, cheaper at Shopping Express. Neg for no bargain and using fake RRP's.

WOW, RRP $790, what a massive discounted. I'll take a dozen.

    • yep it p1ss3s me off when "ALL" resellers mention this!!! Are well all that Naive?????

      • I'm sure some people pay RRP but I can assure you they don't frequent OZB!

I only quoted RRP to show you that it is on a special price for this month only. I never said you needed to ever pay RRP. Prices on these things go up and down depending on who has stock and how long they have held it. I am trying to get the best price out there I can. I didn't mean to mislead but thought I needed to be brief and let buyers look at the full information on the website. I am about to post another HP microserver with an AMD chip that is slightly cheaper.

You don't need RRP to show that. Show your undiscounted price, $399 or whatever it usually is. The people buying these kind of products aren't fools, they know what your competition charges.

Also, we know prices fluctuate. That's fine. But you won't find people willing to part with their money for something that isn't their problem. It's something that the seller has to deal with, not the buyer.

Good luck to you, it was a good price, very unfortunately beaten by 1 store.
