Up to $200 in Gift Cards (4x $50 Participating Retailers) with New Commonwealth Bank Credit Card

170

I'm sure this will stack with https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/134364 or if you have applied for a new CBA credit card recently.

-Spend $100 (in one or more transactions) at Caltex and receive $50 Caltex gift card
-Spend $100 (in one or more transactions) at Dymocks and receive $50 Dymocks gift card
-Spend $100 (in one or more transactions) at Flight Centre and receive $50 Flight Centre gift card
-Spend $100 (in one or more transactions) at JB HIFI and receive $50 JB HIFI gift card

T&C doesn't mention anything regarding buying gift cards from those retail outlets.

*$50 cashback will be provided when minimum $100 of eligible purchases are made at each retailer’s participating locations on the new CBA credit card by 31st May 2014 (“promotion period”).

If you were hesitant about your credit file with the $100 cashback offer this should sweeten the deal. Especially if you are an existing CBA account holder which means no annual fee on the Low Fee credit cards for the first year (and spend minimums after that).

You must apply via https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/134364 to receive the $100 cashback however.

  • Hmmm, it does say "Cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.". Not sure if it is stackable.

    • Only one way to find out :)

If you were taking advantage of the $100 cashback promo page offer might as well give this a go if you are intending on spending money at the participating retailers anyway.

How can I only spend $30 at the shops if my bank account has $1000? I'll never spend $1000 in one day.

It doesn't have to be done in one transaction.

    Note: From their web page

'How to get up to $200 cash back.

Spend $100 or more at any one of our four participating retailers – and you’ll receive a $50 gift card from that retailer. This can be over as many transactions as you like, as long as it is during the promotion period*.

*$50 cashback will be provided when minimum $100 of eligible purchases are made at each retailer’s participating locations on the new CBA credit card by 31st May 2014 (“promotion period”).'

The key words are: 'This can be over as many transactions as you like, as long as it is during the promotion period', meaning you DO NOT have to spend $100 in one transaction. Therefore it should be easy to achieve at Caltex.

  • How about buying 2 caltex card worth $50 each at Caltex station…so its $100 transaction and get $50 card on top of it free….

  • So does anyone know if gift cards are definitely eligible under this offer?

    • I don't actually know, but I assume CBA will be the one giving you the gift card and also the ones verifying whether or not you deserve one, because they will be the only one knowing your address. They will (I assume) go by your statement or similar which will say where the purchase was made, but NOT what the purchase is for. So whether you buy Fuel, Gift Cards or Adult Mags, CBA will not know

  • how do you make it stack with the other $100 offer?

    • you just sign up using the $100 cash back eligible page.

  • Wish you could get four of the same card. Oh well

  • i did a product transfer on my cba to one with a lower fee card recently i wonder if i would still qualify or if it for new applications only?

  • Does anyone know if I can spend on Caltex Woolworth?
