lol - SURE. Sending you a free shipping code, if you may PM me your username please :).

      • +6

        Great service as usual!!
I also like the code which is self explanatory against Amazon stock :)

Kearnsy, thanks for sharing the Free shipping code ;)

  • Slightly better deal ($9) from CPL yesterday on the Celeron bundle;
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/136413

… but SE have more reasonable shipping!

  • The image for the BOXD34010WYKH is incorrect. Its the image from the BOXD34010WYK (without the H, H version is bigger with support for 2.5 drive)

    • no worries, requesting the correct image to be updated.

      Cheers
      SE

  • Hi Rep, I'm interested in more than one, (workplace) i believe you can only buy 1 at a time?

    Thanks

    • Hi scud70,

Can you PM me the model you are looking at?

      regards
      SE

      • Sorry about that the 240gig Crucial M500 SSDs

  • Now I am torn….this or the trifecta? essentially the M500 240GB vs the SanDisk Extreme II 120GB (with the belkin power board and the Toshiba mouse)

  • I'm really interested in the 240GB model. How about warranty?, can anyone share their experience with ShoppingExpress?
Otherwise I could buy it from Amazon.
    Thanks

    • +1

Though I have found Amazon very good for warranty issues paying the return shipping as well and not fussy.

Getting from local retailer is faster, supports local economy and jobs :)
You can contact the manufacturer after one year for warranty issues as well.

      • Thanks gagans!

        • :)

  • Hi Rep, Any Deals on the mSata versions?

      Cheers

      • Also super keen for an msata deal, want to upgrade the laptop!

  • Features
    - Windows* 8.1 and 8 Logo

comes with Windows? Or just the logo??

    • no O/S preinstalled in the NUCs

  • +1

I would like to buy locally, too bad amazon deal came out first and order already shipped.

    Hi Rep,
does it come with the 9.5mm adapter? Thanks

***** Edit: Sorry, I've checked the description. It does ****

  • These intel i3/i5 nucs are more expensive than i3/i5 laptops on deals which come with RAM, HDD, more USB ports, screen, keyboard etc. Someone tell me why I would by an i3/i5 at >$400 with all those missing over a cheap laptop?

    • +3

      Size.

A NUC will literally fit in the palm of your hand (since they are 4x4 inches) they also consume almost no power at all (<10w) these features alone make them fantastic for HTPC's, display machines, POS etc.

  • +1

Ok done deal, 2nd nuc purchased from SE in 7 days! Keep the NUC deals coming!

  • +4

Ordered one, my first SSD :)

    • +3

Viva la difference.. You will love the performance increase.

      • Does it have better value for money compared to the faster Sandisk 256GB for 165$?

        • For the $25 diff:

-Read speed is about the same on both [~500-550MB/s].
-Write speed on Sandisk, I think is about ~400MB/s+ [250MB/s vs. 400MB/s].
-You get extra 26GB [unformatted] capacity on Sandisk compared to M500 [240gb vs. 256gb].

pls correct me if I'm wrong

        • Isn't that an extra 16 GB 256 - 240 = 16

        • Thanks but my question is whether spending $25 extra for those specs worth it? What sort of tasks would need the higher write speed?

        • +1

Sandisk 256G might last longer than this one:
          - Significantly higher MTBF(Mean time between failures) 2,000,000 hours vs 1,200,000 hours
          see http://ssdboss.com/ssds/SanDisk-Ultra-Plus-SSD-vs-Crucial-M5…

          Tasks need higher write speed:
Copy large files around like movies
Create lots of temporary files in disk (System dump, movie maker, 3DMax, AutoCAD, Databases …)

I don't have much need for doing those things frequently, so a cheap M500 is good enough for me. Hope this helps :)

        • Oops, typo.

Yes, its $25 for an extra 16GB.
