    • +2

      Nice find.
      Two for $48, bargain.

      Need some new pans

  • +4

only if I can cook better with more expensive pan, good deal for those who can

We got a set of these pans for our wedding a bit over a year ago. They're awesome, cook perfectly and pretty easy to clean (non-stick obviously). Only small gripe is the hexagon pattern on the bottom is slightly sunken/indented and some food bits are a bit difficult to get out occasionally. Not really an issue, just a heads up.

  • seems like a great price but just wondering if they last? can't find much about these pans on google whereas Woll Nowo, circular, anolon reviews are everywhere..

    • *Dupont Teflon Platinum Pro non-stick interior will last longer than most other non-stick coatings however it is not covered by this guarantee. Made in China. Made Exclusively for Myer Pty Ltd.

I'd be wary buying these pans

I bought an elcheapo nonstick set from big W like 8 years ago and the coating is just starting to wear off now, alothough the frypan coating wore off after like a year or 2. Lesson Ive learnt is that EXCESSIVE HEAT is ultimately what damages the coating.

        • +2

Dont worry, i think its better without those commercial nonstick coatings anyways. And excessive heat will make food taste better. I aways heat my carbon steel pans til it smoke, drop food in there and get flambé to sear the food, thats the difference between restaurant and home cooking

        • If only i could afford a carbon fibre frypan instead of my el crappo big w one :(

        • +1

Carbon steel ones are cheap mate, find a restaurant supplies store

    • +4

Not exactly a long-term test, but I've had my set for 14 months and we use one of the big pans about 3-5 times/week for anything from curries or steak to omelettes etc. No problems at all so far, basically still look new.

  • +1

    thanks, bought two frypans

  • Vue being Myer's home brand. I have the impression different items are made by different manufacturers for them.

Has anyone had positive experiences with their fry-pans?

    • +3

Yep - good experience with these exact pans. Read up.

Thanks, will make a great back up umbrella.

I live in Canberra, and often go to the tip to pick up kitchen items for $1-2, including pans. So $40 is way too much for a pan.

I prefer to use carbon steel pans and this is what restaurants use, and they sell for $10-15 at supplies stores. I believe these pans are what our great grandparents used for cooking. Through cooking these pans develop natural non stick coat called patina. Secret ingredient that makes restaurant food tasty. Unlike the commercial non-stick coatings that will end up in your tummy at the end of the day ;)

Most Ozbargainers would draw the line at eating off things they've found in a tip - good on you!

      • +3

Lol I can totally relate to what you say. But most items I get from that place is near new condition. Because many Australians nowadays love to throw away unwanted things regardless of their condition; sometimes I question why they would obtain them at first place. I have seen even similar frypans to Vue, no scratch, no stains there.

Those guys at the tip here has very different thing going on for them, they set up a warehouse as a sorting facility, create many full-time and part-time jobs, donate 10 grands to charity every month from the profit they make. Canberrans love them. Website Facebook

Besides, which has more bacteria, a cleaned and heated pan or a medium-rare piece of meat?

  • Where is this made?

      • wait just read earlier in the thread.Made in the PRC.
  • Have to input much info to visit the page (zip, email and more…), and no close button appears… :(

    • same here. not sure if it's my browser (Chrome) but just can't check out at all

  • Thanks OP and Serrin
Bought 2. The old one needed replacing a long time ago.
Let just hope this one lasts.

  • Thanks op

    I just ordered

      Hahaha Iron chef or broden?

  • Thanks Op. good find.

  • +1

    Bought 2 aswell :]

  • I wonder what these pans/grills are made of? Aluminium or carbon steel?

    • Disappointingly it doesn't look like it's made out of Stonedine. Guess the fish will stick and the egg wont be as nice.

  • +2

Great first post buddy. Ordered 2 :)

  • Wanted 4, 2x30" and 2x26", the price came to $96

Saw that there was free shipping when spending over $100, so ordered another 30"

Total spend = $120, $24 per pan so good deal.

    Thanks OP

  • 24 bucks per pan?!? Great Deal!!!

    Got 2 of each!!

  • Just bought 2x 30cm 2x 26cm and 1x square grill pan, Thanks OP!

  • For some reason the 'postage options' doesnt pop up for me. Doesnt allow me to proceed without filling in postage options. Anyone have any ideas? similar problems?

    • Have you got this fixed yet? I did mine via a guest account and from memory I had to enter my address before postage added itself automatically.

      • Still doesnt work for some reason. I've tried restarting and everything. And also, my address is not valid as well. Something wrong on my side of the spectrum?

        Thanks,

        Spam

        • I've just tried again and it seems like my suburb and postcode doesnt match. Well, i guess i'm going to miss out this wonderful deal. So long beautiful pans, i'm going to miss you :'( :'( (I'm sub conciously weeping)

  • -1

Um, $ 40 is rather expensive for a normal frypan. Safeway had a sale recently it was like $ 10.

    • +2

Actually, its 24 dollars for a frypan if you buy two. So it's pretty cheap considering there retail price was $100.

I think these are good quality pans.

  • Just received mine. It is pretty good quality. I haven't used it yet though =)

    • +4

post a photo of it frying eggs or it didn't happen.

  • Did u guys receive the frying pan in box? Just receive mine and the frying pan is only wrapped with bubble wrap without box :(

    • Mine came in a Myer box.

  • Sorry, I mean does the frying pan packed in its own Vue packaging? Mine come in myer box too, but when I opened it, the grill square pan was packed in its original box while the frying pan just wrapped with bubble wrap without packaging. Or I suppose all the vue frying pan doesn't come in box?

  • Looks like they may have been ozbargained? I just received an SMS saying my order has been delayed. Logging into the account it says there is a delay in fulfilling some of the items, and it lists all the different pans as delayed. (I ordered the grill, 26cm and 30cm pan). Anyone else got this?

  • Yeah I got an 'Order delayed' email for the pan and grill.. I don't mind a delay, hopefully doesn't get cancelled though.

  • +1

hi guys im getting a "Sorry!" from the myer link.

is it sold out? is there anyway i can still get in on the deal? friend of mine did look at this and say it's got 3k clicks probably sold out.

  • Just got an SMS and email saying mine is shipping now. This is the only communication I have had since order confirmation the 18th.

  • i never got a message saying it was delayed, instead i bought two pans but only recieved one…..
it shows in my online order that i bought two but the invoice only has one pan… ugh.

  • Both of my pans just showed up, but one is clearly a returned item (no string tags or stickers unlike the new one, and some stains on it) and one is a brand new item.

Hmmm… whether to bother to return the used one or not…

  • Got an email saying my order is delayed

  • Anyone here with a 20cm round pan want to swap for a square grill pan?
