  • So that Intel HTPC is a complete PC, just need to install a OS and it will work?

What GPU does the NUC have?

      Intel® Celeron® processor N2820
      (up to 2.4GHz dual-core, 1MB cache, 7.5W TDP)
and yes, with this bundle all you need is install the OS
      regards

      • Thanks. I think I might pick up one up, let me check funds ;)

  • Does this have a wireless/bluetooth?

    • hi schwinn
      Yes come with

      Intel® Wireless-N 7260BN pre-installed, including wireless antennas
      (IEEE 802.11bgn, Bluetooth* 4.0, Intel® Wireless Display built-in)

    • I believe all of the new celery nuc's come with wireless.f knows why intel left it out of the i3 and i5 models.

  • Would this be able to handle Plex Media Server (no transcoding required)?

    • Yes easily. It should be able to transcode too.

  • any deal without the HDD?

    lol @ "personal cloud"

  • How do you set the store location for pick up?

I tried purchasing with paypal and got an error:
An internal server error occurred. Please try again later.

    Edit:
Seems like it got through, received order details via email.

Do some research before jumping into the Intel NUC pond. The Intel community forum and others seem to have a lot of posts about buggy BIOS's, display incompatibilities, etc. They may be ok for enthusiasts who like to tinker and don't mind taking a bit of a risk, but if you just want to install Windows from a stick and start watching MKVs from a NAS on your big screen, this may not be the best choice. Great design concept, currently let down by poor firmware. YMMV to mine.

    • I think because it's so new they shipped it to market before they could polish the coding side of things eg lack off win 7 drivers. I wouldn't let this hold anyone back from getting it before software things like drivers and firmware can be updated.

      • Yes the celeron range is a pain for compatibility. The i3 and i5 are fine from my experience.

    • The Issue with the NUCs are with the HDMI (Display & HMDI audio) drivers.
intel are working on a solution very annoyingly slowly!!!!!

But if you are going to use this as a PLEX server then you don't need to contend with those buggy HDMI drivers.

However if you want to plug this directly into your HDTV or RECEIVER via the HDMI under WinBlows then you will run into those issues.

edit: btw it was the i3/i5 we were having quite a lot of issues with… (disappearing audio via hdmi)

  • hi,

is this one support the mSATA as well?
if so, can i plug in the mSATA and the 500gb hdd at the same time please?
I am interested and keen to find out,
    thanks

    • The Haswell Celeron NUC (DN2820) can only take a single SATA 2.5" drive (SSD or HDD). Obviously though you could expand local storage with an external 2.5/3.5 drive.

  • Any bundles that include a 250gb SSD?
