PS VITA Wi-Fi/3G Console $169 @ DSE

880

I went into my local DSE this morning to purchase the Vita/Killzone bundle posted by theearth a few days ago, only to discover they're selling the console unbundled for $169. Strangely not advertised online, but this was the price it scanned through as.

Nothing I can find suggests that the unit is locked to Vodafone (although a Vodafone sim is included). Furthermore, the game Wipeout 2048 is included when you make your first Vodafone recharge (minimum $10, http://www.vodafone.com.au/personal/wireless-internet/mobile…), so not a bad deal if you aren't on PS+ (it's currently US$13.49 on US psn or free with PS+).

Play Personal 4 on this, it is AMAZING.

  • Make sure the 3G model PS Vita that you are purchasing are not locked to the Vodafone network. It seem lukeolivie may have bought one that is locked to the Vodafone network. Read the Red Wipeout 2048 label on the box.

The 3G is pretty much useless to be honest. Don't know of anyone using it

      • how reliable are these guys??

        • some guys on whirlpool have bought from them before, and never had any problems… I have never purchased anything myself, so cant say for sure

        • -1

They've always come through reliably and quickly for me.

        • My first purchase from them was like 6 yrs ago for a PSP Slim. They've been around a long time.

  • I'm very seriously considering this just to play Persona 4 Golden and Dagonronpa. Is it worth getting an entire console for the sake of 2 games?
(Granted, I picked up the 3DS just for Phoenix Wright and Zero's Last Reward…)

    • Well Danganronpa 2 is coming, and so are some more Persona games. Plus if that's the games your into there's a lot more like them.
      So yes.

    • +1

Persona 4 was one of the first games I played on it and if I never played another game on the vita again it would of been worth it for me. That game is so amazing

    • If you have a FT job and not home all the time then buy it. I spent more time on vita than the ps3 I bought years ago

    M m m m myki!

  • Is it lock to Vodafone net?

  • got my awesome psvita. with a game. and no memory card :D

  • Confirmed, $169 for a 3G/WIFI + A game. wooo hoooooo…….

but then I spent $120 for a 64GB…. and then another $25 for the starter pack.

    • You paid around $30 too much for the 64GB card though.

      • Going Japan nxt friday, so I bought it from SUPERUFO with DHL/Fedex option. Perhaps could have gotten away with EMS for 19.50 USD instead of 35 USD, but not risking it for $7 USD (bought 2 for myself and a friend).

Ended up about $102 USD per person. So, prolly around $110 - $112 AUD.

If you're going to Japan then grab it from Sofmap for $88 (everywhere in Akiba)

        • +1

Then I can't enjoy it whilst on the way there.

    • Just a troll looking for some love.

Or someone who has a valid point and you don't like hearing it.

        • +1

Yep so you think candy crush is more enjoyable? OK.

        • -3

Casual mobile games suit a lot of people more than the serious stuff on the Vita. So yes, lots of people would consider 10 minutes of Candy Crush much more enjoyable than hours of some JRPG.

Compare this to the 3DS (which is selling great), where there is a mix of fun casual games and the more serious too.

But yet again, this is the internet, everyone must have the same view of-course. Silly me.

        • +1

So all the games suck (apart from 3DS and phone games) That is a troll statement and you are just another troll joining in.

        • -4

In his opinion all the games suck. If they don't for you, great, glad you're having fun.

Personally I think mobile games "suck". Doesn't mean I suddenly accuse people of "trolling" just because I don't agree with him.

Some people on here really need to calm down when it comes to video games. Find some more important issues to get fired up about.

        • +1

I'm not fired up at all? Calling a spade a spade doesn't upset me at all. I'm just making a pretty obvious observation, nothing more.

        • +2

If he's played every one of them and concluded they suck, OK. Chances are he doesn't own a Vita.

  • +1

For all you new purchasers, two things I really recommend:
    1. 64gb Memory Card
    2. This cheap Vita grip - it makes the console so much more comfortable to play on, you won't regret it http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Durable-Joypad-Bracket-Holder…

  • Manage to score the last killzone bundle at wetherill park, someone didnt pick it up yesterday thx ozbargain!!

  • +1

    1) Buy Persona 4 Golden and Dragon's Crown.

    2) Buy at least 32GB in memory

    3) Join the PS+ network. The US version gives the best games.

  • Could somebody please post the bundle code they used at dick smith (cannot quite make it out in the previously posted photo). I picked up a 3g/wifi for $169 at morwell store Victoria. But thinking I'll try return and get the killzone bundle included.. There were 3 more available yesterday afternoon.

  • So tempting… is this offer available in all stores?

    • +1

      Should be, yes.
