you know its a grey import right?

    • +1

Never bought from them before so wouldn't know but at $419 I would of bought if it I didn't have one already. If its not a good deal or reputable company just neg the post to push it out of the way.

I'm fairly sure all of DWI's stock is Grey Import, sent from Honkers. I would investigate the warranty; legit Grey Importers have someone in Australia to take care of warranty issues. I 'grey imported' a DSLR from Kogan last year during a free shipping sale, and while it isn't covered by a Nikon warranty, Kogan apparently has a third party deal with problems in Australia.

Great device at a great price. Worthwhile seeing whether officeworks would price beat DWI if you are concerned about grey imports.

      • +2

If it is grey import officeworks will not match.

        • If it is grey import officeworks will not match.

OfficeWorks will not Price-Beat this store - it is on their 'list'.

However, I believe that ASUS honour an International one year warranty on the T100.

Its a great device…. I grabbed a T100 on a price match less another 10% at OW back in early Jan for $432 but that was pretty fluky.
Asus have continually improved this with regular bios updates and great support along with Intel doing the same for the newish chipset.
    Highly recommended!

Yea love mine, just don't expect it to play games. Can't handle Asphalt 8 or Dungeon Keep well, it works but choppy. I was hoping it would at least be good with the app store games. But eh, didn't buy it for games anyways but would have been a nice option.

  • Does it comes with an international warranty?

How long it takes to deliver?

    • sorry can't help there

      http://www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au/astore/Webpage.aspx?Webp…

Site implies Australia Warranty applies if that helps.

    • Does it comes with an international warranty?

Apparently, yes! According to reviews I just read (I did a Google search).

How long (does) it takes to deliver?

DWI claims just a few days.

      • According from their live chat support that this tablet doesn't come with an international warranty nor ASUS Australia warranty.

The 12 months warranty they're offering to us is from their Sydney 3rd party service centre.

Yes. The T100 DOES have a "WARRANTY: 1 Year Global" (as stated on the OfficeWorks web site as well as on other sites around the world, USA etc.). However, ASUS in Australia will not honour this warranty.

These price matching deals are unfair sportsmanship to post them on Ozbargain…

  • DWI is gray import. there shipping is fast and they use to have call center in aus. there always would be risk of warranty claims, if price difference is more than 75 i would buy otherwise local stock. i did bought canon lens from them about year a go, but never deal with them on warranty claims and hope not to.

If the price difference is more than $75 I would buy from them - otherwise look to buy local stock. I did buy a CANON lens from them about year ago, but never dealt with them about any warranty claims and hope not to.

Partially fixed for you. It seems that ASUS have an International Warranty on the T100. So, one could go directly to ASUS in Australia if there were a problem.

EDIT: ASUS Australia will not honour the warranty on any T100 not purchased in Australia.

  • Price back to $475.

  • Ordered one $419 + $8.38 (2% surcharge by PayPayl) = $427.38 AUD. Seems like great price, lets hope it come through and I don't ever have warranty issues, etc.

    • +1

Why did you get charged a 2% surcharge? I just bought it and I paid exactly $419.

      • Argh. That's just what it said when I placed the order. I'll contact them to request a correction/refund for the difference, thanks.

      • The seller got back to me (they seem pretty good/prompt) to say "DWI has the payment surcharge on all the methods barring Direct Deposit as advertised on the Homepage". Did you pay by direct deposit? I used PayPal because the product pricing is listed as a "PayPayl Special".

        • They have promptly cancelled the order and refunded the full amount via PayPal as I requested so (again) good to deal with.

  • They ship from Hong Kong warehouse and it doesn't come with 12 months Australian warranty (ASUS Australia). This is 100% grey import product!

    • They ship from Hong Kong warehouse and it doesn't come with 12 months Australian warranty (ASUS Australia). This is 100% grey import product!

Of course I agree that DWI ship Hong Kong stock direct from Hong Kong. However, from where did you discover that ASUS will not offer an International warranty on the T100? Thanks.

EDIT: It appears that the ASUS T100 DOES HAVE A "1 Year Global Manufacturer Warranty". However, ACER Australia will not honour this warranty.

        • where did you discover that ASUS will not offer an International warranty on the T100? Thanks.

Their live chat support told me so.

Their live chat support told me so.

You meant DWI's LiveChat. No confirmation from ASUS Australia. However, there are reviews on the web that state that ASUS AU would not honour the Global Warranty on T100s purchased in the USA. (Even though the Warranty Card stated Global Warranty).

        • Yes. It's best to ask DWI's live chat before placing order. Make sure everything are clear to go.

      • of course, ACER will not honour the warranty.
        ;)

        • -1

And Apple won't honour warranty for an Asus product too.

        • +1

of course, ACER will not honour the warranty.

Sorry about the typo - I was rushing to go and have dinner.

    Great deal

  • I think the T100 will drop below $400 (AU STOCK) within the next 2 weeks.

So many deals in the past few days…

  • Bah next was meant to be cherrytrail, where did braswell come from….

Just had it price matched at Officeworks, $398. The guy looked it up on the dwi site, checked out the model number and everything. Can post receipt if wanted.

    • +1

      Hi Rekuhs,

if you could post the receipt that would be great- I'll be heading into Officeworks this afternoon to try and get another one of these deals.

      Many thanks!

Edit: posted from my new Transformer T100 :)

      • Wonderful, many thanks!

    • No luck with Officeworks Blacktown. The guy said they don't price match since DWI is grey import. Manager was almost going to give in but the tech guy rang DWI and said warranty was different. Going to try another officeworks later.

        • Manager was almost going to give in

That's because the manager checked the system COST price is below $300. I'm sure they can sell it for less than $400 if they like YOU.

Look at the Dicksmith Sony speaker deal for example. RRP $80 and sold for $20. That's well above 300% markup.

        • Update. Went to wentworthville Officeworks and almost pulled it off. The dude checked DWI and said its all good, went to find it in the warehouse but decided to check it again and then went nope, can't do since they are grey import.

Went to Northmead, the dude pulled out a LAMINATED blacklist which has a bunch of stores they don't price match since they are grey imports. Ended up getting it pricematched with the digitalstar $499 deal.

I just purchased one from OfficeWorks Bondi Junction (NSW) for $398 after Price Match less 5%. I was served by Harry.

    • +1

Yeah,I got one with price match as well today from Belconnen(ACT) for $398, after telling a nice boy some guys did the price match in other shops. Lucky!

    • just purchased one from OfficeWorks Bondi Junction (NSW) for $398

Are you able to upload your receipt?

      Cheers

      • Are you able to upload your receipt?

I am, but I don't see the need. There is already a receipt available (above) and OW staff just check the DWI website to confirm price (and free delivery).

Just try to avoid the laminated black-list.

  • Just tried price match/beat at Officeworks in Pitt St. Sydney CBD but they refused :-(

And, the reason they gave was……?

Try another store such as North Sydney? There is a receipt above showing a sale on Monday at $398.

      • Grey import, different warranty terms. Through DWI only not ASUS direct. I even showed them a copy of the Nth. Syd. receipt but no go. They lost a sale as far as I am concerned.

Gotcha, I might try Bondi as also reported to work (by you as I re-read it :-) and closer for me, thanks.

        • Please upload your receipt if you're successful in the Bondi Junction store. I might go there this Friday afternoon.

        • -1

          Gotcha, I might try Bondi

Make sure you try with Harry. Not the big white male staffer - he was carrying around the laminated 'black list' when I was there last.

        • Gotcha, thanks. Will do, if I get around to that store. Alexandria (closer to home for me) also refused tonight so I am starting to tire/waver (i.e. can't be bothered further) and tell myself I do not need one anyway :-)
