+1 because namecheap is a great company to deal with

    • but earth day not so much.

      • Are you saying earth day is not a good company to deal with?

  • Should put in post "Valid for .com, .org, .biz, .net and .info domains. One year only."

  • Namecheap's ongoing price is A$16.03 for .com.au and $A11.44 for .com

I have not used Namecheap before, but why would you pay more than you can get from an Australian hosting provider? VentraIP, Zuver, 9web et al all offer .com.au and .com at $10 per year and you get an invoice with GST that you can claim back 1/11th. They are Australian businesses with great service. Does Namecheap offer something they don't?

    • For .com, I like to keep them in known US registrars, usually GD but their renewal pricing sucks even with a coupon, so I'm taking advantage of this offer to transfer them to namecheap.

For .com.au, I do use Ventra IP.

      • For .com, I like to keep them in known US registrars

Is there a reason you do this? I'm interested as I have a few .com's. Thanks

        • Well US registrars have been historically cheaper, GoDaddy has $US3 registration coupons almost always these days (well below cost), before that they had quite cheap registration coupons as well, around the $US7-8 mark, I remember a few years back when name.com first started they were selling .com below cost at $US6. So that's one reason.

The 'known' registrars bit should be self explanatory, a lot of dodgy registrars/resellers out there and you aren't as protected when it comes to .com as you are with .com.au

But a major reason I stick to the known US registrars is I do hold some domains to hopefully resell, and I usually do make a few sales a year. It's just easier if you are with a 'known' US registrar as they are well known and buyers are usually happy for you to just push it to their account at the registrar, rather than wanting a transfer to a registrar of their choice which complicates things and can add another 5 days to the transaction.

        • Thanks for the advice

  • I'm not getting the discount, showing the standard $US9.69 price, what am I doing wrong?

    • Never mind, realised you have to choose from one of the two coupons under the charitys
