Hong Kong model/stock. However, as it is the Wi-Fi only model (no cellular), Apple Australia should support the warranty (at least for one year if not the two years that AU purchased units receive).

Curious, but this seems an awful lot like this deal approx 13 hours ago that was canned:

    This deal is not published.
APPLE iPad Air Wi-Fi 16GB Silver & Space Grey $525 (Deal Not Active)

    • Maybe that one wasn't active?

    • When that one was posted, it still required like another 20 buyers to commit to activate

  • How much of the 16GB does the OS use up?

For extra $30 you got two years warranty instead of one year, I would prefer a local stock.

I don't understand what you are trying to convey by your comment. Would you please explain?

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Meaning that you have statutory rights bounded by the ACCC as to the expected longevity of this product above and beyond that of what the manufacturer offers!

Good luck with any of that when buying from a Hong Kong seller via eBay, and being the importer of the item.

In this particular case, the seller is a Taiwanese, apparently based in Hong Kong. The item is being supplied and shipped from Hong Kong. Any buyers are deemed to be the importers under Australian law and legislation. ACC and Fair Trading legislation does not apply to these purchases.

Sorry, I should have added my personal opinion which would have read "And good luck with that!" But I was just expanding on what I believe Invidicus was stating.

Thinking further upon this, you may have a little more luck as the manufacturer (Apple) has a registered business here in Australia!
But I haven't read deep enough to know what your rights are on imported goods.
That being said, I know Apple offers a 1 year International Warranty, but does Apple Australia actually honour that warranty on imported goods in the first place? (From memory Samsung doesn't)

SAMSUNG Australia offers a two year warranty on Australian models of SAMSUNG devices (phones/tablets).

Apple Australia "may" honour a 12 month warranty on Apple iPhones and iPads from other markets. In practice it appears that they will support China/HK/Macau market iPads that do not feature cellular connection, and they will not support iPhones from that market.

I find the 16gb storage space too limited these days. As there are more apps and contents that are full HD, storage space gets used up much quicker than 4 years ago. Apple upgrades the CPU, GPU and/or Memory with each iPad, and theoretically they should have done the same with the storage space ie with a minimum of 32gb. I find myself constantly deleting apps and keeping a very limited number of apps due to the storage issue. If I were to buy another iPad, it's more likely I will go for a 32gb version or 64gb, which I guess is the tactic Apple is using to generate more revenue.
