Kindle Paperwhite New Gen A$149 from Target

This deal starts 1/5/2014 and ends 14/5/2014. A$149 is not the cheapest ever price but a good price for a local store.

Kindle Paperwhite New Gen US$139 delivered from Amazon.com

For comparison, US$139 direct from Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CTUKFNQ

Three limited-time offers from Amazon.com

These are probably Amazon's Mother's Day specials. I do not know when the offers will expire but probably Mother's Day (11/5/2014). Limit of 1 per customer (probably it means 1 per device per customer, so you can order one of each). Delivery is free.

Kindle Fire HD 16GB US$144 save $40
Kindle Fire HD 8GB US$134 save $20
Kindle US$69 save $20

Obviously the Fire HD 16GB is the pick of the bunch.

Your title is confusing, you trying to compare prices in the title.

So are we promoting Target or Amazon? lol.

    • I am promoting neither. It is your choice as from whom to purchase from.

Can you come up with an improved title? I am open to suggestions.

      • Don't mention Amazon Paperwhite, as that price is same as Target.
Prob better to split it into 2 threads, one for target and one for amazon.

        Thats what usually happens here.

        However this title is better:
Kindle Readers (Amazon US$69, Fire HD 8GB/16GB US$134/$144, Target AU Paperwhite AU$149)

By mentioning 2 paperwhites it makes the impression that you are trying to compare prices.
Amazon US $139 for Paperwhite isn't really a bargain, as that converts to $149. (and need to plus postage)

        • The amazon sale already has it's own thread

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/142288

        • Why didn't I see it when I was searching for duplicates before posting? I must be becoming blind. Sorry people, I didn't mean to dup.

        • It's alright, the Target one stands on it's own.

  • What does Target PW mean?

    Paywave?

    • Paperwhite.

    • Paperwhite. Can't fit it in the title.

  • paperwhite on amazon is 155.84 AUD + 13.43 AUD shipping = 169.27 AUD

    • Never use Amazon Currency Converter, it rips you off. Use 28 degrees and you will be paying around $149 instead of $155.84

      • dat shipping tho

  • Fire HD is so last decade., get the HDX, you will be a lot happier

  • oops

  • Have the paperwhites had a price drop or something? Target's regular price is $159, still cheaper than Dick Smith and Big W's "special" price.. Or are they just overpriced to begin with?

    • have a feeling they're gearing up to the release of a new model. out of stock at big w, price drop at target and i just tried to get officeworks to pricematch but the closest store that has any stock is mildura!

  • how come the whitepaper price on Target is A$159, it's $10 more compared to your list

  • Fire HD is the old model. A good tablet, but you'd be better off with a 2012 Nexus 7 if you can find one.
Nexus has latest OS, play Store, google apps, slightly better hardware, and even comes with a charger!

  • Refurbs are also part of todays Amazons deal of the day.
currently (6:30pm e.s.t) there is the Fire HD old model for $89usd.
looks like paperwhite first gen will be a deal around 11pm tonight.
    ..may suit some.

    • there is the Fire HD old model for $89usd.

The one I see is with "special offers", will not ship to Australia.
Have you a link to a refurb one that works for us?

  • I might go in and layby me the paperwhite tomorrow! :D

  • I am after the read out loud feature but U believe that's only available for HDX.

Man, that's a few Audiobooks in Audible to spend $400! Anyone with suggestions?

  • US$69 not US$59 for the last entry: "Kindle US$59 save $20"

    • Thanks. Bloody MS ergonomic keyboard puts the "6" key on the wrong side of the split and I cannot reliably touch type "5" and "6" any more. :-(
