As an apologize gesture, Virgin mobile offer some credit to all post paid customer. Also all postpaid customer can make free calls, texts, and MMS on sat 17 May and sat 24 May. Calls are limited within oz. Further details including their apologies and what happened is in the link.

I'd think the brunt of the usage would actually go to Optus :)
this is a cheap way to fix. they used to give $10 credit if u ask for screw up like this. plus I can never use all my monthly quota so whatever
If you complain to customer service or threaten to switch telcos because of the disruption they might offer you something..
In 2012 when the Optus service was disrupted for couple days in North Queensland I complained to the customer service and they gave me 3 months free.

Hmmmmm, so they are going to apologise for a network outage by potentially causing a network slowdown (or even another outage) with the free-for-all on the two Saturdays :p
